Jeanne (jeannekc) Post here if you are currently reading our December read/January discussion book, Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson, or let us know if you plan to read for our discussion.

Please, no spoilers in this thread.

Jeanne (jeannekc) I just picked up my copy in anticipation of Brandon's book signing here in San Jose next weekend! He'll be at the Barnes & Noble in Eastridge next Saturday from 2-5pm along with Harriet MacDougal (Robert Jordan's widow and editor) to sign The Gathering Storm and his blog says he'll also sign his titles. I'm going to invite him to join our discussion of Warbreaker.

Jeanne (jeannekc) I had a nicer fat coupon from Barnes & Noble :-)

colleen the convivial curmudgeon (blackrose13) I might read it, if I can get it from the library. There only seems to be two copies in the system, and one is already on loan. I applied for a library card today, as mine is woefully out of date. I refuse to buy a hardback copy of a book which I may very well not like, coupon or no. But I am curious to read something by this author since I've heard so much about him, and I'd rather start with a stand-alone than commit myself to a series...

Mawgojzeta I started it Friday and have, at this moment, about 20 pages left. I am going to go crazy waiting for my lunch break!

Chris Haught (haughtc) | 916 comments I plan on reading it. I have a copy already from my BOMC2 membership. Huge fan of Mistborn, and what he's done with WoT so far.

alias Jane Doe (aliasjanedoe) Ack! I'm super excited. I haven't been following goodreads for a long time, but I got an email saying that we're starting Warbreaker soon, and I got excited since I already have a copy of my own. So I head on over here to check it out, and what do I find but this thread - where I learn that we will actually get to discuss with the author. I love discussions of books with people who aren't english teachers. English teachers are great, but... all the analiticalitude can sometimes blow your brains out.

I just made up a word. Analyticalitude. Analyticalness. Analyticalosity. I like it.

Jeanne (jeannekc) I'm in the middle of reading it and just love it!! i'm really looking forward to discussing it in January!

Chris Haught (haughtc) | 916 comments I haven't started yet, but definitely plan to before January.

Lisa | 14 comments I have requested this book from the library. I'm hoping to get it soon! This will be my first group read here and my first Sanderson book. I'm very excited!

message 11: by Josh (new) - rated it 4 stars

Josh (vadalor) I'm just finishing up The Hero of Ages, then I plan on reading Warbreaker.

Cecile | 61 comments I finished the Mistborn trilogy a week ago, but hadn't planed on reading another book by the same author right after that, so as to keep some of his work for later.

But what the heck! It's not every day you have the author at hand to discuss his book. Besides, the book I'm currently reading is boring me.
So I'm about to begin Warbreaker on my PDA (I got the ebook version on Brandon Sanderson's web site).

Christine (christineto) I just finished The Name of the Wind and am rarin' for another well-written standalone. Warbreaker sounds like the way to go, especially since the author has a free copy on his website (the Christmas shopping budget thanks him :) ).

~Sara~ I'll be reading it as soon as they transfer it to my library location. I'm also getting Mistborn since I've read so many good things about them!

Fox (foxmists) | 218 comments On my list to start soon. :)

Ridan Like Viktoria this is on my start soon list - especially since January looms!!

Chris Haught (haughtc) | 916 comments I'm reading now....I'm about 200 pages in...not getting through it at my normal pace, but I am enjoying it very much...the characters are interesting....

logankstewart I am reading this now, but I have only around 100 pages left until I finish it. It's been an awesome ride. Can't wait to see the discussion.

Caity (adivineeternity) I just started reading this yesterday when I ventured over to Brandon Sanderson's website and saw that he had updated the version he had available online to the first edition hardback. Stumbled upon this group today and immediately knew I needed to join, especially since Warbreaker is a current group read.

Elena I started the book today and so far the story has captured my interest. I had not read any of the selections in the past months, the stories had not grabbed me, but this one has. Love the magic!

Sandi (sandikal) I'm a couple of hours into the 24 hour long audiobook version. It's pretty good so far, but it's going to take a long time to get through it.

colleen the convivial curmudgeon (blackrose13) I started it yesterday. Seems interesting enough so far.

Laura (imperfectreader) I just got it from the library tonight and I'm 100 pages in. I'll have time to really get into it this week and should finish it this weekend. I really liked the Mistborn trilogy so I was happy to see Warbreaker up. Looking forward to the discussion in Jan.

Cheryl a.k.a Poptart (Poptartgoober) AHHHH! Im sooo behind I just started reading it the other day. Oh darn guess I will just have to stay up all night reading. ^_^

Alycia (alyciac) I'm way behind too ... I just got my copy two days ago. So far, I'm fascinated.
