This is a great idea. Thank you for creating the group.

Also, I wanted to let you know that I run a virtual TV show on a blog called The Lit Chick Show where I showcase the work of authors from all genres. Don't be misled by the name "lit chick"; it's just a play on words with "chick lit", but my show features fiction and non-fiction and I do this by way of video interview with the author. Check it out if you have time, and I would like to invite any author in this forum to approach me if they wish to be featured on the show. It's yet another avenue for free promo.
I can be contacted via email: [email protected]
Cheers, Sylvia

This is just to let you know I posted my novel, The Admiral's Woman to the thriller section. It is a spy/Cold War/espionage novel, but thriller seems the best bet.
If you think I should have done anything different let me know and I will correct it. thanks for the opportunity. As a recent member of Goodreads I am still not sure of what the righjt protocol is.
best wishes

I'm O. Warfield. I certainly am glad to find you all. This sounds like where I belong. I've written a book, Omar Blue and K-9 Town, USA, for "children of all ages", if you know what I mean. It's loosely based on my 120 lb. doberman, Omar Blue. I'm self-published with createspace, selling on Amazon.
My book is expressed in verse. It's a unique and exciting quick read and I assure you its different from anything you've read before. I'd love for as many of you as possible to read and provide your candid comments on it.
I have placed a few chapters on Goodreads and intend to put the whole book on but I want to learn about all the different opportunities I'm seeing on this site first. It's wonderful. I'd also like to invite you all to my blog, www.Omarblue.blogspot.com. The name of it is "My Dog Leads Two Lives". It tells about Omar Blue's life at home with his dad and me, and his life when he leaves us to go to his pack. I also offer facts about little known and rare breed canines in a very interesting way.
Following is a description of Omar Blue and K-9 Town, USA:
Mighty Doberman Omar Blue and his pack of fierce canines end their search and form K-9 Town, USA. With predators always lurking they survive by their fearlessness, love for each other and love for the town that grows quickly by leaps and bounds.
While the canine Elders and the puppies settle in, there’s no end to the adventure. What would make Dirty Sam the Grizzly have second thoughts about attacking the female Elders? Why would Coyote Red think he and his pals could tear down the wedding space even before Rottweiler Brady the professor and Poodle Sophie Jean the schoolmarm have their wedding? What are those naughty puppies up to? If that isn’t enough, whose hiding behind The Big Oak Tree now?

Julie.

O,
Does this winner have a Goodreads email account? If so, you could try sending an email to get a complete address.
If there's no way to get in touch with the winner, you might have to wait until he/she gets in touch with you. (Do they have your email address?)

Thanks for the welcome. I look forward to meeting new friends and participating in interesting discussions.
My techno-thriller novel "Perilous Panacea" was published by Savant Books and Publications in October and is available at Amazon.com (:http://www.amazon.com/dp/0984555234)and Barnes and Noble. I will add more details in the "Thriller" folder.
Thanks again,

Welcome to everyone new!
Amanda: I teach teens with autism but many (all) of my students are on a 2-5th grade reading level so I'll be sure to check out your book. :) Welcome again.

Thank you for your kind words.I'd like to check out your blog, if I can. Where can I find it?

Also, if you like someone's posts or have been chatting with them, you can hit their name & it'll take you to a screen where it says "send message/follow reviews/compare books/ask as friend". I usually compare books to see how much I have in common as a reader or just for fun if I've been chatting a lot with people. It was scary at first but most people said yes (& you just don't hear back otherwise) because this is a very friendly site.
So take a chance & have fun! :D

For the last few weeks I was attending the Taipei International Book Fair in Taiwan and let me tell you the desire to distribute foreign books into the U.S (as well as bring American "English" books into their region) is HUGE! It is all very exciting. One thing I noted which I felt everyone should know is that Amazon is the go to site for Foreign Rights buyers! Yup you heard me. Basically foreign publishing companies are realizing the value of Amazon and how it can essentially be used as a search engine when looking for new titles for rights purchasing. Having an amazon presence is more crucial now than ever as the site will only grow in the proceeding month/years in popularity.
That being said I wanted to let you all know I have created a blog to which I will be making 2 new posts a week all relating to Amazon. This blog will cover marketing tips, facts, and general information about Amazon. My aim is to help educate authors on using Amazon as this site should be treated by an author just as you would Facebook or Twitter. Social Media baby! ITS HERE TO STAY! Below is the link to my new blog! Hope you enjoy it and please feel free to leave comments!

Hi Fiona I agree with you 100% I too have met some really nice authors on this site and I am loving it.

Thank you Vincent and I just want to let you know that I was writing a book but I kind of stopped and now I am purely a reader. I mostly read fantasy and books like that so please don't be disapointed if I don't like many of the books that are being read by this group ok?

It's also available on Amazon Kindle, Barnes & Noble Nook, OmniLit and Smashwords and is listed on Goodreads. With wedding season coming up, it's a timely, heartwarming tale of a family's tragedy and a wedding promise unfulfilled. Here Comes the Bride. There Goes the MOB (Mother of the bride.) How far will a mother go to sing at her daughter's wedding? Nothing, not even a little thing like death, is going to cheat Rhonda Paver out of celebrating the happiest day of her daughter's life. Even if she has to cross over to the other side to do it.
I blog at www.petitfoursandhottamales.com, a blog for writers and readers.
