Fleur Tamargo | 3 comments 1) What is your name and bio? My name is Fleur Tamargo. I was born in the Philippines, and I currently work as an ESL teacher in Seoul, South Korea. I like debating, public speaking, literature, art, and nature. I also love animals. I'm an active member of Toastmasters International, and I won First Runner Up, in my country's national impromptu speech contest.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it? My book's title is "A Dragonfly's Dream", and reader can find it on Amazon Kindle. It is currently available on kindle Unlimited, where they can download the book for free if they are subscribers. Here is the link:

http://www.amazon.com/A-Dragonflys-Dr...

Book synopsis:

Alyssa Torres thought she had forgotten all about James after graduating from high school. James Delegrio, the handsome rascal, had teased her a lot back then. But sometime after university, images of him haunted her dreams for several years like a phantom she could not get rid of. In her dreams, she is able to truly get to know her old flame. For many years, James had filled her nights with sweetness and magic.

In the meantime, Alyssa’s “waking” love life suffers. The real world seems to pale in comparison to the beauty of their nightly encounters.

Alyssa knows that she has never loved anyone like the way she loves James. But will their love survive, or will it simply fade away at the touch of sunrise?

3) Where do you come up with your ideas? - I'm into art, so I'm very imaginative. I also was very into reading from a very young age. So I think I got the ideas from the other books that I read. I also like ideas which are unconventional. The ideas sort of just come to me in a disorganized fashion, they play in my mind for a while, and then later on when I start writing that's when everything comes together.

As for this novel, I got the idea from my dream journal. Every chapter begins with an entry in heroine's dream journal. Though the story if fiction, the dreams are actual dreams that I had in the past. You see, there was this guy who I dreamt of for several years, more than a decade, in fact. I couldn't understand why I was dreaming of him. When I looked at my journal of more than a decade of dreams, I decided to write this novel.

4) What books/authors do you like to read? - I love Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden, and of course, JK Rowling's Harry Potter series. These books were wonderfully written.

5) What's your next writing project? - I'm working on another love story, or magical realism, or historical fiction. I was contemplating on writing something about South Korea and the ancient castles they have. I'm also thinking about making a comic book about occult fiction.

Lauren Mayhew (laurenmayhew) 1) What is your name and bio?

I'm Lauren Mayhew from England. I'm currently working at Dotty Fish as a managers assistant and I have been here for a year now. I've wanted to have a book published since I was in infant school and now I've finally made it happen!

One of the first stories I ever wrote was a re-write of Cinderella. For some reason I wanted to write the story from the Prince's point of view and it wasn't the best thing ever written!

Most of the story lines that I have jotted down are a mixture of very strange dreams and plot lines that I wrote as a kid.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?

My book is called Reality is in a Dream and it is the first book in a trilogy.

Most dreams are a reflection of recent events in your waking life. Not for Liliana. Hers begin to reveal a forgotten life – memories that fill her with joy and fear.

When a pair of eyes begins to watch her from the sky, she cannot shake away the feeling of dread that washes over her with their every appearance.

The only person that she can trust to help her is her best friend Justin. Together they begin to decipher Liliana’s dreams in an attempt to uncover the truth, but it soon becomes clear that they are dealing with events that are far beyond their imagination.

The more that the two of them uncover, the harder it becomes for Liliana to distinguish between two realities. Has her thirst for answers put her and Justin in danger?

You can find all the details for my book here: http://laurenmayhew.wix.com/laurenmay...

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?

Most of my ideas come from daydreaming, though a few elements of my book were from actual dreams. I've had quite a few strange dreams that can be turned into books.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?

Obvious choice is Harry Potter, though I'm not too keen on J.K. Rowling's other books. I loved Cassandra Clare's 'The Infernal Devices' series, though 'The Mortal Instruments' was a bit of a let down. I read a lot of YA fiction because I find it a lot easier to read than most other genres.

5) What's your next writing project?

At the moment I am trying to write book 2 in the Liliana series and then after that will be book 3. I have ideas for a series of short stories all about my dreams. Some are plain bizarre and others are quite symbolic of events in my life at the time the dreams took place.

Garry Reed | 5 comments 1) What is your name and bio? – I'm Garry Reed, born in Nebraska but have traveled coast to coast and border to border as a freelance contract technical writer. I'm now settled in Dallas/Ft. Worth with my lovely wife where I've been writing paper and online libertarian news and commentary since 2001.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it? – After publishing "Selected Salvos from the Loose Cannon Libertarian" in 2014 I've just released "Selected Salvos 2" which is more of the same – a collection of 20 short articles from my website archives that deal with a wide range of political, social and cultural issues from a libertarian viewpoint. What makes my books different from virtually every other libertarian book on the market is that I write in my own unique "Fun&Freedom" style where freedom is always the message but fun is always the method. Reviewers have called my style "stimulating, amusing and engaging" and "bordering H.L. Mencken and Groucho Marx." Not your typical libertarian pontificating! Readers can download a PDF from my link below if they promise to read and review it.

3) Where do you come up with your ideas? – Everywhere. I'm constantly reading a widely eclectic array of websites, news sources, personal blog commentaries and social media online and virtually everything suggests a response from my libertarian worldview. I'm currently posting my articles on my national site "Libertarian News Examiner" and my local "Dallas Libertarian Examiner."

4) What books/authors do you like to read? – Again, nearly everything. I grew up on Mad magazine and Science Fiction (Robert A. Heinlein and his contemporaries), read everything Ayn Rand ever wrote before branching out into the wider libertarian world but also read history, biography, mystery, adventure, travel, modern and classical novels, nonfiction, more satire (Douglas Adams) and will read whatever grabs my interest next.

5) What's your next writing project? – As an online journalist I closely followed and reported on a group of courageous, determined libertarian rights activists called "Tyranny Fighters" who attempted to educate people about their jury rights in the face of hostile establishment opposition who harassed, arrested, jailed and prosecuted them for simply speaking the truth in America. I chronicled their efforts as they happened in some 70 news articles and commentaries and am organizing them into a book.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?

Urban fantasy, YA, NA, mystery.

message 306: by Eve (new)

Eve (ewkarlin) | 11 comments 1) What is your name and bio?
My name is Eve Karlin. I was born and raised in New York City and am a graduate of Colgate University, where I studied creative writing with Fred Busch. I worked in publishing for more than a decade in marketing at Random House and Newsweek and, later, as a foreign book scout. I live in East Hampton New York with my husband and sixteen-year-old triplets. CITY OF LIARS AND THIEVES is my first book.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?
CITY OF LIARS AND THIEVES is a fictionalized account of New York City’s first recorded murder trial. In December 1799, a young woman named Elma Sands vanished on the snowy streets of New York City. Twelve days later, her corpse was found floating in an abandoned well, and her lover, Levi Weeks, was arrested for murder. While the brutal slaying of an innocent girl rocked the city, it was the trial that made the case truly sensational: Levi Weeks was defended by Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr four years before their infamous duel.
My website is: http://evekarlin.com/
More information @ http://www.randomhouse.com/book/24793...

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?
I was reading Ron Chernow’s biography on Alexander Hamilton when I came across the Manhattan Well tragedy. Only four pages were devoted to Levi Weeks’ trial, and most of those focused on Hamilton’s oratory skill and his rivalry with Burr, but I was hooked. An illicit love affair, political intrigue, an unsolved murder: the story was brimming with scandal!

4) What books/authors do you like to read?
Working in publishing taught me to appreciate a wide variety of books and authors. I gravitate toward literary non-fiction and consider Truman Capote’s IN COLD BLOOD genius, but I also enjoy psychological thrillers (Patricia Highsmith, THE SECRET HISTORY, THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN) and literary fiction (ALL THE LIGHT WE CANNOT SEE, ANNA KARINNA).

5) What's your next writing project?
I did not set out to write historical fiction, but when I stumbled across the Manhattan Well tragedy, I was truly inspired. I began my research and learned that the well in which a young woman died 215 years ago was steps away from where I had once lived. I did not know about the crime, but I had been 22 years old, the same age as Elma Sands when she was murdered. It seemed prophetic. For my next writing project, I plan to stick with historical fiction. It’s tempting to romanticize the past, but the truth is far seedier.

Alex Bugaeff | 50 comments 1) What is your name and bio?

My name is Alex Bugaeff and I was born and raised in New Jersey. I’ve been happily married for over 50 years and we have two children and two grandchildren. We’ve lived in New Jersey, California, Florida, and now in Connecticut.

I’ve been writing most of my life, but only for the public with my last two books. I write early American history with a twist – I tell the history all in dialogue. A grandfather tells his grandchildren the histories in a series of story times.

I have a Bachelor’s (Political Science) and Master’s (Public Administration) from the University of California at Berkeley. I grow roses, play golf when I can and try to keep up with current events.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?

My new book is American Amazons: Colonial Women Who Changed History. It is the second in my Grandfather Series, the first being Pilgrims To Patriots, A Grandfather Tells The Story.

In American Amazons, Hannah and Carter’s grandfather, Gomps, has a never-ending supply of captivating historical tales up his sleeve. The kids have learned more about the early United States from Gomps than they have from school history classes! They noticed something bothersome, however, and they want Gomps to explain. Why are most of his stories about men? What about colonial women?

Gomps gets it. Colonial women are often forgotten, but the truth is, they played a vital role in shaping our nation. They built and ran businesses. They published newspapers. They founded and ran social services. They fought on the front lines against the British. They raised families in often dangerous circumstances. Gomps recognizes these women for the warriors they were: brave, outspoken, resourceful, independent, and rebellious. In short, they were American Amazons.

Gomps tells the in-depth stories of dozens of heroines, some famous and some barely remembered, who helped forge this country. The result is a book that helps children and adults appreciate the importance of our colonial women.

Pilgrims To Patriots http://www.amazon.com/dp/1478266848

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?

I let the colonial Americans tell me. I read their diaries, letters and reports and the stories jump off the pages.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?

Robert B. Parker, Michael Connelly, John Grisham, David McCullough, Ron Chernow, Carl Hiassen, Joanna Penn, David Garnes, for starters.

5) What's your next writing project?

I’m doing the research for the third book in my Grandfather Series. I have three or four other projects in various stages of development. I have a blog, too, but I don’t post to it as often as I should.

Elar Ericsson | 19 comments 1) What is your name and bio?
My name is Elar Ericsson. I am from the Boston area and I've been writing children's books for several years now. After a twenty year career in the corporate world I have decided to pursue writing full time. I love to write and illustrate, and being creative is a necessity for me in life.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?
My most recent title is "Jimey the Woodpile Mouse". Jimey (j EYE mee) lives in a woodpile on a farm, but he has a big dilemma - his woodpile is slowly disappearing! The farmer uses the logs to heat his wood stove. As winter grows colder and colder, the woodpile grows smaller and smaller! This story has fun full color illustrations with lots of things for children to find and discover, and the story and message is one for all ages. This is book one of a trilogy. Book two and three are almost complete.

It is currently free for iPad from the Apple iBook store, and it is available in hardcover at Amazon.com. In addition I also have two websites that have more info.

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?
Ideas come from many places. Sometimes out of the blue, sometimes from life situations, sometimes from a phrase or title that comes out of nowhere. This book, "Jimey the Woodpile Mouse", was inspired by an actual event, watching my good friend's cat chase a mouse around their woodpile in the beautiful mountains of Vermont. But the message is much deeper and came to me as I pondered the ageless feelings of home, security, and love.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?
Norman Bridwell, Richard Scarry, George Seldon, Dr. Seuss, C. S. Lewis. I was fortunate to receive a handwritten letter from the late, great Norman Bridwell, creator of "Clifford the Big Red Dog". After reading "Jimey" he wrote, "Dear Elar, Thank you for the book. You have a very unique art style. I like it very much. Being a mouse fan myself I appreciate the story." He continued, "I hope your books are successful. There is something special about making a child smile." I have no words to express what that letter meant to me.

5) What's your next writing project?
I am currently finishing the next two books in the "Jimey the Woodpile Mouse" series, which is a trilogy. I have also written a new book, which is not yet complete, about a brand new character - a very unique giraffe!

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?
Mainly my ideas come from vivid dreams I'm prone to having as well as songs that inspire me and random occurrences in my everyday life. Sometimes a conversation will inspire a conversation in my writing or something unusual that happens in my day will fit in with what I'm working on. Inspiration can come from anywhere for me.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?
I love authors like Wendy Higgins, Rachel Caine, Meg Cabot, Rosemary Clement-Moore, Amy Plum, G.J. Walker-Smith, and Jane Austen to name a few.

5) What's your next writing project?
My next writing project is called Finding Elizabeth. It's a young adult paranormal romance novel set partially in France during the French Revolution and partially in Brookfield, Wisconsin in 2008. D. Snyder | 4 comments Vincent wrote: [something about interviews]
Before we get to any of that, let me first say what a genuine pleasure it is to be here, able to make myself accessible to fans.

1) What is your name and bio?

I am writing under the name D. Clarence Snyder, not to be confused with Dee Snider of rock 'n' roll fame, though someone did once put a microphone in front of me and asked me to sing.

I'm a retired Master Sergeant (ANG), who has always wanted to write and tell stories. I've worked on the comic book series "The Tick," as well as having my own web comic series (more than one). Most recently I've shifted forms to writing prose and started a series of novels.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?

The first book in this series is The Cookie Caper. Set in a world where the largest corporations have achieved the legal status of "sovereign nation," a baker developed a cookie recipe that threatens the Oreo’s four billion dollars in annual revenue – a cookie so valuable that someone murders the baker, and one of these nation-status corporations hires the shape shifting mercenary cyborg called “Canbe” to recover the prototype batch.

Currently it's available in print from Amazon.com, and for eReaders from Amazon, Barnes and Noble, iTunes, Google Play, and Kobo.

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?

Wow, that's a good question. Generally, I don't know; I'm always flooded with ideas for some story I want to tell, or some character I think would be interesting.

Sometimes I get an idea from something I encounter or a news story. Cookie Caper might be said to come from the news when M&M/Mars bought Wrigley for 23 billion dollars. Chewing gum was such a gigantic business that it would be worth the kinds of fortune that small nations might go to war over. It might also have roots in certain supreme court opinions, that seem to favor special status for corporations.

But really, I had these characters (Canbe especially) just come to me a while ago when I was thinking about trying to create a new series. I had an idea about a world where being a mercenary was a viable career, and then I just thought about what she'd have to do when she wasn't working... sort of the secret mercenary next door, going to PTA meetings, babysitting, stocking her freezer with freeze-pops - that sort of thing. The story is just one of her jobs, The Armor Heist is another.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?

I grew up loving Douglas Adams, not just H2G2 I also reference Dirk Gently in regular life. With my military background it isn't a surprise that I cite Robert Heinlein as an inspiration. In comics I go through phases, sometimes a lot of Manga (Rumiko Takahashi, Masamune Shirow), sometimes superhero, sometimes more indy-like (Sergio Aragonés, Garth Ennis).

5) What's your next writing project?

I have short stories, series concepts, and such that I'm always working with, but the next big thing I'm going to release is the second book in the Bright Future series, "The Incubus Gambit." It's another of Canbe's jobs, but this one comes to her through an acquaintance, so it gets sort of personal. It also introduces some concepts to the world, like the dangers and reactions to synthetic parts... or absence of them.

Troy Kechely (rottndog) | 20 comments 1) What is your name and bio?
Troy Kechely. Adopted in West Berlin, Germany but grew up on a ranch at the base of the Continental Divide west of Helena, Montana. I currently live in Bozeman, Montana with my two rescued Rottweiler's.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?

My debut novel is Stranger's Dance.

At the foot of the Continental Divide, rancher Frank Redmond struggles to maintain his land amidst the bleakness of Depression-era Montana. Married but childless, Frank’s wondering if the long-term future of the ranch is worth the effort. For that matter, he’s considering much the same about his wife Abby.

When a stray dog wanders onto the ranch, Frank’s first impulse is to shoot it as vermin. Abby and Clay, Frank’s father, insist on adopting the mutt, naming him Stranger.

For Frank, it’s both the last straw and a convenient excuse. He parlays his skill as a stone carver into a job at Deer Lodge state prison, fifty miles from home. There he labors over a headstone for the warden’s terminally ill wife.

When he finally returns home, he finds Stranger more a member of the family than himself. Frank needs to regain his family’s trust and prove himself. To do so, he’ll need to emulate the dog he once considered killing.

The book can be purchased by order through any bookstore or through Amazon. More about me can be found at www.troykechely.com.

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?

Growing up with animals on a working ranch and also being the founder of Big Sky Rottweiler Rescue, I have extensive experience with the struggles of ranch life and also how animals can be the catalyst for healing and positive change in a persons life. All those experiences where what I draw from when coming up with stories.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?

I grew up enjoying Robert Louis Stevenson's works as well as Doyle's Sherlock Holmes series. As I entered college I got into Tom Clancy and Dale Brown where as now I enjoy Ivan Doig and Leif Enger.

5) What's your next writing project?

I'm currently working on the second draft of another fiction novel set in the 1960's in the mountains north of Helena, Montana.

V.W. Singer | 141 comments 1) What is your name and bio?

I'm V.W. Singer. My early years were spent in London, England, and then my parents moved to the Far East. Where I grew up.

By training I'm a Chartered Accountant and I've been a CFO, General Manager, and Project Director. I enjoy reading, mostly military SF, studio glamour and nude photograpy, as well as CGI art.

I write SM erotica as V.W. Singer, and Science Fiction as Bryan Romer.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?

My latest two novels are:

Port Royal by V.W. Singer. This is a tale of piracy, intrigue, and white slavery in the 17th century Caribbean, with battles at sea and on land, with a great deal of explicit SM sex.

Infestation by Bryan Romer. This is the second book of the Vampire-Tech series. It is "classic" science fiction featuring the re-birth of vampires and werewolves in the world through the accidental re-discovery of alien technology and the struggle to control and exploit the infected. Note: It is not urban fantasy or supernatural.

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?

Ideas are the least of my problems. I have always been a story teller since I was very young, and everything I see, hear and experience becomes fodder for my books. I also have a voracious appetite for new discoveries and history, especially military history.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?

My name is Jeffrey L. Snyder. I write under the pen name of JL Snyder. I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Creative Writing from UTEP. I'm a late bloomer when it comes to writing. I can always remember having a knack for it, but it wasn't until later in life that I decided to pursue it. Battle Cry was the first book I published. It is available at: amazon.com, Barnes and Noble, iBooks, Google Books and many other online book sellers.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?

My latest book is entitled Battle Cry 2 Shadow of the Sword. It is the second volume in a two book series. The story picks up a after Battle Cry, the first volume, ended. The heroine of this story, Kaí-Ling, was dealt a heavy blow by fate before she was even born. The death of her father, a man she never knew, haunted her every day as she grew up. Her father was struck down in the prime of his life. He never knew his daughter. Unlike most fathers, he was never able to watch her grow up or give her the love only a father could.

Now that the first part of her journey is behind her, Kaí-Ling is ready to face her destiny. Using the skills, training and knowledge she acquired, Kaí-Ling is prepared to avenge her father's death. How she handles the new challenges and pitfalls on her way to seeking revenge is a testament to everything she has learned.

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?

I'm the type of person who is always reading a good book. From comic books to Manga, action to suspense, history to science fiction, I enjoy reading. I'm also a very visual person always observing everything I see or hear.

Effie Kammenou (effiekammenou) | 723 comments Evanthia's Gift1) What is your name and bio?

My name is Effie Kammenou. I am a first generation Greek-American who lives on Long Island with her husband and two daughters. When I’m not writing, or posting recipes on my food blog, cheffieskitchen.wordpress.com, you can find me cooking for my family and friends.
My debut novel, EVANTHIA’S GIFT, is a multigenerational love story and family saga, influenced by my Greek heritage, and the many real life accounts that have been passed down. I continue to pick my father’s brain for stories of his family’s life in Lesvos, Greece, and their journey to America. My recent interview with him was published in a nationally circulated magazine.
As an avid cook and baker, a skill I learned from watching my Athenian mother, I incorporated traditional Greek family recipes throughout the book.
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Theater Arts from Hofstra University.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?

EVANTHIA’S GIFT. Available on Amazon in print and on kindle.
In the year 1956, Anastacia Fotopoulos finds herself pregnant and betrayed, fleeing from a bad marriage. With the love and support of her dear friends Stavros and Soula Papadakis, Ana is able to face the challenges of single motherhood. Left with emotional wounds, she resists her growing affection for Alexandros Giannakos, an old acquaintance. But his persistence and unconditional love for Ana and her child is eventually rewarded and his love is returned. In a misguided, but well-intentioned effort to protect the ones they love, both Ana and Alex keep secrets - ones that could threaten the delicate balance of their family.

The story continues in the 1970’s as Dean and Demi Papadakis, and Sophia Giannakos attempt to negotiate between two cultures. Now Greek-American teenagers, Sophia and Dean,
who have shared a special connection since childhood, become lovers. Sophia is shattered when Dean rebels against the pressure his father places on him to uphold his Greek heritage and hides his feelings for her. When he pulls away from his family, culture and ultimately his love for her, Sophia is left with no choice but to find a life different from the one she’d hoped for.

EVANTHIA’S GIFT is a multigenerational love story spanning fifty years and crossing two continents, chronicling the lives that unify two families.

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?

Many of my ideas came from real life events, and stories I’ve heard all my life. I’ve also incorporated my own experiences and people I’ve met or observed into my stories, using them in different contexts, or combining the characteristics of several people to create a character.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?

My tastes vary. You can catch me reading my favorite classics, East of Eden, or Pride and Pejudice or Nora Roberts latest books. My favorite contemporary Author is Sylvain Reynard, who wrote The Gabriel Trilogy. His use of language is breathtaking.

5) What's your next writing project?

EVANTHIA’S GIFT is Book One in The Gift Saga. I’ve begun to write Book Two, which will chronicle the lives of Sophia and her four best childhood friends as they navigate through adulthood and support each other through their struggles.

My name is Justin Bienvenue, I am an author and poet from a small town south of Boston, Massachusetts. I am a fairly friendly and outgoing person. I've been having my books published since around 2010 but I've been writing since 2003. I have probably been writing before then but I say 2003 as that was when I took a more profound interest in it. I have 3 soon to be 4 published works and 2 short stories in anthologies. When I'm not writing I'm usually playing games, enjoying the outdoors and watching or sometimes even playing sports. I'm a big football fan and am also interested in Horror, History as well as Ufology and Egyptology.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?

My upcoming novel is called Opium Warfare

It’s 1920. The city of Shanghai has been invaded by the drug trade. The drug trafficking and usage of opium have taken the city by storm. While the looks of the city seem calm, deep within there is a secret and nobody realizes that the small hidden drug world is about to get bigger..much bigger. The underground world that was once hush- hush is now slowly making it’s way to the surface to corrupt the public. However only a few are aware of it, for the rest it shall cause an uproar making some frantic and some in awe. Soon the drug is seen all around the city and it seems that getting one’s hands on it has become a problem so much so that it causes an all out epidemic. One that no one will see coming or seemingly be able to stop..

One of the few people aware of all this is Ryu Tsang, a local dock worker who grew up admiring the city for all it’s glamour. When strange things start happening Ryu takes notice. While at first he brushes off the first few encounters he can’t help but shake the fact that something bigger is unfolding. Shin Shaojin believes the city will be better off embracing such change. He has a vision of Shanghai’s future. One that involves his business to bloom and offer endless possibilities to all that are accepting. Will the city overcome the dark cloud that is the drug trade or will it be taken in and become the change that Shin Shaojin believes it can be?

It's not currently published but will be within a month or so. People can check out more on the book at my website: http://jbienvenue.webs.com/ where there is a summary and intro to the book as well as a character quiz, Pinterest Board, Chapter 1 for free and link to the Book group on Facebook.

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?

I get my ideas in many different ways. I take in all I see around me. Whether I'm out and about places or watching tv I take what I hear and see around me and sometimes an idea will strike. To me everything is a possibility for an idea if I can expand off it and make it into something interesting. Sometimes my dreams also give me some really intriguing ideas. So I would say I treat everything as a possibility as ideas given that they are within reason and can make a very good story of course.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?

Despite being an author I don't read half as much as I should. I know, bad habit. I've definitely started reading more since becoming an author but have sort of drifted back into the whole I'll get to that book eventually. For the most part I enjoy reading Elmore Leonard, he's one of my favorite authors. Edgar Allan Poe is not only a favorite but an inspiration due to his creepy Macabre like ways. I enjoy reading Horror, Crime, and Western novels and of course poetry.

5) What's your next writing project?

Right now I'm pretty focused on getting Opium Warfare completed and published so I like to consider this to be my next project. I do have an idea for something else in the works after this but I don't entirely have it all pieced together though I will say it's going to be in the Poetry genre.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?

Where We Go When All We Were Is Gone: “You should be here; he’s simply magnificent.” These are the last words a biologist hears as his Margaret Mead-like wife dies at the hands of Godzilla. The words haunt him as he studies Japan’s giant monsters on an island reserve, attempting to understand the beauty his wife saw in these creatures. The Return to Monsterland opens a collection of genre-bending stories inspired by Japanese folklore, history, and pop-culture. Demons with marital problems, orientations for neophyte ghosts, the twilight years of legendary heroes, and a dance party in Post-Apocalyptic Tokyo populate these pages. Every story turns to the fantastic, the mysticism of the past, and the absurdities of the future to illuminate the spaces we occupy.

Available on Amazon and Black Lawrence Press. Soon to be found at other retailers and bookstores upon release.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?
The Rising (Supernaturals book 1) is available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Rising-Superna...
Summary: Ethan is just an ordinary teenage boy—infatuated with sports music and, of course, girls. Or so he thinks. Heading home on a rainy night from an amateur guitar gig, he finds his life turned completely upside down—literally. His car spins and flips out of control after what he believes to be a small animal jumps out in front of him. The horrific accident is only the beginning of a series of mysterious and seemingly unrelated events that will change his life forever.

After awaking in the hospital, and following an encounter with an enigmatic doctor, Ethan discovers that something that occurred during the wreck allows him to hear others' thoughts, and even more perplexing, move objects with his mind. While trying to wrap his head around this mystery, he realizes he’s not alone. There are others out there with special powers. Not long after learning of this new world, Ethan’s ever increasing lack of control places those around him at serious risk. In order to protect those he loves, he makes the difficult decision to leave and accepts an offer to attend specialized training along with other so called Supernaturals to gain command over his newfound gifts. Shortly after beginning his schooling, Ethan is sent on a mission to kidnap who he believes to be the enemy leader in a well concealed Supernaturals war. But the further he becomes embedded in this new world, the more he discovers things are not quite what they seem and doesn't know who can be trusted.

In this first installment of the Supernaturals series, Ethan discovers that super powers aren’t always so super, and is faced with difficult decisions that will not only affect his own life, but which may determine the life or death of his newfound companions and mentor.

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?
I have a very active imagination, so random ideas seem to come out of nowhere. Though these ideas stem from what I enjoy reading/watching myself, whether its the epic fantasy series I'm currently working on dealing with super powers; a Tolkien-ish fantasy adventure also in the works; or a dystopian/post-apocalyptic adventure.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?
I touched a little on this above, but I really enjoy fantasy/sci-fi, dystopian/post-apocalyptic, thrillers, crime and legal thrillers, and just good ol' literary fiction.

5) What's your next writing project?
I'm currently working through The Recruit, book 2 of my Supernaturals series, as well as dabbing at the 1st book in my The Telkuhryn Chronicles (The Lost Book of Behlkrumor), as well as the 1st book in my Survival series (The Outbreak).

My novel that is out right now is called Floresha (Metamorphosis #1)

Synopsis: Seventeen year old Ringzette Almer is a Torosapien that lives in a world that is just as gripping as it is beautiful. The world, Floresha, has taken the place of Earth which was destroyed centuries ago by an unknown power. There are four main tribes that live as a part of its inhabitants: The Chayas, the Marconnis, the Wielders and the Juugulars. Ringzette, a Chaya, is plunged deeper into her world when she comes across a mysterious man who implants a gem on her stomach. As if things couldn’t get any stranger, she is told that her claimed to be dead brother may not be dead after all and a father she never knew has left her with an unfeasible mission that he himself was unable to complete. Now with her whole world on her shoulders, Ringzette must break the forbidden rule of travelling to the other tribes and find the six guardians that are born to protect this planet. She not only has to race against time, but also the enemies destined to destroy the very same people she must find and protect. To make matters worse, she will have to accomplish all this while managing to survive the treacherous lands of the tribes she's only heard of from her textbooks. As a lazy teenager born from a tribe of peacekeepers, what are her chances of making it through this alive?

The book is available on Amazon!

My novel is Life is But a Dream. It's available on Amazon and kindle. Angela is a narcoleptic. Or at least, that’s what she tells people. The truth is . . . somewhat more complicated. Angela has two lives, existing in parallel universes. When she sleeps in one life, she is awake in her other life. In one reality she is single and successful in New York City. In her other reality, she is a loving wife and mother in suburban Sacramento. But which life is real? And can she be happy in both of them? When, in one of her realities, she meets Tony, a handsome poet, she begins to think that perhaps she can find love and have the family she always dreamed of. But, as things go well in one life, they begin to fall apart in another, and Angela has to navigate complicated questions of family, loyalty, and love.

W.T. Fallon (wtfallon) | 6 comments 1) What is your name and bio?

W. T. Fallon. I like to say if you can't say something nice, say something funny and completely true. I haven't yet found my dream job of getting paid to make sarcastic comments all day, so I write comedy and satire. I've been featured on The Satirist and write regularly for Humor Outcasts. My first book, Fail to the Chief, a comedy in which I imagine the presidential election as a reality show, was released in early October.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?
Here's a synopsis for Fail to the Chief:
After years of emceeing insipid singing competitions, TV personality Bryan Seafoam can't wait to host "American President," the world's first reality show to elect a country's Chief Executive. It's the chance he's waited a lifetime for--an opportunity to be a real journalist, unearthing skeletons and playing hardball with the top ten candidates.

But it doesn't take long for the contestants to start digging up dirt of their own and throwing it back at him--literally, in the case of billionaire candidate Ronald Chump when he's challenged to dig his own moat along the Mexican border. To make matters worse, Bryan's producer pressures him to be nicer to the candidates, and his former crush, now an experienced political correspondent, shows up--and shows him up at every turn.

When a cheating scandal rocks the show, Bryan suspects it's just the tip of a very underhanded iceberg. Will exposing the plot to wreck the most hysterical--er, historic--election of all time cost him everything? Or lead to an even bigger reward he never anticipated.
It can be found here: https://www.amazon.com/Fail-Chief-W-T...

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?
Everywhere. I got the idea for Fail to the Chief when I was running on a treadmill and watching the news. I kept thinking how the election was so much like a reality show anyway, why not just let people vote from their couches and eliminate a candidate every week, instead of having primaries and a long, drawn-out campaign process?

4) What books/authors do you like to read?
I read a variety of things. I like Stephen King, John Grisham, Andy Borowitz, Douglas Adams. I like a well-written story, humor, and interesting characters.

5) What's your next writing project?
I'm working on a satire about the pharmaceutical industry. If you've ever laughed at one of those drug ads on TV, with the mile-long list of side effects that sound worse than whatever it's supposed to treat, you know that's an interesting setting for a book.

I'm Jim Vuksic. I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but left home in 1961 to attend St. Mark Seminary in Erie, Pennsylvania from which I graduated in 1965. I then enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and am a Vietnam veteran. I was hired by the H.J. Heinz Company in 1968 from which I retired in 2001 as the manager of the company's Pittsburgh facility. My late wife Elaine and I were married in 1970. We had 5 children and remained together for 35 1/2 wonderful years.

Where do you come up with your ideas?
The concept for my one and only novel fermented inside my head for years before I actually began writing the manuscript in 2009. It was released commercially August 9, 2011.

What books/authors do you like?
I enjoy reading fiction and non-fiction and any genre except two; I do not read romance or erotica. My favorite authors are Jean M. Auel, Dan Brown, W. Michael Gear, Kazuo Ishiguro, Stephen King, J.K. Rowling and J.R.R. Tolkien. (Listed in alphabetical order, not by preference.)

What is your next writing project?
Writing a novel was just one of four items included in a bucket list that my late wife insisted that I create upon retiring in 2001. Therefore, my first novel will also probably be the last.

Hi Vincent, here are my answers! Thanks for doing this :)

1) What is your name and bio?
My name is A. (Anna) A. Franscati and I am based out of supernatural British Columbia, Canada. I have been writing since I was very young, and I have always gained recognition for short works of fiction, and poetry (one of my poems won me an electric guitar shaped like a daisy, despite that my musical career never took off). But my life took me on a winding path of education and led to the chemistry lab, where I have worked all my adult life. The real turning point in my writing came about six years ago when I completed my first novel as a gift for a good friend. Holding the finished product in my hands and realizing that I had created the story and characters within was an amazing feeling, and I have been pursuing publication ever since. On December 19, 2016 I will publish the first novel in a trilogy, and I couldn’t be more excited.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?
Fay Storms is the first book in the Storms Trilogy. It will be released on Amazon on December 19, 2016 (interested readers can contact me via my website aafrascati.wordpress.com for an advance copy, all I ask in return is a review!)
Synopsis (without giving too much away): Fifer is a thief by trade and a half-breed by blood—part giftless and part Fay, the legendary and mysterious creatures as old as the desert. She is stubborn and quick-witted, but when her partner goes missing and she is abducted by demanding clients, Fifer finds herself trapped in a deal she should have walked away from. Little does she know that in fulfilling her contract with the Aestus, the brotherhood of power-gifted and secretive warriors, she would discover that she is not what she had thought.

Arkadius is the Aestus Master in training, and he can feel in his gut that his time is drawing near. But the Aestus are not united, power struggles are beginning to come to light, and Arkadius knows that he will need to assert his power to keep the clans from warring. If he can’t quell the rebellion by force, he must obtain a powerful magical artifact that every race in the desert covets. He is willing to risk everything, including his life to preserve the Aestus, but he never thought he would need to rely on a half-breed thief. How could a woman save the mighty Aestus? When he discovers the answer, the fate of the world as he knows it will be at stake.

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?
Ideas come to me out of the blue: I could be washing dishes, or listening to the radio and an idea might come up. The real flesh of the story on the other hand comes to me as I begin to write out the idea, or on long walks while I listen to a playlist that fits the mood for my idea. I often also have brain storming session with friends where I start talking about something that inspired me, and before I know it, as they ask questions or make comments, I begin to envision a new story.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?
I read a very wide range of books and authors. From the classics I love the adventure in Alexandre Dumas’s books, the civility and intrigue of Jane Austen. I really enjoy fantasy and YA books, because they offer a great escape from the world. In this genre, I love Pierce Brown’s Red Rising trilogy, the Hunger Games, Harry Potter, and many more. I read nonfiction works, especially if they centre around food and cooking, such as works by Julie Powell (of Julie and Julia) and Call of the Farm; travel books are also high on my list of favorites, including anything by Will Ferguson and It’s Only the Himalayas.

5) What's your next writing project?
I am working on the third and last book of the Storms Trilogy, which I hope to complete by the end of 2016, and then I have a two YA fantasy/urban fiction and dystopian books that I would like to explore. I am also working on a Sci-Fi serial that I publish on my blog weekly (see https://wordpress.com/post/aafrascati...)

L.J. Kane (l_j_kane_author) | 96 comments 1) What is your name and bio?

I’m L.J. Kane, the English author of Snatch Girl, the shocking, fast-paced, suspense thriller novel released on 21st April 2017. I’m told it’s not for the faint hearted!

I live in the UK with my husband who’s a great soundboard, full of encouragement, and great ideas. Between us, we have met many unusual characters over the years, people with extraordinary lives from whom I can derive lots of inspiration.

I love people-watching, overhearing conversations on the bus, dreaming up exciting plots while waiting in traffic, and while walking the dogs. I am having so much fun with my novels, and it's because I’ve always believed in myself, that I have finally become an author, after 20 years procrastinating!

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?

My book title is SNATCH GIRL.

Snatch Girl by L.J. Kane

The Snatch Girl synopsis is just below:

Girl Missing: What if you’re with her all the way through to the end? If it ends…? Will Ellie survive? Would you?

The shocking, fast-paced, suspense kidnap thriller that will hook you from the very first line.

Snatched from her sadistic captor's lair by his own getaway driver, eighteen-year-old student Ellie realises that she's still kidnapped. As the enigmatic Darren Broderick drives off into the night with the terrified girl beside him, the sadistic Jon Braddon is not far behind.

Thrown together, on opposing sides, Darren and Ellie must stay one-step ahead of Braddon's twisted mind, and Ellie must resist Darren's Aussie charms to the end. Darren Broderick needs the ransom. Braddon needs a victim. And he will fight to the death to get her back.

Readers can find Snatch Girl on Amazon, in both paperback and an ebook for Kindle. Snatch Girl is currently enrolled in Kindle Unlimited.

Amazon.com: http://amzn.com/0995627312
Amazon.co.uk: http://amzn.eu/dgFHWbG

Also available on readers’ local Amazon stores!

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?

I get my ideas from a mixture of experiences, news, books, and films. Observing people is one of my favourite pastimes, and my best friend is just the same. We often meet up in a coffee shop (we can sit chatting for hours) and then fall silent, listening to an interesting conversation going on at the next table. There are some amazing people, with amazing stories to tell, even if they don’t realise it.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?

I love to read Stephen King and Paula Hawkins. Their books just hook me in, even if I don’t feel like reading. I also read Stephen King’s book ‘On Writing’ and it really helped me focus on my own writing project, but I still can’t bring myself to read the axe scene in ‘Misery’.

5) What's your next writing project?

I’m currently working on my next suspense thriller novel. Like Snatch Girl, it’s set in the UK, and the main plot is already outlined, along with the first few chapters. I love the planning stage, especially when ideas come thick and fast!

All the best, thanks Vincent!

Phillip Vega

1) What is your name and bio?

My name is Phillip Vega. I’ve always been a storyteller, but never put pen to paper until August 2015. Suddenly, I had a publishing contract, and in the midst of the vortex of marketing, analytics, refining, and continuing to write, I’ve discovered my true calling and passion.

I’m now fully and happily immersed in the whirlwind that is the publishing industry, even as I diligently continue my work in software sales.

Phillip is a former-Long Islander with Hispanic roots, now living Florida, and it is from those memories of summers on Long Island that I crafted my debut novel, Last Exit to Montauk.

Now I can’t stop my brain from working through new ideas for future stories, which is why I currently have sixteen other stories in various stages.

My hobbies, aside from enjoying my ongoing work as a published author, include many of the other art forms: singing, performing, and reading. The beach is always home to me. . . and laughter, whether my own or someone else’s, is an unsurpassed joy that I embrace whenever possible.

I live in the Tampa Bay area with my wife, four sons and “two and a half dogs,” which are actually four dogs, but three are Chihuahuas while the fourth is a shepherd, who thinks she’s a Chihuahua, so I call it “two and a half.”

Lastly, I’m comfortable in a room full of people or one on one, and welcome opportunities for guest appearances, interviews, and book signings.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?
Title: Last Exit to Montauk (see above)
Synopsis:
When he approaches her at the market, he has no idea the next three weeks of his life would change him forever.

It’s the late 1980s, summertime, on the North Shore of Long Island. The air stirs with possibilities as it often does during this time of year. And so begins the romance between one Hispanic seventeen-year-old male, on the verge of manhood and ready to conquer the world, and one beautiful and intelligent young woman named B.

It is much more than romance, though. B will forever become a part of this young man’s soul. He will never forget her.

This is a coming-of-age story, a love story, replete with milestones, tangled emotions, and adventures that are the embodiments of first love. Not just for the young, but for the young at heart.

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?

They just come to me, whether I'm watching TV, doing yard work, or driving to an appointment. They play in my mind's eye, like a video or movie, including dialogue and soundtrack.

Last Exit to Montauk, started because there wasn’t anything good to watch on TV, one rainy Saturday afternoon in August 2015. My wife and I returned from grocery shopping, and after putting away the groceries, she and the dogs turn if for a nap.

After surfing and finding nothing of interest on the tv listings, I opened my iPad, clicked on Pages, and just started typing. Before I knew it, I had three chapters completed. It was like a dam burst open in my mind.

Six weeks and close to 800 pages later, the raw manuscript of Last Exit to Montauk was complete. A few weeks later, an author friend of a friend, Russ Elliott, put me in touch with my editor, and now publisher, who wasn’t accepting new clients, but chose to read my manuscript as a favor to Russ, Janet Fix, thewordverve.

After many edits and “fat trimming”, fast forward to May 2, 2017, and my debut novel, Last Exit to Montauk, now 388 pages, became available online and in some brick and mortar bookstores.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?

I love Jack Reacher novels. I also enjoy Jack Ryan novels as well. Other authors/books I enjoy include, Joseph F. Girzone’s Joshua series, Harry Potter series, Hunger Games, Howard Stern, Stieg Larsson, Lawrence Kelter, Cheryl Bradshaw, Stephen King, Neil Gaiman and others.

5) What's your next writing project?

I have sixteen other stories in various stages. I promised my publisher, Janet Fix, that I’d have a manuscript in her hands by the end of the summer, which excited her. I’m a list person. If I put something on a list, I like to complete it as soon as possible. So, this time next year, my next novel may be available.

Had someone told me that at the age of 49, I’d complete my first novel, publish it at 51 and have sixteen others in process, I’d have laughed and thought that person was nuts…N-V-T-S, as Mel Brooks said.

Thanks for this opportunity to introduce myself, and my debut novel, Last Exit to Montauk. I look forward to engaging with other’s on this page

Where do you come up with your ideas?
I get inspiration from many things including other books, music and movies. My first novel was inspired by a song while the second was inspired by film Noir. It’s great because you never know what sort of idea can come into your head when listening to a good song or watching a great movie.

I mostly enjoy reading historical fiction or fantasy and some of my favorite authors include Lisa See, Betty Smith who wrote my favorite book A tree Grows in Brooklyn and Jonathan Hull.

Aspasía Bissas (aspasiasbissas) Hi, Everyone,

1) What is your name and bio?
Aspasía S. Bissas: I live and work in Toronto, Canada, where I share my life with a variety of humans, pets, wildlife, plants, and personal demons.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?
Love Lies Bleeding by Aspasía S. Bissas
Love Lies Bleeding can be found at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and elsewhere. If your local store or library doesn't have it yet, please ask them to stock it.

Synopsis: What happens when a predator loves its prey? Centuries-old Mara is dying a slow death when she meets Lee, a young man whose life has never belonged to him. Thrown together, they're forced to fight those who would destroy them and survive a slew of enemies they never expected, even as Mara falls into a downward spiral of delusion and obsession. Will she make a devil's deal to save both their souls? With pasts like theirs, can they ever have a future?

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?
My ideas usually come to me when I'm in the middle of gardening or crafting--anything where my hands are occupied but my thoughts can wander. I also find inspiration thinking about the kinds of books I'd like to read.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?
I read just about everything, but am currently enjoying re-reading the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series and a bio of Nabokov. Next on the list are books by Christopher Farnsworth and Ilona Andrews, two authors I really enjoy.

5) What's your next writing project?
I'm working on a sequel to Love Lies Bleeding. While Love Lies Bleeding is a self-contained title, the sequel will add depth and dimension (and some new characters), as well as being an entertaining read in its own right.

Rita Chapman | 566 comments G'day! I'm Rita Lee Chapman from Australia. I didn't write my first book until I retired and now I have four published.

Missing in Egypt is Book 1 in the Anna Davies Mystery Series. Missing at Sea is Book 2l They are both romantic travel mysteries.

In between I wrote Dangerous Associations, a crime mystery and Winston - A Horse's Tale for horse lovers from teenagers upwards.

Here is the synopsis for Missing at Sea:
Three years on from Egypt, Anna Davies embarks on her first cruise with best friend Sandra. A few days into the holiday they are woken by three blasts from the ship’s foghorn, indicating that someone has fallen overboard. A woman is lost at sea; the ship turns around to search for her, but she has disappeared into the night.

Was it suicide? Did she lose her balance and fall - or was there foul play involved? Did her husband push her? Would anyone be able to prove whether this was murder or an unfortunate accident?

What a perfect place to stage a murder!

Large Print: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1544735111/
Smashwords: https://www.smashwords.com/books/view...

I have a website at www.ritaleechapman.com where you an read about my books and where I host a guest author each week. If you are interested in a spot you can contact me through the website.

Where do I come up with my ideas? Winston - A Horse's Tale just kind of wrote itself. Missing in Egypt was inspired by a holiday in Egypt and the other two probably from reading too many crime mysteries or watching too many detective shows on TV.

I enjoy crime, mystery, suspense, autobiographies and anything to do with horses.

I am currently working on the next book in the Anna Davies Mystery Series.

Thessa Lim | 13 comments Hi, Everyone!

1) What is your name and bio?
I'm Thessa Lim. I'm a Filipina living in Australia. I thought that writing would just be a hobby, but it has become this all-consuming thing that I can't shake off. Lol.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?
My first novel is Of Heads and Hearts in the Metro. It can be found on Amazon and my website www.thessalim.com.
Of Heads and Hearts in the Metro by Thessa Lim
The friendship of four ladies is tested when Jazmine Abaya, a foundation worker in Manila struggling to make ends meet, grapples with the consequences of an unplanned pregnancy and contends with the father, who refuses to take responsibility. When rich girl Anne Tioleco, a sales executive at a multinational firm, announces to her friends that she is eloping, tensions mount; and social classes, jealousies, and regrets threaten to tear the four ladies apart.

Of Heads and Hearts in the Metro is a new adult fiction for women that reveals the life-saving element of friendship and the intricate dynamics within it.

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?
I usually come up with great ideas when I've just woken up in the morning. It's when my mind is fresh and most creative, I suppose. I also get great ideas when I'm people-watching at cafes.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?
I love chick lit, new adult, women's fiction. I also read popular YA and mystery occasionally. My go-to authors are Meg Cabot, Lisa Lutz, Sophie Kinsella, and Cecelia Ahern.

5) What's your next writing project?
I'm about to release my second book which is a prequel to my first. After that, I'll be researching for my third book. I wish I could do them all together at the same time, but... yeah, not physically possible. If I could not sleep, I wouldn't already. Lol.

Christopher Lee (christopherleeauthor) | 14 comments 1) What is your name and bio?
My name is Christopher Lee and I was born in Phoenix, Arizona. I currently live in Denver, Colorado with my wife and two cats. I run a blog (www.christopherleeauthor.com/) that just started to help indie authors promote their work. Cross promo is everything!

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?

My book title is Nemeton: The Trial of Calas, Book One of the Hallowed Veil

Here is the synopsis on the back cover:
For millennia the Nemeta have kept the fragile truce in the antediluvian world. A peace built on an ancestral curse upon mankind's primal link to magic. After six thousand years, Man has tired of enduring subjugation. Kings and peasants clamor. Thrones tremble at whispers of war between the primeval foes of Man and the Fae.

Amidst her studies of mythical artifacts, a young Seræphym uncovers designs to reverse the hex. A scheme that implicates her own people as heretics. Faced with the apocalyptic consequences of magical war, Samsara must choose between her freedom or that of her people.

Even if it means eternal service to the order that threatens to exterminate her kind.

Readers can find it on Amazon @ http://amzn.to/2Bj6VeN

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?
This idea came to me as a response to a question that has irked me my entire life. As an avid lover of history and mythology, I wanted to answer or solve the disparity between our mythic past and our modern present. Specifically, where did the world of myth go? What did we do to so separate ourselves from it? The Hallowed Veil Series is an attempt to do so.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?
Frank Herbert, Kevin J. Anderson, Neil Gaiman are some of my favorites. I read an unhealthy amount of non-fiction, particularly the occult and mythology. Recently I have broken into the Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley and Fireblood by Jeff Wheeler.

5) What's your next writing project?
I'm currently working on promoting Nemeton: The Trial of Calas. I plan to dive into the Untitled Sequel in January.

Tony Page (tonypage) | 8 comments Hello and thanks everyone for this opportunity

1) What is your name and bio?
I grew up in Kent, moved away to university in Nottingham where I met my wife Helen. We brought our children up in South West London and since they’ve grown up we’ve travelled widely for work and pleasure. Last year we spent time volunteering in Myanmar and Nepal for VSO.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?
“Secret Box: Searching for Dad in a Century of Self”, is the true story of a psychologist who takes off his professional hat and returns to his ‘60s childhood. This is a quest to solve the mystery of what happened to a father and a family.

It was inspired by the wish to break a deafening silence and the question of what happens during a childhood to drive someone to become a psychologist.

I’m told this is a rich and raw set of stories about a time in the 60s when the known was cast aside for the new and a quiet devastation was inflicted. Ultimately this is about how family members can block or help one another towards freedom and happiness.

Secret Box Searching for Dad in a Century of Self by Tony Page
Secret Box: Searching for Dad in a Century of Self
You can find the ebook on Amazon.co.uk. You'll see there are five reviews so far, all 4* or 5*. During last weekend's Kindle Free Promotion it rose up to #1 Bestseller in all its 3 categories in the UK and to #3 Bestseller in the US. The paperback is coming out on 20th April.

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?
In bed. On waking, I listen for thoughts: sometimes they are clear as a bell. I like to write them down, and I also like to write freely in my journal. It feels therapeutic. It’s surprising what arrives on the page. Like tinkling the piano keys and listening for a tune. To write Secret Box, I delved into my father’s old diaries, letters and photographs; and made visits to collect family recollections. I attended a creative writing workshop at CityLit in London to get over some writing blocks and polish the craft by reading out stories. This gives you all kinds of feedback.

Writing this stretched me to be a detective, a historian, a dramatist as well as a psychologist.

I write what you can call Narrative Non-fiction, that is true stories with a narrative that carries the reader forward. The three previous books related to my work as a coaching psychologist who specialises in organisational development: “Diary of a Change Agent” (1996, Gower), “From Hippos to Gazelles: How Leaders Create Leaders” (2008, Kingsham/British Council) and “Creating Leadership” (2018, BEP).

4) What books/authors do you like to read?
Right now I am sitting amidst piles of books because the overloaded wall-mounted shelves are collapsing onto my desk below! Many of these books are esoteric, on psychology and a “century of self” that began with Sigmund Freud. There’s a pile devoted to the Human Potential Movement of the 1960s in which my father became entangled.

Some of my favourite authors are Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Arundhati Roy, Barbara Kingsolver, William Boyd, Frank McCourt, Franz Kafka and Barack Obama.

5) What's your next writing project?
Right now I’m in the business of marketing the book and I’m looking for reviewers. This is a welcome respite after three years writing and re-writing Secret Box. One thing coming up is I’ve been asked to run a workshop on Writing To Reconnect giving those present a taste of the methods I employed during the writing Secret Box. The challenge will be to put this cogently and practically.

That's all for now. Do let me know if you or someone you know would like to do a review.

Tony

J. Rubino (jrubino) Re-entering mine since a little has changed:
1. What is your name and bio?
Jane Rubino - Live "down the shore" (NJ) with family and a succession of pound hounds.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?

My first books were mysteries set in and around the Atlantic City, NJ area - The titles were: Death of a DJ; Fruitcake; Cheat the Devil; Plot Twist; Cake Job; Raise the Dead. Originally published by a small press with two picked up by larger presses for PB reprints - I was asked to do Cake Job, novella length, for an anthology called Deadly Morsels. The first three are available on Kindle as a 3-in-1. The others you may find second-hand.
After that, a volume of three Sherlockian novellas, Knight Errant, was published by a small Canadian house that only published Sherlockian fiction and nonfiction.
Lady Vernon and Her Daughter, which I wrote with my daughter (an author and literary agent) was published by Crown - it was a novel-length adaptation of Jane Austen's "Lady Susan". A few years later, we were asked to contribute an Austen-centric short story to the anthology "Jane Austen Made Me Do It" - ours was a contemporary story called, "What Would Austen Do?"
In January, I released a novella on Kindle - The Rucastles' Pawn. It is a retelling of the Sherlock Holmes story The Adventure of the Copper Beeches (the one about the red hair and the blue dress).

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?
Ideas are everywhere. I always think of that scene in the film "The Player" where the main character opens a newspaper and turns the headlines into screenplay loglines. Writing isn't about ideas, but how you develop ideas into cohesive plots.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?
Love Jane Austen and Sherlock Holmes. Dickens, Wilkie Collins. I think George Gissing's New Grub Street is a must-read for anyone in publishing. Loved The Orphan Master's Son. In non-fiction, I thought Over The Edge of the World, about Magellan's voyage was a page turner.

5) What's your next writing project?
Currently working on another historical, and was just asked to contribute a Sherlockian short story to an upcoming anthology.

Witchhunter Trilogy:

Witchhunter: The Realm of the Isles: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01L37Q9P8?...

When Fate Steps In: (Standalone)

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BV44N53?...

Amy Williams moved to Tennessee with her longtime boyfriend, Dillon a few months ago. With her old life behind her, she is ready to move on and see what she can make of herself. To Amy, that means writing the next great romance novel and moving across the country for inspiration, something she hasn't had since tragedy stained her life. Reminding herself of the focus she needs to get where she wants, the last thing she is looking for is a distraction.
Sam Teller has lived in the small town of Eastview, Tennessee his whole life. Helping his father run the farm wasn't always his top priority, but after the death of his mother, plans changed and Sam doesn't plan on leaving anytime soon.
A serendipitous encounter in town will change what Sam and Amy want out of life, challenging them to make difficult decisions. As they grow closer, secrets from their past surface and threaten everything they hold dear.

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?
I definitely develop my ideas over time. The Witchhunter Trilogy began with a necklace. After years of thinking and planning and re-planning I developed a whole world from that a story that surrounded that necklace.
For When Fate Steps In, I started with the two characters, Amy and Sam and developed the story around them. Most of my ideas start with one character and the more I think and write, the more the stories as well as other characters from there.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?
I love anything fantasy, romance, YA, mermaids, Nicholas Sparks, J.K. Rowling, Amanda Hocking, Jennifer Donnelly.

5) What's your next writing project?
Now that my latest book is released, I am focusing all of my energy on the Witchhunter Trilogy! I am currently working on the second book, Withchhunter: The River of Mors.

Aneil Komal (aneilkomal) 1) What is your name and bio?

My name is Aneil Komal and I am a first-time author. I currently live in New York, NY. I work as a network engineer but my true passion is to pursue a career in TV/film writing.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?

The title of my book is "The Guardian Angel". You can get your copy of "The Guardian Angel" from the link (https://www.amazon.com/Guardian-Angel...)

Sixteen-year-old Aries has always dreamed of being someone extraordinary, following in the footsteps of his hero wrestler, "The Masked Angel" Angel Guerrero. But as a timid, hesitant boy with, well… an underwhelming physique, he's never thought he could chase after his dreams. That is, until he finds himself in an alternate universe where fire-breathing dragons soar in the skies, petrifying creatures rise from the ground, and the use of magic is normal. The biggest surprise for Aries, however, comes when he learns he was once a mystical hero known as the Guardian Angel. His mission has always been to protect this magical world and the spirits who inhabit it, but now it is being threatened by a vile, cold-blooded, sadistic demon who seeks to dominate the universe. Now it is on Aries to rediscover his past and regain his powers, but first he'll have to overcome his crippling doubts. Can he learn to believe in himself, his friends, and the magic that surrounds him—in time to save the realm before it is destroyed?

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?

A lot of my ideas came from my dreams, love of spirituality and my own personal issues. The main character, Aries, is essentially myself, and I try to relate the character to myself. Also, growing up I love anime such as Dragonball Z, Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon as well as professional wrestling. All of these helped give me the inspiration for my characters.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?

I will be real honest on this. I am not much of a reader. I love to write but not a big reader. I hope this does not seem weird! The last book I read was My Sister's Keeper, which I do love by the way.

5) What's your next writing project?

I am working on a few other projects. One is another superhero and other is a mystery/action theme. I am also working on a book currently titled "The Cheap Wrestling Show". It is basically my own wrestling show, with my own original gimmicks. I am really excited for what is coming next. Oh, I forget, The Guardian Angel: The Pharaoh's Ritual!

2. Book title, synopsis, and location: My debut novel is called "Prosper", and can be found at: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07...

Description: The year is 1942. War has been raging across Europe for nearly two years now, and the Nazis, hell-bent on expanding their empire and anti-Semitic views, are winning. Only Britain, the United States, and the Soviet Union are left to fight them, now.

For Evelyn McIntyre, the war is just beginning. She's about to be dropped into enemy occupied France with a rough-and-tumble Jewish man by the name of Gene Rosenberg to fight the Nazis. However, they don't fight in long, drawn-out battles in which the enemy they're fighting is clear. They fight a secret war, one that could prove to be just as deadly as the war the rest of the world sees.

Based loosely on true events, this story of love and tragedy is certain to excite and touch readers everywhere.

3. Where do you come up with your ideas?: The writing gods bestow their wisdom upon me... Just kidding. I usually get them from books I'm reading, stuff I see on TV. Sometimes weird dreams that I have.

4. What books/authors do you like to read?: My all-time favorite has to be Brandon Sanderson. I'm also a fan of Brian McClellan, Renee Ahdieh and Elizabeth E. Wein.

5. What's your next writing project?: I have a few in the works. In editing, I have the first book in a steampunk fantasy trilogy, the first book in a 4-book fantasy series, and two steampunk alternate histories. Basically, my writing is all over the place...

Johanna Blomqvist | 5 comments Thanks Vincent for starting this thread. I'd like to answer too. :)

1) What is your name and bio?
I am Johanna Blomqvist, Ph.D., physicist, author, speaker, Reiki master teacher, energy healer and independent researcher

After almost 20 years in the worlds of IT and research, my interest in energy healing led me on an unbelievable journey which is still continuing. I felt there were no reason to omit such method as energy healing, even though it did not fit into the worldview I had been taught.

I am now on a mission to combine science and spirituality, to help everyone to expand their horizons beyond the material world. I want to encourage everyone to challenge their worldview whether it is by energy healing or some other method.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?

"From Quantum Physics to Energy Healing - A Physicist's Journey to Mind and Healing".

***
What is the "energy" transmitted in energy healing?
What can science and research say about energy healing?
Doesn't modern science rule out phenomena like this?
Does energy healing work and, if so, how?

Physicist Johanna Blomqvist's book will give answers to these questions.

Astonishing accounts of healings omitted by mainstream media led her to a journey that is still continuing. In the book, she tells about her path to energy healing and her own extraordinary experiences. The obvious question was how to fit these experiences to the scientific model she had learned.

Energy healing and such topics as subtle energy, the effect of mind on healing and remote healing are usually perplexing to those used to an everyday materialistic worldview. In the book, energy healing is approached from the viewpoint of known modern science. Could quantum physics give answers to energy healing? After all, one could say that according to quantum physics, we are all one and the same vibrating energy at the subatomic level. Besides quantum physics, the book also addresses the questions of mind and consciousness.

The book has been written as an aid to those who wish to broaden their horizons or are already practicing energy healing, yet could use tools for telling others about it. The book is also meant for everyone who may be seeking support from complementary medicine.

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?

I write about the topics of which I would like to read myself. I write non-fiction books, real life is so intriguing.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?

Lately I have read books from Rupert Sheldrake, Dean Radin, Amit Goswami, Lynne McTaggart and currently reading a book by Brenda Dunne.

5) What's your next writing project?

I am writing a book about reality. Like my first book, also this one will combine science and spirituality. Writing a book is like an adventure, you never know where you will end up. :)
