Gym Candy question

..an anti-teen in just about every decision he made in the book? Please tell me someone else found Mick to be a tad bit unbelievable as a "typical" teen! Sure, I get that he wanted to be alone most of the time and that football was his life.. but I just dont see his character as doing the things he did in the book (especially with the moronic decision of carrying his steroids with him in the most suspicious way at all times).
