The Omnivore's Dilemma
and
The Education of Henry Adams
Help please :)

9. OUT WITH THE OLD & IN WITH THE NEW BOOKS
A. Read The Book That Has Been On Your TBR Pile/Shelf The Longest.
AND
B. Read A Book Written By An Author You Have Never Read Before.

Thanks El. That's one down!

You could look through the five star reviews to see if any of the reviewers live in a "T" (or other initial) country.

Just FYI, I can't fit it into the Old/New task since I've read The Time Travellers Wife.
Thanks!

I'll try really hard to finish the challenge for you! :o)

I have already read some of her other works, so I can't use it for a new author.

Ok, thanks! lol
I'm trying really hard myself to finish the challenge! If I do, The Lost Symbol will fit for Tammy. ;)

April :(
Jennifer- Audrey Niffenegger was born in June 1963- so she's year of the Rabbit for 5.7 Does the zodiac sign fit?

Thanks, but no it doesn't - I'm the year of the ox.

You could use it for Wendy's dream vacation task if you would like to vacation in London.
You could also use it for the Dirty Job task if you couldn't imagine yourself working in a cemetery.

Thanks!

Her Fearful Symmetry (and I think The Lost Symbol) are both on that list.

"
Tammy, The Lost Symbol is a "5-Star" on Rachel Lee's list (Task 10.4 - Winner's Circle).
Now that we have BJRose's Snowed In task, you can fit anything in- as long as you get to 825 pages- It sounded like an overwhelming task until I realized it was really a 2-3 book free choice.

So far I have: Catch-22, North & South, Diary of Anne Frank, Notes from the Underground, Ben Hur, A Christmas Carol, Flowers for Algernon, Around the World in 80 Days.
Any recommendations?

I think I read in a post in the help section that Flowers For Algernon can fit into the Sci-Fi task as the "older" sci-fi book, but you might want to check on that.
A Christmas Carol could work in 15.8 Silver Screen Celebrations - you could read it and then watch it (or another Christmas movie).
Any of the others could fit into BJ ROSE'S Task (total 825 pages) or they might fit into JAN THE GRYPHON'S Task (multi-tasking)

Peter Pan
The Arabian Nights Tales from a Thousand and One Nights
Winnie-the-Pooh
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass
For 5.3 Royal Reading:
King Lear
Henry V
The Tragedy of King Richard III
For 5.8 Cozy Mysteries:
Murder on the Orient Express, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, and And Then There Were None are classic-ish mysteries by Agatha Christie
For 5.10 Alliteration:
Sense and Sensibility
Pride and Prejudice
A Tale of Two Cities
East of Eden

Thanks Rachel Erin!!

The Picture of Dorian Gray
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (pjreads)
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (roseann)
Leaves of Grass
The Age of Innocence
Emma
A Midsummer Night's Dream (diane)
Julius Caesar
Twelfth Night
Heart of Darkness
Romeo and Juliet
The Grapes of Wrath
The Old Man and the SeaAntigone
Tess of the D'ubervilles
Treasure Island (wendy)
The Secret Garden The Great Reads (rachel lee)
Little Women
Wuthering Heights
To Kill a Mockingbird (bonnie)
The Woman in White (bj rose)
10.10 Russia:
The Brothers Karamazov
Anna Karenina
Crime and Punishment
Lolita

Oops! I'm blonde...

Flowers For Algernon does fit the first part of the Sci-fi task. That is what I plan to read.

If your chinese birth year is Monkey then Ray Bradbury will fit that task.

"

Thanks for the info Jennifer - I hadn't seen that!

Kelly Corrigan's website isn't working for me. If she is year of the Dog, she would work for the chinese zodiac task, but I remember not being able to find her birthday.

I also couldn't find this author's birthday anywhere.

Any ideas on these?

Aside from BJ Rose's Task (Snowed in and loving it), where you can fit any book you want:
Truly Madly could be approved as a cozy mistery (you'll have to ask), for task 5.8
The middle place could fit part A (suspects, or colors) for Sarah Nicole's task (A game of clue, 25.3), since it has a blue cover.
And for The Space Between Us... do you want to go to India? It could be your dream vacation spot for task 30.6, Winter vacation dreams.
And remember that, if a book doesn't fit any 5, 10 or 15 point task, you can always read it for Abigail's task, Odd man out (25.5)
I'm sorry I couldn't find their birthdays either, but I hope this helped. :)

I've already used a book in that one! It's rather upsetting really as there are so many of my favourite authors that I really want to use for that one!

Sophie, if you could let us know which tasks you've already completed that would help us find a remaining spot for the book. Thanks!

Cheers"
You can always put it in Task 30.3 B.J. R,ose's Snowed In and Loving It.

You might need a ruling from Cynthia on this but I think that CLAY could also be considered a color. If so, it would fit Theresa's task 30.10.a

If you've never read a book by Fitzpatrick, then it would work for Task 15.9 Part B. It would also work for 30.1 Part A and 30.3.

How about End of Story for the job you couldn't imagine doing, teaching criminals?

I haven't read one by her before! Thanks Lisa!

It is her first book Andrea. The sequel is coming out next October.

Really?! Well, I might just have read the next one, this one was pretty darn good, considering I just picked it up at random! Thanks!
