Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Haven't finished it yet, but the most well-written overview of history I've ever read, I feel. Quite a feat as it's been translated from the original Hebrew.

Have a peek at the sample, at least.

David Hadley Yes, I have heard about this one. No doubt I'll get around to it one day.

Michael Cargill (michaelcargill) | 2992 comments Added to me Amazon wishlist... but 13 effing £?

That geezer's 'avin' a giraffe.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments It's worth it, Mike. But I expect the price will drop once the DTB is released.

Jim | 21812 comments And a year later you'll pick up the DTB for less than the Kindle :-)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments We'll drag you into the 21st century yet, Jim.

Jim | 21812 comments I'm already in the 22nd century looking back Patti ;-)

Michael Cargill (michaelcargill) | 2992 comments Says the episode is not available on iPlayer.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Yeah, Jim said.

I found some other stuff on t'web from him, if you feel like a Google.

Fascinating stuff.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments As a few people are reading or are about to read this...BUMP!

Will Once (willonce) | 3772 comments It's an interesting book. There is a huge amount of human history that we know virtually nothing about. Enjoying it so far.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I'm impressed with how well written it is. Interesting without being dry.

Gotta say it lost it for me a little toward the end, though.

Siamac Rezaiezadeh (siamac24) | 3 comments Sapiens is a great book - really well written and quite easy to read and understand. I just finished another book called 'The Secret of our Success', which looks at similar topics, particularly the idea of cultural evolution. I highly recommend it:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/0691166854

It is more detailed than Sapiens and it is written from scientific perspective (the author is an evolutionary biologist) so it might not be everybody's cup of tea.
