So glad to have you in the group! Sounds like you enjoy quite an array of books. :) I love discovering new things as well and will read almost any genre at least once. Goodreads is a really nifty place for us readers. So many great groups and people to connect with. :)

Haha, well we have several challenges starting this month which are:

October Scare Fest
Trick or Treat
These are both monthly challenges^^

We also have a quarterly challenge that starts this month. You are welcome to join any or all:)

We have a book of the month poll where you can vote what you would like to group buddy read in October.

Soon we will be posting review threads for the challenges and challenge widgets where you can create a shelf for each challenge and then set how many books you would like to read for it.

Hope that helps :)

We're also currently reading Throne of Glass and Red Rising and will be continuing with those series next month if you'd like to join in the current group read or in the one for the next books. We'll also be reading the top two books from our current poll which you can go ahead and vote on. Feel free to ask any questions.:)

I'm going to sound dumb, but what is that? Is that an equivalent to a BA or BS degree in the states?

Lauren | 27 comments Hi all!
I'm Lauren. I read quite a lot, and have been looking for a group to join to gain more suggestions! I pretty much tend to stick to fiction books, read a lot of Sci-Fi, YA and classics. I tend to read multiple books at a time. Currently reading Neverwhere and Shatter Me, have a few others to start soon!
I live in Virginia and I fix computers for a living.

message 142: by Janae (new)

Janae Eason (theperspicaciousreader) | 3 comments Hi everyone! My name is Janae, and I'm super excited about this group. It's the first one Ive ever joined, so it's extra special to me! :) I enjoy reading (of course), writing occasionally, music (especially live music), and museums (total nerd - but proud of it!). I work at an education-focused nonprofit organization in Washington, DC, and I have an idea kicking around in my head for a book to write, but it's such a scary endeavor that I haven't gotten anything down but a basic idea. I suppose when the voices get loud enough, I'll put them on the page!

As for my favorite genres - I read a lot of things, so it's difficult to pick, but top 3 are probably adult contemporary, YA contemporary, and YA fantasy, in no particular order. But again, I read pretty much any genre.

Anywho, I'm sure I'll be seeing you all around the group! TTYL!

message 143: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4614 comments Hi Janae! We're so glad you joined! What genre do you have in mind for your book? I too like YA contemporary and fantasy! Please feel free to join in any of our November challenges as well as our fall quarter challenge.
