Challenge Corner discussion

Duke Evans didn’t expect to interrupt a beautiful woman in a staring contest with a bison on his favorite hiking trail. He also didn’t expect to see her again after rescuing her from the surly beast. As the sheriff in Calamity, Montana, he’s had his fair share of surprises but none as pleasant as pulling over a shiny black car and finding his mysterious hiking companion behind the wheel.

Only, she lied to Duke. She gave him a name as fake as her hair color. According to her driver’s license, her real name is Lucy Ross, the famous country music singer whose sudden disappearance has been a hot topic in the media over the past two weeks.

He’s not sure why Lucy lied about her identity or why she’s in Calamity. And she’s not talking. Instead, she offers him a bribe to keep her secret.

But Duke doesn’t want her money. He wants to know why this woman is on the run. And as long as the star shines on his badge, he’s going to find out.

So far I'm enjoying this. Its simple. It isn't hitting me like her other series but I think the famous trope doesn't really do it for me that much. Its a nice dynamic the sheriff and the country singer but its going to blow up somehow

Ifs moved quite quickly but I kinda saw it going that fast the chemistry is quite good between these two.
So I also fuess Travis is going to be the problem in this one. I just hope its not like in The Eden series..

Oh man everything is going to break lose now that Lucy sang at the bar. One person has to recognize her. I guess that's the bar owner. Hard to believe no one else does...yet.

That was a fast paced ending, although perhaps a bit predictable that Duke takes the bullet for Lucy. It's rotten that the label was so shady. I'm glad book two is about Everly. I did enjoy this and would say it's a solid 3.5 for me. (hide spoiler)]

Yeah super quick wrap up. I wouldn't have guessed it was going to be some back up singer angry she hasn't got a career and is blaming her for it. Interesting spin.
I agree I think its an easy 3.5 stars. I'm very curious about Everly and Hux. Excited for that one.

Yes, I had no idea it was a back up singer either. I'm hoping that since the next book is about Hux and Everly we learn more about Savannah and Travis. I hope we learn why Everly got married so quickly...did she know Hux from before? (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ oh it is def going to blow up. I liked the stranger with attraction in Yellowstone and then her pulling her over being same guy. It is not as spicy as her others are, actually liking that part for a bit of a break (hide spoiler)]
