I wasn't sure whether to put this in News or Meetups (because it's not exactly "news" and it's definitely not "local" for me), but something special looks to be happening in Minneapolis in October...

Nerdcon: Stories (http://www.nerdcon.com)

It's a small (3,000 people) inaugural convention about stories of all types, and the author line-up/guest-list looks AWESOME!!!!

I do believe this is going to be my first con -- seems like a manageable size, and yes, it's a great guest list. (In addition to the ones above, they're listing Jacqueline Carey and Steven Brust, amongst others. Although I'm having trouble on their website -- the guests' portraits seem to be covering up their actual names, at least for me ...)

^It displays fine for me. If it's a real problem, you could swipe from the bottom up to select the text, then copy/paste into notepad or something. Not perfect but you could get at the info that way.

Eh, I'm already registered, so if it's working for other people I'm not going to worry about it. Good to know, though.

I'm crazy excited about it :) I'll be driving ~1500km to get there though...
