Ashley FL | 721 comments Would Palace of Mirrors or "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" (#1 -- sorry, can't find a link?!?!) count as being set in a fictional land (for 15.2B)? They are both on my TBR and I'm trying to fit them in!

Cynthia (pandoraphoebesmom) | 1332 comments Palace of Mirrors works, I haven't read the Harry Potter's but they seem to take place in England so no that doesn't work.

Ashley FL | 721 comments Thanks! POM is new to me and HP will be a re-read (since one of my kids is reading it), so this works out well.

HP is sort of an "alternate" England -- a part that is hidden to non-wizard humans. I guess that's not a country, though? anyway, moot point for me.

Lynda | 47 comments I hope that this is the correct place to post my question. This is my first challenge so I apologize if I am repeating previously covered territory. If you are asked to read a BOOK (and not a NOVEL) for a task am I correct in assuming that either a fiction or non-fiction title is acceptable?

Thanks

Pretty much but if there is an individual task you have a question about feel free to ask here or send me a message directly.

Hilary A (hilh) | 16 comments For the 15point task 3B I had wanted to use My Life in France by Julia Child, however it was written with a guy. Does that still count?

Thanks

I'll take it since Julia was the first listed author.

Rach (rachlovestv) | 261 comments Would this one work for 5.2, red white & blue cover? Flow The Cultural Story of Menstruation by Elissa Stein

message 359: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia (pandoraphoebesmom) | 1332 comments It looks like the writing is in black not blue but it's hard to tell from a photograph - if it is navy blue then yes otherwise no.

Sara ♥ (saranicole) | 1114 comments Hey, Cynthia... If it's not too much trouble, we've got some questions over on the thread for Task 15.4, if you wouldn't mind taking a look... Thanks!!

Melissa | 172 comments Cynthia, will this work for 5.2, red, white and blue?
Must've Done Something Good by Cheryl Cory

There is a bit too much green for this task.

You are right, it is black, and not blue as I thought. Thanks! That means I can actually use it for the "it doesn't fit anywhere else" task instead. :)

Matthew | 89 comments Cynthia,
For the Russia Task, 10.10 will the script of Fidler on the Roof work? Guess what musical I am in this year?

As long as it is 100 pages+ in length yes.

Melissa | 172 comments I know it is late in the game, but I recently got a copy of Library: An Unquiet History and wondered if I could use this non-fiction book for task 5.5, A Librarians Job is Never Done.
