Fantasy Book Club discussion

Good evening.
I'm looking for a wee bit of help to find the name of a female author,unfortunately my mind has went completely blank.I believe she wrote a series of books,5 or six maybe,and all I can remember is the title of the first book is possibly Thieves/Thiefs Gambit or something similar,and I believe the main character had some magical influence over hounds.
Sorry it's so vague.

I bought it when it came out but haven't read it (yet).

I've read the whole series (which reminds me to add them to my shelves!)

They were good, very readable, with a likable main character, but (IMO) didn't quite rise to the top tier of books that feature female protagonists like "Deeds of Paksenaarion" or the "Inheritance" trilogy. (I gave the former series 4 stars, while the latter 2 series rated 5 stars from me.)

LMK what you think when you finish; I'd be curious.
