That’s great, Angela! I am enjoying my 2nd time through it. The audiobook is really good, so I am mostly listening to it this time. I like that it’s connected to The Little Mermaid, but not a retelling.

Agreed! It's a pretty neat idea to see what happened generations after The Little Mermaid.

I'm not liking the opening though. I don't know if anyone else feels the same way, but I don't particularly like books that start off with a dream. It feels pointless. Plus I don't like all the info-dumping in Ch. 2. I feel like it would be more satisfying if the history/backstory was revealed later or throughout the story. I hope the story gets better once I get past this.

@Katherine—I don’t mind dream-openings, and I didn’t notice an info dump, which I normally do not like, so I guess it doesn’t really make sense for me to say it gets better.🤷‍♀️🤭 But I hope you think it does.😍

Guys, I finished yesterday. I forgot two things: it’s a short book, and it ends on a cliffhanger. Sorry about the cliffhanger aspect; I honestly forgot.🫣

Well, once I got past Ch. 2 I really started to get into it! I've read three chapters today, and I'm excited to keep reading! :D
