I always want a mr. Darcy too but then I thought Bingley is not that bad , just easily swayed . Everyone wants a guy who was initially proud and haughty?

That's the fault of wanting such a Mr. Darcy that is cold and haughty towards you: it's not realistic in the real world, and the real world guy most likely won't change from that if that's how he treats you throughout your relationship.

But the thing with P&P, it's not saying to go out and find a guy who acts like Mr. Darcy in the beginning of the book, because Elizabeth rejected that kind of guy until he humbled himself and was nicer. It's not impossible for people to change, and because he did, then Elizabeth entertained the thought of loving him, not devotedly loving him from the start, as some fans of Pride and Prejudice try to do today.
Personally, a Bingley type of guy would be great as a friend, but not as a boyfriend or husband. To me, he's too much of a pushover, only doing things because he got permission (He left because his family and friend wanted him to, and only went back because he got permission to). Yes, he's sweet and nice, but he is too easily swayed.

I think everyone wanting Mr. Darcy is like all the girls chasing after the bad boy today. Although everyone knows he has not so good qualities but the idea of him changing for you and only you is just marvelous. It's not necessarily him they want just the feeling of being special and having someone change their personality because they love you that much.

I never saw Mr. Darcy as a "bad boy" type. He was misunderstood, because he was surly and moody. But Elizabeth does find out that he had been mistreated by Wickham, that he is a loving brother, and that he has always been a loyal friend to Bingley. The events and conversations that led her to despise him were a series of misunderstandings, with the glaring exception of his demeaning remarks toward her at the ball when they first met. But ultimately she is able to see the good in him in spite of his arrogance.

Because a strong man like mr darcy presents a challenge, Mr bingley is too soft and malleable ...

I thought Darcy was a bit of an ass. I don't know if I would have liked Bingsley as anything more than a friend though, because of his easy going and affable nature. He was a bit too easy to sway and that made me question the true depth of his affection. I felt that a man truly in love would not have been so easily swayed. A man truly in love would also know the woman that he was in love with and would know whether what another is saying about her is true or not. They barely knew each other, imo and what they did know seemed very superficial.

In my opinion Because Mr. Darcy is a kind of person who will stand with you if anything goes wrong ( I m talking about second half of the Book).

I was always a fan of Mr. Bingley. Bingley represents the love of youth. Innocent, whole hearted, and insecure; easily persuaded because of this. As he ages he will grow into himself while learning who he is and can become confident and have a mind of his own. The possibility is there if one has the patience to wait. Darcy has had disappointments and heartbreaks, hardening his heart to the outside world. Hes harder to reach and keeps himself aloof so he won't get hurt. In the end his love is just as deep just more reserved. Both romantic heroes just depends on what you're looking for on what you see.

For me, when I think of Mr. Darcy, automatically Colin Firth comes to mind : ) LOL.
Also, with Mr. Darcy, he's seems more realistic than Mr. Bingley. In real life, people are gonna misunderstand things that someone will say or do, like Elizabeth did with Darcy.
Another reason i noticed, Mr Bingley fell for the shy, innocence and obedience Jane, while Darcy fell for the strong determined female lead Elizabeth. I dont know what others may think, BUT i know that I was to be known as strong and determined, not shy and obedience.

I think it is because we get so close to Elizabeth that our view starts to be similar. We develop our opinions of Mr. Darcy througout the novel, and without realizing we become Elizabeth. Her views on Mr. Bingley are very light, so we actually never really care about him.

If Mr. Bingley was real, I would totally date him. I think that it's because the book more prominently features Mr. Darcy, and through Elizabeth eyes you grow to fall in love with him with her.
However that being said, in IRL I would find Darcy annoying.

Bingley is alluring but Mr Darcy is better

Mr.Bingley is too good for his own good. Just as he accepts Mr.Darcy's advice to give up Jane, he is very easily swayed by other people's opinions.

He and Jane are a good match because both are somewhat naïve when it comes to the real world.

Binghley had looks, he had money, he was even reasonably social. He was also a follower, not a leader. The problem with being attached to a follower is that you are not only living at the whim of your husband, you're living at the whim of each and every one of his friends. If his friends are intelligent, that's more of an inconvenience than a problem. If they're shallow and stupid, you're going to find yourself endlessly digging yourself out of holes. When you're with the alpha male, like Darcy, you only have to contend with him; meaning that you will have fewer fires to put out. That's why I'd rather be with Darcy than Binghley.

Because a bad boy secretly being really good underneath is EVERY girl's dream! Bingley is not manly enough. He's kind of humorous.
