Be with Tecolote as he masters the challenges that young horses--and young people--face as they grow up and become all they're meant to be. Tecolote: The Little Horse That Could will inspire children and adults alike.
Join Sandy Nathan as she tells a true tale of a young horse growing up straight and tall, a youngster who will remind you of the child in us all.
The illustrations in this book are snapshots taken while Tecolote's story was unfolding. In using snapshots, the author wanted to bring you as close to the action as possible and introduce you to the real Tecolote, Shambho, Rosie, and all the other horses of Rancho Vilasa. This truly is Tecolote's scrapbook--welcome to his world.
The book has excellent ratings on Amazon and has won three national awards. I was really pleased when it won 2011 Silver Nautilus Award for Children's Nonfiction (Gr. 1-6) The Nautilus Award recognizes books, audio books, and e-books that promote spiritual growth, conscious living and positive social change. The Nautilus Award recognizes distinguished contributions in adult, young adult, teen, and children's literature. Previous winners include Thich Nhat Hanh, Eckhart Tolle, and His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

Well, I did....and that turned into a series!
The books are unique because I use real photographs, the story is from the dog's point of view, and he inspires good behavior in children like sharing, learning rules, and being kind to others.
Take a peek. Chester is a love and there is more to the stories than meets the eye! (We'll be on The Author's Show in about 2 weeks).

I find that kids enjoy over-the-top and the stories about Aussie crime in this are as over-the-top as you can get. Only thing is, bookshops never seem to know what to do with non-fiction for children - this one ended up in the adult true crime section of most shops!

I have written 10 children's non-fiction books for trade (two narrative non-fiction picture books, eight nf books) plus another 18 children's nf educational books. I also enjoy the research. My prime goal is to make information interesting and entertaining for kids. I'm an ex-teacher so familiar with educational requirements (that helps). Check out my website: www.mariagill.co.nz (and yes, I write in New Zealand).

I am most interested in cover design & illustration for children's or ya books, but I review all kinds on my blog.
Please contact me if you need a review of your book or a cover design or illustration.
Thanks. I hope I end up with a ton of kids books.. LOL... I love children's books. Unfortunately so many people writing them also think they can design a cover & illustrate them... That's like me trying to write a book so I have something to illustrate... it might have cute drawings, but I bet it would be lacking in the writing department. I love children's books. I can remember what an impact different books had on me as a child & I have done a lot of reading about writing for children.
Please contact if you need a review of your book on Goodreads, my blog, Amazon, Smashwords, etc. or if you need cover design or illustration.
Great to be here.

"Toby's Tales" is a semi-fictionalized series that tells the story of a little boy named Toby's adjustments after sight loss. They're based on my own experiences with adjusting to life after losing my sight.
The books are aimed at children, but have been enjoyed by readers of all ages.
There are five books in the series:
1. Toby's New World
2. Toby's Monsters
3. Toby's Outing
4. Toby's Games
5. Toby's Special School

My latest children's book is both fiction and non-fiction (a librarian's nightmare!)
In line with Left-Handers Day on August 13th I have now published The Race: An Inspiring Story for Left Handers in paperback.

Vicky is left-handed and teased for being clumsy, but a visit from her Gran changes everything.
Vicky’s Granddad has died and her Gran is coming for a visit. Vicky wants to cheer her up by embroidering a cushion as a gift, but Vicky is left-handed and she struggles to learn how to sew. She decides that winning a race in the school sports might be a better idea – but can she do it, especially when Graham threatens to spoil all her plans?
The story highlights some of the challenges faced by left-handers.
At the end of the book is advice on how to help left-handers; how to tell if a child is left-handed; the correct way for a left-hander to hold a pencil and to slant the paper; famous left-handers; percentage of the population who are left-handed; career choices for left-handers and cultural issues for left-handers.
The schools are finding the book useful in their media centres

This is the only book you'll ever need to handle the bullying problem!

The book contains stories for children about developing personal success skills and it is based on psychological and pedagogical studies. Every chapter of the book has a Parent's Corner, with a short description of the psychological concepts and exercises for developing each personal trait. Also, every chapter includes a poem because psycho-pedagogical studies demonstrate children learn easier by combining the linguistic and the „musical” intelligence.
We, the authors are university researchers and professors: G. Panisoara has a Ph.D. in Psychology and I.O. Panisoara has a Ph.D. in Educational Sciences.
The patience poem (fragment from the ebook)
Do you know Trici – the caterpillar?
She cried: her beauty was no thriller
But time marched on, as it went by
She turned to a fine butterfly
Here is why:
You want time to pass by quicker,
“I want to play now,” you dicker,
You want to grow up much faster.
But patience is what you must master.
If you have patience you will learn
To calm yourself and wait your turn
Step by step you will succeed
Patience is the thing you need.

My name is Adrian Hawaleshka. Im a new member of the group. I've written my first children's story called 'The Chair by the Side of the Road'. It is a story about a boy, Luka, who just wouldn't stop growing. The people of Luka's village, fearing this boy-giant will ruin their village if he stumbled, build him a home in the woods and a chair by the road where he would wait for his friends. Luka was miserable sitting by himself but one day a big dog came along and changed everything!
This is a story of how it feels to be on the outside looking in... about the frustration that comes when you feel 'different'... and how the love of family can give you strength. Luka shows us that family can come in many forms... even in the shape of a humongous dog

Children will surely fall in love with this likable teddy bear and will want to read about all of his adventures. The perspective of the teddy bear makes the stories easy to read and will encourage youngsters of all ages to keep reading to find out what will happen next to Squeaky Doo.

I am completing a science book for middle grades called "The Pumpkin Project." It has experiments, stories, trivia and puzzles about pumpkins in it.
The question is about some puzzles I would like to do about pumpkins in literature. Other than Legend of Sleepy Hollow, Charlie Brown's Great Pumpkin and some picture books, I'm coming up empty handed. There are no pumpkins in Grimm's Cinderella. Anyone out there know of some others?

Baby animals are cuddly and adorable. This pictures book consists of beautiful color photographs of 10 different baby animals. Each one starts with the question of what the baby of an animal is called, to engage toddlers so they can learn a little about animals. And hopefully fall helplessly in love with them.http://www.amazon.com/Baby-Animals-Ad...
Everyone loves animals. So do we. That's why we want to share this love with kids. "The Small Mice of Homesville" is a read aloud story for young children, or an easy-reader for beginning readers.
http://www.amazon.com/Small-Mice-Home...
In this picture book, beautiful color photographs of animals from all over the world are combined with the alphabet. One animal for each letter of the alphabet. Toddlers learn the alphabet in a fun way when they recognize the animals. And hopefully fall helplessly in love with them.http://www.amazon.com/Animal-Kingdom-...

This book especially written as an early reader was created to help children gain an interest in family history and genealogy.

Hi I'm Joanna,
I originally wrote this poetry book, Songs of the River, for adults like myself. As a teacher, I was really delighted when I found several older children taking a real liking to it. I'm currently working on my second book which I hope to take in to schools to do workshops with.
If anyone is able to give feedback or reviews I'd be really happy to provide a free pdf copy.
All the best,
Joanna

My name is Patrice Smith and I am the coauthor of the book
The Struggle: Mom and the Summertime Blues.
BLURB:
The story of four sisters:
Diamond
Shelia
Crystal
Felicity
who dread their summer break because of their mom. A timely and hilarious read told through the eyes and voice of adolescent authors about their perspective of Mom's summertime "fun".
Young readers will empathize with the youthful perspective of parents and "their ways".
Parents will enjoy reading about the feelings of the four girls in the story, nodding in agreement from the beginning to the end.
The entire family will enjoy this book. Instead of those great summer trips and long lazy days of summer, the four sisters complain about having to eat healthy and exercise, do homework and chores, and more. Throughout the book the girls tell of important life lessons taught by their parents. These lessons are told in a comical way.

I want to share with you my first book. It's ABC with pictures.
Actualy I'm a designer and wanted to create something beautiful and awesome and amazing.. I completed.. and i like it! :)
But whether it's like for children? I don't know.
So I want to ask you for help.
Could you give me a honest review, please?
My book will be free from 9/18/2016 to 9/22/2016
Regards,
Konstantine

Hello! I'm the author of this middle-grade (but really for all ages!) nonfiction book on wolves. "Journey" is the story of a famous wolf that traveled thousands of miles from home to finally find a mate and settle down. The book is filled with photos, sketches and maps. It is an absorbing story that also educates young readers. Journey can be found on Amazon, Powell's, Barnes and Noble, and Inkwater Press. https://www.amazon.com/Journey-Amazin...

Barbara, Erica is looking for books to feature on her blog- You would be perfect. https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Thanks, Danielle! My daughter is a bit young for it still, but it got some questions going for her. When I did a reading, I found that it was perfect for the 5 year olds in the room. It's tough to gauge unless you know kids very well, and even then, each kid is different.
