Tamara Agha-Jaffar Read Sir Gawain and the Green Knight again. I've read it umpteen times. It is so delightful that I never get tired of reading it.

Third book in the series, with most of the myths being Hindi but also other myths and legends.

What did you think of it, Mark? I enjoyed it better than her Circe.

Mark Vickers | 4 comments I enjoyed it, Tamara. She's a very elegant writer and think that focusing on the love story between Achilles and Patroclus was a fascinating and somewhat daring idea (though it's not as if this is a new idea, since the likes of Aeschylus, Aeschines and Plato wrote about it millennia ago).

I've not read Circe yet, though I enjoyed the sample chapters. I'll have to get back to you on that one. Thanks for the link to your website.

Tamara Agha-Jaffar I finished Everything Under by Daisy Johnson.
A modern retelling of the Oedipus myth set near the murky river waters in Oxford. It includes elements of fairy tales and folk tales, conjures up a haunting atmosphere, and is very well done.

Tamara Agha-Jaffar I finished A Thousand Ships by Natalie Haynes. It's a retelling of the Trojan War from an all-female perspective. My three novels are retellings of myths, so I enjoy reading what others have written. I thought this was one of the better ones I've read.
