Cover to Cover Challenge discussion

Ok, this year (2009) my goal was 125, I think I am going to make that but it will be a close thing, so upping my goal to 144 is going to be a real challenge for me. I hope I am up for it.
Thanks for the invite Crystal, I am so excited about getting to this new year. I have such a large TBR that it will be fun to watch it dwindle down, and probably grow with more recommendations from other readers.

What a great idea~I read like a crazy person and keep a book diary with the name author and date, basically just because of getting older and to stop that "I am sure I read this book before" I started it about 9 years ago, but I never counted the books that I read in one year! Hope I can reach the goal with the rest of you YOUNG PEOPLE!! I don't watch much T.V. at night and that is my reading time. So, looking forword to the first of the year to start!!

I started doing the same thing last year, even cutting and pasting a short synopsis--and even with the books I started and couldn't finish. Thax for the compliment on young people, haha isn't the invisiblity of the internet great!

I have actually gotten into a habit of writing synopsis and reviews of every book I read, more for me than anyone else. That way when I go back I have a gentle reminder of what the book was about. My dh calls it a kick-start to my memory.

January is over and so far so good.

Positive Force
Slave to Sensation

I've been keeping a book journal (written)since sometime in 1997 and I wish I kept it before that. Because I don't remember the books of back then. I know most of them but still it's guessing. In the beginning I only did date I finished it and maybe title, author and a rating. Then in later years I added more info and for awhile now it's mostly a page to a book so the journal or whatever I use has to have enough pages. It's usually a spiral book. Now last year with joining good reads I have the bookshelves here I keep and doing this challenge I have alot of places I have to remember to put my finished books on. Last year at times I felt like doing the book journal was like pulling teeth I was getting behind even though I did keep up. The comment section wasn't as good since most of the time it wasn't right after I finished the book. Now I'm back to how I started that I have to write it when I finish the book. At least write it on a piece of paper so I can move it to the journal when I get home if I'm at the shore or someplace.

*** Yeah, I hit my 100 books today. For someone like me (I always struggled in school with reading) that is something to celebrate. I have been able to increase my books in the last 3-4 years from maybe one a month (yes that is only 12 per year) to reaching for the 144 (hopefully 150) in one year. While this month has been difficult for me to get to the book stacks, I hope that it won't put me too far behind.

WTG Debbie. With being in the 80's already (I think the high ones) I'm pushing for 100 too. I'm ahead of years past at this point so I'm happy about that. I just seem to be slowing down during the summer for some reason and usually it doesn't happen like that.

Yeah Me, with a month to spare I finished 146 books this year by the end of November.

I am going to track my December to see how many more I can get, but I am very happy for completing =)
