Lucas Leite | 18 comments Hey everyone, I’m Lucas Martins C. Leite, an emerging writer currently active in independent publishing. My main ambition right now is to create a literary universe (or multiverse, if you prefer, haha) that’s eclectic and interconnected. Each story can stand on its own, but they’re all tied together—every loose thread in one book may be directly linked to another. I like to call this whole universe the MartinsVerse.

So far, I’ve written a trilogy (published as a single volume in three acts) plus four standalone novels that are also part of this same web. All of them share a few common traits: they’re fantasy, action-adventure, and speculative fiction, with plenty of emotional clashes (sometimes pretty heavy ones), a constant touch of humor, and—most importantly—charismatic anti-heroes at the heart of the stories.

Here are the titles:

• The Chronicles of Fortune and Misfortune (Trilogy – Luna Specialis – Solis Vespera – Mortis Tenebrae)
In this trilogy we follow Gabriel, an orphan whose “normal” life is turned upside down when he meets Sophia, a girl from another reality who happens to be the disciple of Luck. And yes, I mean Luck the being itself, not just the concept. In her Cosmic World, human emotions, sensations, and even abstract ideas can take physical form. After a series of disasters, Gabriel and Sophia are thrust into a journey filled with betrayals, deaths, twists, a bit of romance and jealousy, nonstop action, and a completely unique reinterpretation of Death herself: Erelith. She’s gothic, sarcastic, cynical, oddly adorable, and not entirely sane, but once she regains her memory, she becomes something even greater—and takes center stage in the third act (there’s our main anti-heroine, haha). Along the way, readers will also meet an entire pantheon of characters like Time, Envy, Luck, Misfortune, Dream, Eli, Kira, Leon, Rúmi, and many others. The trilogy is the backbone of the MartinsVerse and the first stories I wrote.

• Clara Lysgaard and the Midnight Sun
This one follows Clara, a Brazilian girl of Nordic descent who is neurodivergent (on the autism spectrum). Orphaned and raised by her uncles, Clara discovers—together with her inseparable best friend Bia (her emotional anchor throughout)—that she has a magical lineage. Encouraged by a mysterious figure (later revealed to be the Norse goddess Sól), she sets off for an adventure in Norway. There, she and Bia dive into a lesser-known side of Norse mythology, facing beings hard to even imagine. It may sound like a classic quest, but the plot and ending will definitely surprise you. Spoiler alert: it’s not exactly a happy ending. And yes, Brazilian mythology gets woven into the Norse myths, all with Bia’s unmistakable humor lighting the way! Here we also discover a central truth of the MartinsVerse: everything ever imagined by the human mind exists somewhere. (Which takes the worldbuilding to almost infinite levels, haha.)

• Aleph – The Hidden Warrior
Honestly, this might be my favorite book so far, haha. It follows Aleph, a total anti-hero: cocky, shameless, sarcastic, full of himself, and absolutely fun to read. He breaks the fourth wall, talks directly to you, interacts with you, and yes—he’s absurdly powerful and couldn’t care less about rules. The book is packed with references, from Stranger Things to Hindu mythology, from Star Wars to Brazilian culture, from Marvel/DC to ancient legends… even Shrek makes a cameo in the references (and somehow, it all fits!). Aleph ends up battling entire pantheons of gods—Greek, Mayan, Egyptian, Celtic, Japanese, Inuit, Chinese—and even has an unexpected showdown with Wukong, the Monkey King. But beneath all the chaos, the core of the story is about responsibility: Aleph unwillingly becomes guardian of a cosmic baby, far more powerful than himself, a child whose existence threatens the entire multiverse while also unraveling Aleph’s own terrifying, tragic, and deeply painful past.

• Kai – Son of Time
Here we follow Kairon (Kai for short, much easier, haha), the son of Time itself (literally the cosmic being) and Ananke (the goddess of destiny). But Kai wants nothing to do with either parent—he spends his life running from them, from himself, and from his responsibilities. Outwardly, he’s just an otaku teenager, but with powers that let him bend time and reality. His fragile peace shatters when Nyra, a hunter from the Temporal Sectorial Council, comes after him. What follows takes them beyond the multiverse, outside even Time’s control, where they meet Liora—the sweetest and most lovable character you’ll ever encounter. It might start off light, but the story digs into weighty themes, with death and heavy choices shaping Kai’s path. Like Aleph’s tale, the narration is full of humor and pop culture references, keeping things fast-paced and fun even when the stakes get dark.

• James Miller – The Author of Nightmares
This one is very different in tone. We enter the mind of James Miller, a psychopath, sociopath, and supernatural killer. His method? He makes people’s nightmares come true—driving them to madness and suicide. Inside him dwells a force known simply as Fear, his weapon and his curse. But then he meets a woman immune to fear, a target he cannot touch. Their collision sets off a chain of events that brings James into conflict with a Celestial Winged Being and, eventually, into uncovering a Supreme Entity who believes himself to be the master of reason.

Everything here is interconnected, directly or indirectly. Each story hides easter eggs and threads for continuations—characters plotting in the shadows who only reveal themselves in the epilogues, either to claim they were behind it all or to hint that nothing is truly over yet.

And this is just the beginning—more titles are on the way!

Kai - The Son Of Time

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FKBQRJ8M

Synopsis:

What would you do if you were the son of Time?

No, seriously—not a metaphor. Kairon (or just Kai, way easier) was born from a cosmic entity and a goddess of fate. But don’t worry, he’s not arrogant. Just ironic, absurdly powerful, sarcastic, and mildly addicted to pop culture, anime, and terrible (or brilliant, depending on your taste) jokes. Oh, and he has a real talent for attracting trouble.

When Kai meets a time-hunting girl with a nasty habit of trying to kill him (hi, Nyra), and an ethereal girl who technically shouldn’t even exist (yep, talking about Liora), the multiverse starts to fall apart—literally. Gods, entities, dimensional collapse, a villain with twisted faith, and a war against Time itself. And somewhere in all that, Kai tries to… I don’t know, survive? Be useful? Maybe even love?

But nothing will ever be the same.

With a sharp tone, meta humor, and acid wit, Kai – The Son of Time is an urban fantasy that blends action, romance, cosmic chaos, and existential reflection—with cultural references and fourth-wall-breaking jokes that shatter reality like a smashed clock.

Get ready to laugh, cry (a lot), scream at characters that feel way too real… and discover a flower you’ll never forget.

“Imagine if Neil Gaiman wrote a season of Loki, directed by Makoto Shinkai, with Rick Riordan overseeing the script, and the emotional tone of Your Name. That’s this book. But with more sarcasm—and a golden flower that will destroy you from the inside.”

“What if Deadpool’s sarcasm was born from Time and Fate… raised on anime, coffee, and cosmic trauma?”

Kai: The Son Of Time
