Valerie | 280 comments I started this last year at work while on lunch break, and after the end of the school year, forgot to get back to it. (Surprising, I know!)

Like most of the Monk books, this book has him doing his magic with observation, and sensory to details. And, like the others he is showing off his phobias. I felt it went a little overboard and stretch some of the phobias, but it I was able to get past if for the sense of the story.

The story revolves around his old nemesis from the TV show, and is interesting in that it really tries to make the minor characters in the story more a part of the solution than Mr. Monk.

This is the 15th of the books by this author and the last from him in this series (there is another writer who took up the pen for another book following this one.)

I am not sure this book had the same flare and humor as the others, and I feel that Goldberg may have been correct in stopping. Perhaps he was out of good ideas.

I am glad I finished it...but, I am not surprised I did not really feel like I missed anything in the time I went away from it, as it was not his best work.
