Danelle (aladynamedd) | 33 comments Usually I go to BN.com and on the front page they'll have a book that will get me interested. So when I came across this podcast I was excited. I started learning about new authors, and new books, that I most likely otherwise would have never heard of. (THANK YOU FOR THAT!)

And because of that I began searching deeper for new books to read. I use the word new loosely because the book or author might not be new, but I just heard of him/her or the book. About a week ago I was reading a book which referenced the author Anais Nin a lot. So i googled her. As I read about her, I wanted to read her novels. I ordered two, and posted something about her on facebook, only to learn that my cousin reads her novels, and loves her. For the last few days I could not wait to read one of the books. It was weird. I love to read so I've always felt this way about authors I discover. I haven't until now realized that I do get overly excited, and I want to know does anyone get this excited when they discover a new book or author?

Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!
And then, I like to share the author with someone else for that second person to share in the excitement.

Have you read The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind Creating Currents of Electricity and Hope or The Help. Both debut writers who excited me in the past few months.

Anais Nin has been on my radar, but I've never read her. Thanks to you, Danielle, she'll move up on my list.

Linda

Scott Collins | 16 comments Night Camp. Doing the same thing with this book. Never read her before, but it's got great reviews.

I'm reading The White Tiger by Aravind Adiga. It is his first book and it won the the Booker Prize last year. I am enjoying it.

Scott Collins | 16 comments Night Camp is a fun trip down memory lane. Takes me back to the days of sitting up under my covers with a flashlight. Refreshing. :)

Thanks for opening up this conversation Danelle! This sounds like a perfect "Segment 1" topic... Mind if we "borrow" it? (giving you full credit of course!)
