Jeff | 20 comments I read Dead Sea back when it came out, but I'll jump on board once you get to Entombed.

message 4: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet I am joining in for sure :-) hello to everyone !

Cobwebs-in-Space-Ice (readingreindeerproximacentauri) Hi, Mehmet:)

message 6: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet Hello Mallory :-) this buddy read should be lots of fun. Looking forward to start this one

Cobwebs-in-Space-Ice (readingreindeerproximacentauri) Yes indeed! I must reverse and catch up with Darkness on the Edge of Town . How's London?

message 8: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet We are having some beautiful weather at the moment. Lovely, sunny and warm. You be able to finish Darkness at the edge of town before May Mallory ?

Cobwebs-in-Space-Ice (readingreindeerproximacentauri) Oh yes, I'll read it in an evening, in between review books.

message 10: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet What's the weather like in your part of the globe Mallory ? :-)

Cobwebs-in-Space-Ice (readingreindeerproximacentauri) Too hot, too rainy;) nice today, but really heavy rain for the last few days. And yesterday morning, my daughter had her 7th, a boy (2 girls, 5 boys) so I am now 8-time grandmother plus 1 step-granddaughter.

Just noticed I already own Dead Sea, so will just need to get Entombed. What a pleasnt title:)

message 12: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet Congratulations Mallory :-) that is the type of news that always makes me happy.

Cobwebs-in-Space-Ice (readingreindeerproximacentauri) Glad I mentioned it:)

message 14: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet I have Dead Sea and Entombed both on my Kindle Mallory. You must be like the queen of your family. :-)

Cobwebs-in-Space-Ice (readingreindeerproximacentauri) Lol. Well, there are three living grandparents and one living stepparent of the 7 grandkids in Georgia, but I am the only one living with them.:)

Mehmet Hey no problem Jonathan, so far we have joining us

Mallory
Jeff (who will join us for the second book)
Mehmet
Jonathan
D.M.

4th May is the date we like to set, so the question for everyone, is that ok :-)

Cobwebs-in-Space-Ice (readingreindeerproximacentauri) Fine for me

message 19: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 92 comments Thanks everyone for joining!

message 20: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet Cool :-) this should be fun, a bit of useless trivia, Dead Sea was the first book I found when I started looking into reading other horror authors. This was before I found out all about Brian Keene, Edward Lee and Jack Ketchum

message 21: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet No problem my friend :-)

message 22: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet Thanks for setting up this thread. Jonathan did you listen to Brian Keene explanation of Dead Sea on the last horror show podcast? He said he has little recollection of writing the book, as he was going through hard times and was taking things. Stephen King said something similar on writing one of his books.

message 23: by Jeff (new)

Jeff | 20 comments Pretty sure that book was Insomnia. I also seem to remember him saying he was coked out of his skull while writing Cujo and doesn't remember that one, either.

message 24: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet Yeah Jeff I remember Stephen King mentioning Cujo before. Brian Keene in the podcast was not sure of the actual book, just that he compared the conversation to his experience in writing Dead Sea.

message 25: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet So everyone which book type you be using, I have the kindle version for Dead Sea and entombed:-)

message 26: by Jeff (new)

Jeff | 20 comments I have the kindle version, too.

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

I'll have the Dead Sea book now, so I'll join in the read in May :)

message 28: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 92 comments I am behind two of the podcast episodes! I need to catch up!! ;-)

Cobwebs-in-Space-Ice (readingreindeerproximacentauri) I have Dead Sea on Kindle, will buy Entombed when we reach that point

message 30: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet Ok D.M I added your name to our list. Seems like we got a nice group here. :-)

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks Mehment, just got the paperback, and now found it on my kindle DOH Must of downloaded it a while back.

message 32: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet No problem D.M, I personally always prefer to read the physical copy but it is good to have the option. The only way I can get Brian Keene books is over the Internet as they are not sold in the bookshop in London. So for time and space reason I buy them using the kindle.

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm UK as well, so had to order it :)

message 34: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 92 comments I am reading on paperback too! Though I prefer to read on the kindle so my book can stay in good condition. I am a fanatic when it comes to my Brian Keene collection!

I won't tell LOL - Just realized the buddy read is for the two books. I may only read the first one, see how it goes (really busy at the mo), if that's OK with everyone?

message 38: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 92 comments Of course! There is no pressure to read both! Unless you share my secret!! ;-)

message 39: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum :-) I share the secret of the zombie treasure with you Jonathan me laddie. Zombie pirates ah ah oy me hearties

message 40: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 92 comments How is everyone doing?

message 41: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet Busy busy my friend. Got a bit of free time though and been catching up on my reading :-) looking forward to Monday to start our buddy read. How are you ?

message 42: by [deleted user] (last edited Apr 30, 2015 07:58PM) (new)

Good, cant wait to start the book :)

message 43: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 92 comments I am doing ok!! :-)

message 44: by [deleted user] (new)

Sorry, J, how are you LOL.

I'm in a conundrum, do I read the paperback, or, the ebook. I won't sleep tonight ;-)

Cobwebs-in-Space-Ice (readingreindeerproximacentauri) Okay, folks--guess I can't see straight, thought I had Dead Sea--don't have it or Entombed and am still on book-buying hiatus, so will just lurk and occasionally interject:)

message 46: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet Read the paperback D.M :-)
Entombed is not a direct sequel so no need to worry Mallory you can read it another time. We will have fun I am sure !

message 47: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet I started reading the book :-) anyone else also began yet ?

message 48: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks Mehmet (y) Brought the paperback into the radio room with me this morning (hoping it's a quiet day) :)

message 49: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 92 comments Only started chapter one so far. I might take a bit longer then everyone else to finish it. :-)

message 50: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet Me too I only started one chapter. Did you get any peace and quiet to start reading D.M ? Going to read a bit more tonight. Think Brian Keene was going for a cliché buster here for his main character :-)
