Oh, The Canterville Ghost is included in these stories! I heard good things about it a few months ago, and since then have been intending to read it.

Good to have you in on the read, Jaq-Lin. Be prepared for some fun and games at the expense of your southern neighbours!

I've read this one from a different collection of Wilde's, A House of Pomegranates, and I loved it! I'm sure you'll enjoy it too.

I want to propose a slight change to our schedule. The next two stories (Sphinx and Millionaire) are very short indeed and I think could both be dealt with in a week. On the other hand, The Portrait of Mr WH is very, very different from the first four stories in our collection and could prompt a heftier discussion. So, I would bring that forward a week and, without giving too much away about the story, we might venture into a bit of Shakespeare Sonnet reading if the interest is there.
Does that seem like a good plan?
That's great for me. I've already read the shorties, and I agree that it makes sense to do them in the same week. Will you open a thread for each?

Yes, I will.

You can find it free online here Vanessa - it's short enough that you print it out on a couple of pages if you don't like reading on a screen.

Editions vary in their contents but most seem to agree on the following. Dates are all Monday-Sunday.
"Lord Arthur Savile's Crime″ - Monday April 20th - Sunday April 26th
″The Canterville Ghost″ - April 27th - May 3rd
″The Sphinx Without a Secret″ - May 4th - May 10th
″The Model Millionaire″ - May 11th - May 17th
″The Portrait of Mr. W. H.″ - May 18th - May 24th
We can use the last week of May as a catch-up period and, if there is still interest, focus on frivolity. I could create a thread for Edward Lear's Book of Nonsense and/or Raffles: The Amateur Cracksman. We'll see how we go.
