Hi everyone, my name is Regulo Zapata Jr.,and
I am currently reading a fascinating story called "The Sunne In Splendour", By Sharon Kay Penman. A Glorious Novel of the controversial Richard III. A monarch betrayed in life by his allies. From the bedchambers to the battlefields. Excellent depiction and discription of the scenes of Royal families in battle in England.

I love reading history! Cannot put the book down!

This is one of my favorite books. I'm a Ricardian, BTW ... always remember that history is written by the winners, who sometimes have something to gain by villifying the losers. Richard was very much loved by his subjects when he was king, and by the people of York when he was their duke.

You might also wish to read
The Daughter of Time. :-)

Sharon (fiona64) Current reads:
Saddled How a Spirited Horse Reined Me In and Set Me Free by Susan Richards Gold Star Wife by L.K. Campbell 100 Stories for Haiti by Nina Adel Little Wolf Ranch by Magnolia Belle Cradle of Gold The Story of Hiram Bingham, the Real Indiana Jones, and the Search for Machu Picchu by Christopher Heaney The Twain Shall Meet by J Guevara

I have been slogging through "Cradle of Gold" for a couple of months now (it's one of my Amazon Vine review books). It's such a fascinating story, but the writer just plods along ... I swear, I've finished half a dozen other books during the interval since I started this one. I'm sticking with it out of sheer stubbornness, LOL.

message 63: by Mandy (new)

Mandy I am reading The Tulip Virus and this is a great find. I was a bit put off, thought it would be all technical about tulips but nope, although I am learning a lot about the tulip trade, especially in 1636. And here I thought tulips came from Holland.

Great story that I don't want to put down, am flying through it. A murder mystery but so much more.

Steve Anderson | 35 comments I'm about halfway through City of Dragons, crime noir set in 1940 San Francisco with a female private detective. It took a while to get the story moving full speed but the great writing is keeping me in it. I'm also a sucker for the period and genre.

Happy reading,
Steve

It's . . . just . . .delicious. Strange thing for me to say about a book. I make it through a chapter and just sit thinking "WHAT a character . . . WHAT an idea . . . this is so RICH . . . "

Sally (sallycabotgunning) | 16 comments Ann Patchett is one of my favorite authors and this is my least favorite of her books, so you've got many treats ahead!
