Hi, Vincent! Thanks for this wonderful and very necessary thread - connecting authors and readers is what it's all about! I'm Malla Duncan and I write mainly psychological thrillers for women - although I also write fantasy for children and books for African children. I'm on Smashwords, B&N, Kobo and Apple.
Great to connect with everybody!

Debra Goldstein (debrahgoldstein) Hi! I'm a fairly new member on Goodreads and a fairly newly published author. The best way to describe me is to say that I hate to be pigeon-holed. Debra H. Goldstein, judge, author, litigator, wife, step-mom, mother of twins, civic volunteer, Yankee, and Southern Woman writer are all words that have been used to describe me. Maze in Blue, my debut cozy, is set on the University of Michigan's campus in the 1970's. Go Blue! -- said even though I live in Alabama and am married to a man whose blood runs crimson. Although my first novel is a mystery, my favorite type of fun reading, my writings have ranged from non-fiction essays and legal articles to humorous law related short stories. I'm looking forward to being part of this group and becoming friends with many of you. As I write this, I'm reading Donna Andrews' Stork Raving Mad.

Sue Bursztynski | 7 comments Hi! I wandered past and saw this. I have several children's books under my belt, mostly non-fiction. The most recent is my YA novel Wolfborn, published by Random House Australia. I've posted a sample chapter on my blog, with my publishers' permission.

Nice idea, Vincent.

message 315: by LilaBird (new)

LilaBird | 8 comments Where should time travel books be discussed?? In Paranormal Fiction? In Historical Fiction? In Science Fiction? I don't know where to talk about my favorite books!! Books like:

Outlander
The Muse of Edouard Manet
The Time Traveler's Wife

What do you think??

message 316: by Chidi (new)

Chidi Okonkwo | 3 comments Thanks for starting up this group, Vincent. I'm the author of the DSNG Sci Fi Series and I've recently joined this site. There are currently 6 ebooks in that dynamic series, along with a separate short story of 150 pages. The main books are between 350 to 600 pages, and they're all available at Amazon.com.
Hope you can check out my blog, which gives details on the books: http://dsngsfm.blogspot.com

Thanks,

Germaine Chevarie | 38 comments I think time travel books should go in Science Fiction series. My own book."Drawn to the Light" contains time travel sections and that'is where I would want it to be. Till later discutions,Germaine

LilaBird | 8 comments Germaine wrote: "I think time travel books should go in Science Fiction series. My own book."Drawn to the Light" contains time travel sections and that'is where I would want it to be. Till later discutions,Germaine"

I think that makes sense if they travel to the future, but when they travel back to like the 17 or 1800's, there's such a strong historical aspect to it. And then what if there's romance in the story?

I really love books that defy genre......but then I don't know where to categorize them!

message 319: by Germaine (new)

Germaine Chevarie | 38 comments Put that way, I guess Drawn to the Light should be categorized as Science Fiction Romance. This is my weakness when it comes to genre. Never sure what it goes under. Frustrating!
Thanks for your comment LilaBird

Thought this group might prove interesting and informative. EM is found at my website or Amazon.com, BN.com, Towerbooks.com, Smashwords.com, and other local bookstores in South Georgia.

message 327: by Dana (new)

Dana | 30 comments So pleased I found this group. I'm an author of women's fiction, and have published two novels. "Beirut in Shades of Grey" (Ameera Publishing, 2007) follows Rasha and Luke, two people from different backgrounds desperate to make their love endure the trials of convention and war. In "Leah" (Smashwords Inc, 2011) visual artist Mar seeks refuge on the remote island of Puerto Franco only to become entangled in the repercussions of a mysterious drowning thirty years prior. If any of the women readers would like to sample either of my works, I'd welcome their feedback.
