Heather B (heatherbenson) Does it have to be Vampires? And if not what other kinds of books do you like?

new_user | 1389 comments Okay, based on your love of the Fever series, I think you need to read Richelle Mead's Dark Swan series, starting with Storm Born. It also has fae, a great heroine and sexy men. ;)

Also, check out Ilona Andrews Kate Daniels series. The first book is Magic Bites. It's a great series with great characters and action. I think you'll like it.

Did you want vamps? LOL.

The first Morganville book was hard for me to get through, but by the end of it I was anxious for the next one to be out! Myrnin is my favorite character from that series.

if you want some humour with your vamps, try I'm the Vampire, That's Why and the rest of the Broken Heart novels.

** Dead Until Dark (Sookie Stackhouse, #1) by Charlaine Harris
The Sookie Stackhouse Series by Charlaine Harris is wonderful. It's just one thing after another and it get physically intense too. I must warn you that it is on going though.
** Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1) by Richelle Mead
Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead is just as amazing, but it appears you already know that and that it's on going.
The House of Night Series by P.C. Cast is also on going. I love it thus far. It has some slow parts but it gets you thinking and you watch as the characters grow. I did cry during some parts.
** The Summoning (Darkest Powers, #1) by Kelley Armstrong
Darkest Powers Series by Kelley Armstrong. This is not a vampire book but its full of Supernatural. There is a werewolf and a witch, not to meantion the main character is a girl who sees and speaks to dead people. It's very fast pase and the final book of the trilogy comes out later this year.
** Deadly Little Secret (Touch, #1) by Laurie Faria Stolarz
I would also recommend Deadly Little Secrets (A Touch Novel/Series) by Laurie Faria Stolarz. I love her writing. I've read all of her stuff and this is a great book that keeps you guessing about a very crazy stalker (including entries from the stalker). While I was at the climax of my vampire crave I came across this book and I fell in love with it. You might like this to mix it up. There is one more book to come before the trilogy is complete.

I don't know if that helps at all, but if you need other books just message me. All those photos are of the first of their series. Hope that helps in some form.

Fantasy LoverNight PleasuresDance With The DevilAcheronNight EmbraceNight Play (Dark-Hunter, #6)...

I love the Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon. I want me a Dark Hunter )preferably Kyrian or Valerius), a dark god (Ash) and a werehunter (Vane). SK's League series is also pretty good. Not paranormal, it actually reminded me of Star Wars with sex.

What else that hasn't been mentioned here.

Kim Harrison's The Hollows series.Dead Witch Walking Very good, with some very sad parts.
Keri Arthur's Riley Jensen series was also really good, but quite steamy, not for the faint of heart. Main character is a werewolf, but it has plenty of vampires in it.

If like just vampire romance, Linda Lael Miller has a series, starting with Forever and the Night, I think.

Teresa Medeiros has two vamp romances,After Midnight, and The Vampire Who Loved Me.After MidnightThe Vampire Who Loved MeForever and the Night

Mhollie | 178 comments Is Vampire Academy a Young Adult series?

message 21: by Heather B (new)

Heather B (heatherbenson) Yes it is, but it's still really really good.

Mhollie | 178 comments Thanks

message 23: by Heather B (new)

Heather B (heatherbenson) No problem
Are you interested in the series?

message 24: by Mhollie (new)

Mhollie | 178 comments I'm not sure. I don't really know what it is about, other than vamps and that I have seen a lot of posts about it. I am fairly picky about what I read. I do not like books written in 1st person. I have a very hard time getting through them. I like books that have a lot of description. Does this series meet any of my crazy criteria? What other authors would you conpare it to?

message 25: by Heather B (new)

Heather B (heatherbenson) Okay well first of all it is in first person so you won't like that, but u would still say that it is pretty descriptive. I can't think of an other that really writes the same, but some books I would compare it to are the Mortal Insturments series because of the plots both being full of twist and turns. But if you think that there is any chance you might like it I definietly suggest it because it is a really great series. And another thing about the books is that they have really great developed character which I find helps to get into the book.

message 26: by Mhollie (new)

Mhollie | 178 comments Thanks. I'll try a sample on my Kindle.

message 27: by Heather B (last edited Mar 18, 2010 09:11PM) (new)

Heather B (heatherbenson) K I hope you do like it, the series just keeps getting better as it goes too.
