This book was recommended to me years ago. I am finally getting around to reading it for week 20.

Not my favorite. Most of the time I felt like I was just trying to get through it. Oh, well.
It gets much better in the second and third books. This trilogy's one of my new favorites.
I thought the entire trilogy was dark and weird, but I read it when I was little, so I want to give it another try.
I also thought it was dark and weird...but oddly enough, I liked it. I am not going to say that it was Awesome, just interesting enough. I suspect it was really my first trip into the fantasy...sci fi-y stuff.
I also read it when I was younger and remembered loving it. I listened to the audiobook last autumn and really enjoyed it! I agree, it does get better in the second and third book, but even if you stop at the first one, it still is a nice story with very interesting elements that I find are "different" compared to other sci-fi/fantasy I've read.
It wasn't one of my favourites, but it was okay. I stopped after the first book as I just couldn't get into the second one (I made it about 4 chapters in)
