It's just the song is so sad because he just wants to greet life happily but then shortly after gets killed because of that and this song haunts Ody later on after his death

Super controversial opinion here (ik, ik), but I never much mourned Polites. The whole song I was thinking how that ideology would get them killed.

Honestly Odysseus was backwards the whole time. He was merciful when he should have been Ruthless, and ruthless when he should have been merciful.

I get that everyone likes Polites, though. 🤷‍♀️

I love Polites and I definitely cried for a bit, but I decided Polites probably wouldn't want everyone to be sad about him, so then I just vibed instead.
