Lyndol Burns Parrish (dixiebelle72) | 14 comments Howdy :) I am looking for historical romances where there is an evil and scheming woman in love with or wants to marry the hero but the heroine ends up with him. The more evil and scheming the woman is after the hero the better. The heroine can be any type of heroine (poor, rich, wallflower, etc.) as long as the heroine ends up with the hero and not the scheming evil female. I also am looking for historical romances where the heroine destroys an attempt on the hero by a scheming female to trap him into marriage. If this is what brings the heroine to the heroes attention great but if they already know each other that is fine. Historical romances that there is an evil scheming woman in love with or wants the hero when he is already married is OK too. Ex mistress, current mistress, friend, or even maybe someone he barely knows is OK as long as she wants him or is in love with him and tries to destroy his marriage or wife. BTW hopefully the scheming evil woman in any of these themes gets exactly what she deserves and the more she gets what she deserves the better. So pretty much in all of these themes an evil plotting woman in love with or after the hero but she doesn't get the hero and gets what she deserves and the more evil and scheming she is the better. I'm also looking for a historical romance novel title. I read it in a paperback but I believe it was a very popular book so there would be an ebook of it. Read it about 2 years ago. Majority took place in the Highlands or Scotland. The biggest thing I remember in it is that when the Heroes (which I think was a Laird) new brides belongings arrived on the carts at their home a good many of the brides furniture and things had been destroyed by a jealous woman that was either in love with the hero or had planned on marrying him. I think this jealous woman was a member of the clan and also causes more problems with the hero and heroines marriage and she hates the heroes new wife. I can't remember if it was an arranged marriage or not but I do remember in the beginning they didn't seem to really know each other. I do remember they had constant trials and things happening. This is the only historical romance I've ever read that a jealous woman that wanted the hero destroyed the heroines things while they were still on the carts when they first arrived at the castle set in Scotland or the Higlands. If you know what book this is I really appreciate it. I know I have asked a whole lot in this one post but I'm retired military and read all day everyday so I have read 1000s of books so finding historical romances a with these themes is becoming very diffucult. I've recently even started looming for historical romances that have ghosts in them just to find new books I hadn't read lol. If anyone wants a book suggestion or help on a book don't hesitate to ask. One of the few benefits of me having read so many books. Thank you so much for any suggestions and taking the time to help me. I sincerely appreciate it. I hope you all have a wonderful day :)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) | 14527 comments The Velvet Promise might qualify.

In regards to book you are describing, it sounds like a Julie Garwood book but I can't remember the title at the moment.

Lyndol Burns Parrish (dixiebelle72) | 14 comments Thank you :) I will scroll through her books to see if one of them are it. As far as looking for new books to read as long as they have a jealous female trying to steal the hero I'm happy lol.

Dianne (des03) | 12 comments I think it might be The Bride by Julie Garwood. Alex Kincaid is a Laird who is forced by the King to marry an English girl. He and his friend could choose their brides from four sisters Alex chose the youngest called Jamie. The rumour was Alex killed his first wife. I remember her furniture and tapestries were sent to her new home in the highlands and there was a member of the clan who believed she should be married to Alex Kincaid.
