Lara (elbe) | 39 comments Hey guys!! So I am rereading the Fever Series to try and pick up more clues and I was reminded of something that bothered me the 1st go around as well.
Maybe I should know this.....but I don't! Mac talks about guys being either a 'Leftie' or a 'Rightie' and although I have some thoughts, :) , bouncing around my head about what it means - I really want to know for sure! Especially since she told Barrons he was "so a leftie" (was it Leftie?), and he responded with "Touche". Somebody please.....enlighten me :)

Nichole (DirrtyH) (dirtyh) Oh, this drove me crazy when I read them too and I also had to ask.
I thas to do with how a man "packs his package" so to speak - which way he arranges things in his pants... you know? ;)

message 3: by Nita (new)

Nita (gillnit) Is that what it means? I thought she was talking about the fact that guys' *ahem* tend to naturally lean one way or the other. :D

message 4: by Laura Lulu (new)

Laura Lulu (lauralulu) I'm about halfway through the 1st book and haven't gotten to that yet. It gives me hope that things will get more fun, since right now I am wanting to strangle Mac and her betty-sue, "I am so physically perfect" asides to the reader and her righteous southern indignation at everything. Ugh.

But Nita, I guess whichever way a guy's junk leans is probably the side he tucks it, at least that's how I'd do it--why go against the grain? LOL.

message 5: by Nita (new)

Nita (gillnit) That makes sense Laura. And Mac does start out pretty annoying. But she really grows throughout the series. She has too if she is going to survive.

message 6: by Lara (new)

Lara (elbe) | 39 comments LOL - thanks guys! I was thinking along the lines of the 'lean' as well. I guess I just got thrown off by that specific conversation between Mac and Barrons. I thought it was either a pointless comment or I was missing something - guess it was just pointless.

Laura - Mac can definitely be annoying!! I want to smack her with her pink nail fetish (I'm just NOT into pink at all)! But she will hopefully grow on you - she did for me. I think by the end of book 1 I was hooked and could not put the series down!

Tina | 130 comments I'm laughing my @ss off reading this thread ...

I'm going to start the Fever series soon so I'll make sure to keep this mind, LOL.

I just finished the 1st one and you're right--I just put the others on hold at the library.

And Mac has gotten less annoying, but it's not her I'm getting the next books for, it's Barrons. Yummy. :)

ok guys--a quick question--what is the FIRST book in this series? "Fever" is not specific enough to determine. :o)

message 10: by Laura Lulu (new)

Laura Lulu (lauralulu) Here's the order--

Darkfever (Fever, #1) by Karen Marie Moning Bloodfever (Fever, #2) by Karen Marie Moning Faefever (Fever, #3) by Karen Marie Moning Dreamfever (Fever, #4) by Karen Marie Moning

Sally (larwos) | 258 comments I just picked up Dark Fever at the library, so I'm on my way. I'll let you know how i like it.

LOL.....I know it is too funny! I just had to ask. Please do let me know what you guys think. Wait until you're almost 1/2 way through with the second one to make your decision. I swear they have become my favorite!

message 13: by Lara (new)

Lara (elbe) | 39 comments Oh and its definitely NOT Mac that keeps me coming back.

Barrons........raawrr.....

message 14: by Jessie (new)

Jessie | 128 comments OK, so I hadn't heard of this series, though I think I have seen the author since I work part time at a Borders. Now you all have me wanting to check it out!! Is her Highlander series good as well? That seems interesting too!

message 15: by Laura Lulu (new)

Laura Lulu (lauralulu) Jessie, I haven't read her Highlander series, but from what I've read on here, the Highlander series is PNR and the Fever series is UF.

In other words, the Highlander books have different main characters in each book who get their HEA at the end of the book, with the emphasis of the book being on the romance.

The Fever series drags out the chase aspect of the romance, with none in the first book (that's all I've read so far) with the emphasis of the book being on the storyline.

message 16: by Barbara ★ (new)

Barbara ★ Jessie, IMHO her Highlander series is much better than her Fever series. The Fever series bored me to death but the Highlander series kept me riveted to the pages and I added all of them to my keeper shelf. The Fever books I couldn't wait to get rid of.

I ♥ Bookie Nookie (bookienookiereviews.blogspot.com) (ibookienookie) in one of the books --i am pretty sure she explains it as the way Nichole put it--they way he "packs his package"

Jessie - I think it just depends on what you're into. I love the Fever Series! Action, the drag out romance that leaves you wanting more, the kick 'ars' characters, and the books leave you wondering WTH is going on?? To me they are suspenseful and I just keep wanting more and am rereading them to see if I have missed any clues along the way (BTW - I have and now have more theories as to what's going on). On the otherhand I have read a couple of the Highlander books and I DO NOT like them near as much. I get into them enough to entice me into reading the other stories in the series which says a lot for someone like me. I have an extremely hard time with books based solely on romance, i.e. - I read one of the Black Dagger Brotherhood books and probably skimmed about 50% of the pages just wanting to get to the point! I get bored with stories just about characters and romance. BUT the Highlander series was entertaining enough so that I will go back for more. So like I said - I think it depends on what you're really into which you would like better, and I mean like better than you like the other - so go for reading them both.

message 19: by Jessie (new)

Jessie | 128 comments Thanks Lara! I think I will try the first in the Fever series first (well after I read the books I already have that I haven't gotten to yet...LOL) Though I love the romance aspect, I do like it to be a bit more secondary to the magic, suspense, and mystery portion of the book.

Thank you also Barbsis! I will eventually check out one of the Highlanders as well!!

message 20: by Tina (new)

Tina | 130 comments I finished Darkfever. I understand why some people want to strangle Mac. But I've already started Bloodfever because the consensus seems to be that the books get better.

message 21: by Denise (new)

Denise (akaurora) | 59 comments I just finished the 2 book series from Richelle Mead (Storm Born and Thorn Queen). They reminded me of the fae series and the lead Euginie remnided me of MAC. There were no Vampires which I am really not into reading about (other than the Twilight series). The book dealt with the fae (shinning ones/gentry) and humans and their two worlds etc.

Euginie is a bad ass with special powers that she learn more about as the books goes on. I can't wait for her next book in this series coming out next year I think.

message 22: by Tina (new)

Tina | 130 comments I've reached the point in the books where she labels men lefties or righties. I find this weird and so out of character. So far every cute guy she comes across she describes them as righties or lefties. She didn't once do this in the first book. If it wasn't for this thread I would know what the hell she is talking about. It's just thrown in there. It's just a shocker to me because it is so out of character for Mac.

DarkHeart "Vehngeance" (darkheart) | 737 comments LOL, I have the first two books in this series on my shelf, waiting to be read, and I've read this thread with amusement that the protagonist seems to classify men by which side they dress? Goodness...

message 24: by A. (new)

A. Hall (tenover10) I don't mean to bump such an old thread but I'm currently reading this series and wished to add my two cents to clarify the context cited in the OP: Barrons is baiting Mac, saying he'll prove to her that he is a man when he starts to unbuckle his pants. Mac saying "you're a leftie" has no relevance to right or left; she's saying, "Don't bother; I know you're a man because I've seen which way you tuck 'it'."

message 25: by Peyton (new)

Peyton | 9 comments Leftie and Rightie definitely refers to, ummm, what leg of the pants an man places his, ummm, you know into while in "resting phase" LOL

Love the Fever Series. Disliked the Dani books. Well, the one Dani book we've gotten to so far, "Iced." I find her annoying and her treatment by other, much older, male characters to be incredibly creepy considering she's 14.

We made it through Iced, though and as a family are working through "Burned" in audio during long car trips and we're back to enjoying the story again.

Burned is supposed to technically be a Dani book. You know who KMM wants to be the main character by the book title. If it end with Fever it's Mac. The other books are Dani.

Fever (books 1-5) is one of my favorite series. I recommend just stopping there. I read through book 9 I believe and with I could erase those last 4 books from my memory lol

message 27: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Rayne | 4 comments This is still one of my favorite series. I'm re-reading it. So, I might have an unpopular opinion, but I love Dani. And Ryodan. I just hated that their story has been disjointed.
