This news made me so happy. I plan to read this book again. I always refer to it as the book that I never wanted to end. I think history should be taught from it.

This was an excellent book. The writing was wonderful and novel-like, and the lives of the three main characters whom author Isabel Wilkerson decided to focus on were compelling. It was also a pretty thick, 600 page book. So it will definitely be interesting to see how the scriptwriters will distill these stories for TV. If you haven't read the book, you probably should before the series makes its debut. I for one, can't wait to see how it the series.
I loved this book. I'm not sure how I feel about a dramatization of the book though. I would love to see it as a serialized documentary.

I am happy to announce that shonda rhimes the creator of greys anatomy and scandal is set to produce an adaptation of this book for FX.
I had this book on my to read list for a while and I guess I better get to reading.
