Roseann wrote: "Cynthia--for the Russia task (10.10) would a book about Russian Ballet be OK? Thx!"Yes

Thanks!"
I would think so - Henry is a librarian.

For the task 10.2 Louis Louis I wanted to read The Blade Itself which has a character who was tortured as has lost most of the use of one leg, had most of his teeth removed, his back was beaten so he walks with a hump and he has lost the use of his facilities. Would this count as disabled enough for the terms of this task?

Felina wrote: "Does the 5.2 red, white and blue task have to have all three colors in the cover? I wanted to use Outlander which is 100% blue.

Kate wrote: "For 5.5, would The Ladies' Lending Library work?
"Despite the title it seems as if no librarians or actual libraries are involved so no

10.2 - Louis, Louis - Would Blind Faith:The Miraculous Journey of LuLu Hardaway, Stevie Wonder's Mother - be acceptable?

10.2 - Louis, Louis - Would Blind Faith:The Miraculous Journey of LuLu Hardaway, Stevie Wond..."It doesn't have to be on the cozy list on that page but while TGWTDT is mystery it doesn't seem to fall in the cozy category so no on that one but Blind Faith is fine for the other

15.4 - My favorite game is Guitar Hero so would reading "Clapton" (based on the famous guitarist) be acceptable?
25.4 - Resolution: TO eat healthy, more organic and local farmers market
Fiction: Would "Local Girls" by Alice Hoffman (since eating locally ties into resolution)?
Non-Fiction: Omnivores Dilemma

The Tao of Pooh - works if Winnie The Pooh is your favorite Disney movie, Yes to Clapton, you should post the resolution question in the post for that task but I think it would be ok
Kate wrote: "For the second part of 15.2, would Camelot in The Once and Future King work?
"I had previously stated that it needs to be at least a fictional country as Camelot is only a city it doesn't qualify

5.3 Can I use a fiction book called the Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini since it talks about the falling of the monarchy in Pakistan or Afghanistan??
5.10 On the alliteration-Do all the words in the title have to start with the same letter or can I use Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Seth Graham-Smith??
10.7 My favorite TV shows are Dateline and 46 Hours Mystery. Can I use a true crime story or do I have to use a 48 Hours Mystery book that I cannot seem to locate the names of any?? Maybe you can direct me to a link that gives me the names of those books?
15.1 Make Me Lauch. Can I use The Golden CHild starring Eddie Murphy for the movie?
15.8 Can I use any book that has to do with Christmas or do they all have to be about Rudolph since he's my favorite movie?
15.9 I also am a newbie so I do not have a TBR Pile/Shelf. What could I use??
And Finally...
30.1 Dewey Decimal System. Again I am a newbie and did not participate in the 2009 Fall Challenge so where do I start to count. Can I start at 0 and go forward or back 250 and then again for the second book??
Thanks Cynthia--I am so pumped about this challenge thanks to my Librarian Lori in Benbrook, TX.

5.3 Can I use a fiction book called the Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini since it talks about the falling of the monarchy in P..."
5.3 - The monarch needs to be a major character in the story so no.
5.10 PAPAZ is ok because the word in between the two matching words is short.
10.7 True Crime is fine because it related to those shows
15.1 - I haven't seen the movie and it is comedy but I don't know that it's satire and its definitely not black comedy so no on that.
15.9 It can be any list you have in your head/on paper or books from an actual shelf at home.
For 30.1 you should post this the task post so she can answer on that.
And welcome to the challenge.

30.1 Dewey Decimal System. Again I am a newbie and did not participate in the 2009 Fall Challenge so where do I start to count. Can I start at 0 and go forward or back 250 and then again for the second book??"
Task 30.1 has the option to use a top rated book from your GR Read shelf. If you have not entered any books on GR, then use one of the books you love.

if you go to the help section and look under this specific task, there is a link to satirical novels. not sure about the black comedy.

I just discovered Jim Dale (who does the wonderful audio books that even I can stand to listen to) last year recorded Alice in wonderland. From the record in World Cat I'm guessing that it does not include Through the Looking Glass, but it would be worth listening to.

"Fablehaven is from what I can tell a fictional nature preserve in Connecticut so it won't work because it needs to be a fictional country/continent/planet/universe for that task.

I just discovered Jim Dale (who does the wonderful audio books that even I can stand to listen to) last year recorded Alice in wonderland. From the record in World Cat I'm guessing that it does not include Through the Looking Glass, but it would be worth listening to. "
The audiobook version I got from the library (Jim Dale, too) had Through the Looking Glass... so it's not an impossibility!

In literature a protagonist means simply "main character".

Cheryl wrote: "10.8 May I use Jerome Corsi's book "The Late Great U.S.A. The Coming Merger of Meixco and Canada" for a nonfiction book about Canda or is this too much of a stretch??"That book appears not to be so much about Canada really so no
Cheryl wrote: "10.3 I don't really understand what a protagonist is suppoed to be. My dictionary says that it is a leader in any enterprise or contest. If that's true can I read Ron Hall's Book "What Difference ..."Those both appear to be non-fiction for this task if it's non-fiction it needs to be about a person from the time period of the Harlem Renaissance (which these are not) - the first option refers to fiction only.
Cheryl wrote: "10.3 I don't really understand what a protagonist is suppoed to be. My dictionary says that it is a leader in any enterprise or contest. If that's true can I read Ron Hall's Book "What Difference ..."Protagonist is another word for main character when referring to literature

For the purposes of this task land refers to exactly those things a country/continent/planet/universe that doesn't really exist like Narnia or Oz or Wonderland

It's probably a special movie edition of The Lovely Bones... that's what I'd guess anyway.
June was apparently a bad month to have a birthday in this year. Most of the books look terrible, and I've already read the 1-2 I might be interested in.
