I think this story is pitched for around 10-year-olds, or maybe a little older. If I remember right, the narrator is a girl whose father met her mother while he was stationed in east Asia (in Japan?). Her parents set a date when they first met, but each was worried that they wouldn't know how to eat in front of the other - with chopsticks or a knife and fork, respectively. They each separately get tutoring on how to eat before their date, but the mother learns British table manners instead of American ones.
Anyone remember this?
