message 402: by Judy (new)

Judy Bloomberg | 10 comments 1) What is your name and bio?
My name is Judy Bloomberg. I am an author, traveler, adventurer, and teacher. I have been an intrepid traveler for 50 years, and have explored about 115 countries on all seven continents. Whenever possible, I immerse myself in the culture and daily life of the places I visit through home stays, volunteer work, and participation in the celebrations and life cycle events of the inhabitants. When not traveling, I live in Massachusetts (US) with my husband, Mark, and plan my next adventure.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it? My book is called ALWAYS A TRAVELER, NEVER A TOURIST: IN SEARCH OF PEOPLE AND PLACES ON THE ROAD LESS TRAVELED. It is available on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Always-Travele... (both paper and e-book versions) and also direct from the author (email me at [email protected] or Facebook messenger)

The book is a collection of nearly 300 of the best (mostly full-page) color photos from those trips, focusing on the most exotic destinations on all seven continents (and the people who inhabit them), along with insights and anecdotes about traveling off the beaten path. From colorful festivals like the Goroka Show in Papua New Guinea and Carnival in Rio to daily life in places like Lake Titicaca and rural Ethiopia, these photographs beautifully capture the amazing diversity of peoples who inhabit our world. A perfect gift for any armchair traveler.

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?
My travels inspire me. I visit places that relatively few people have seen or experienced, and it makes me want to share my stories and my view of the wider world with others.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?
I like to read travel books, of course, but I also enjoy biographies, historical fiction, and non-fiction related to events of the day.

5) What's your next writing project?
In 2002, I went to live in a very small town in France for a year. Although I visited Paris often, I purposely chose to live in a small rural community, where I would not be treated as "just a another tourist". During that year, I truly became part of the community, in a way that I had never imagined that I could. I have long been interested in turning the story of my experiences there into a book, although I have not yet begun writing it.

message 403: by Ch. (new)

Ch. (holykris) | 4 comments 1) What is your name and bio?
I'm Ch. E. Gallardo, graduate in physics and a writer at heart since my imagination was greatly inspired by the stories inside anime/manga and videogames. I couldn't make something like this so my only way to share my fantasy story is with a book.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?
My very first book is Dream of the Guardians I-1: Rising.

"The world is made up of the four elements and only the adepts are able to harness this power, so humans repudiated them. Now the adepts live in their own nations and the Six Lords lead their respective territories.

One day like any other, a young Earth adept arrives in a village to prepare for his long journey to the top of the world. It is said that whoever reaches the summit of King’s Mountain will have conquered any obstacle that may arise in life and, therefore, will have conquered the world.

With no friends or family, Chris only has his goal to give sense to his existence, so the most dangerous path is the only one he can travel, even if it means giving up the only thing he has, his life time."

This is available on Amazon only, as ebook and paperback.

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?
My greatest inspiration is the shonen anime like One Piece and my favorite videogame of all times, Golden Sun.

Of course, just inspiration, since I created my own kind of fantasy universe with three power systems. This was due to always felt limited by western fantasy like Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. They are both legendary sagas, but not my style.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?
As I'm a big fan of anime, I love Eichiro Oda's work. One Piece has a plot very well designed, so much foreshadowing and great characters.

5) What's your next writing project?
I'm currently writing the next book, I-2, the direct sequel of my first book. Before starting to write I already designed the story plot for 3 volumes divided in 2 books each. 6 books at least for the main plot.

Amy Bernstein | 20 comments 1) What is your name and bio?

THE POTRERO COMPLEX
Journalist Rags Goldner is battle-scarred and heartbroken after covering a devastating pandemic that rages in Baltimore for five years. She leaves the city with her partner in search of a simpler life in small-town Maryland—only to discover nothing in Canary is simple. A teenager is missing, and it falls to Rags to fight the forces of apathy, paranoia, and creeping fascism to learn the shocking truth about Effie Rutter’s fate—and the fate of thousands like her.

On Amazon and from Regal House Publishing.

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?

Jennifer Eagen
Daniel Mason
George Saunders
Elena Ferrante

Marie Weiler | 10 comments 1) What is your name and bio?

My name is Marie Weiler, and I am a Canadian, independent fiction author. I have been writing since I was ten years old, but never put in the necessary effort to actually publish anything till about a decade later. I feel God has gifted me with the ability to create stories, and in return for utlising it, I hope my writing will be a gift to others.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?

My debut novel Olivia is about two Irish half-sisters embarking on a cross-country journey to find the younger's biological father. Along the way, they discover that the past doesn't need to determine the future.

You can find it on all the major online retailers and in stores; or you can just check it out here Olivia: A Novel

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?

From anything and everything. A nightmare can be turned into something good by changing it into a scary short story. A piece of scenery can inspire a medieval kingdom. You really just have to be open to see the extra goodies within the ordinary, because just like with people, there's more than meets the eye.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?

I really enjoy the classics: anything by Dickens, Austen, C. S. Lewis, or J. R. R. Tolkien, etc. But I do still read some contemporary Christian fiction by authors like Chuck Black, Wayne Thomas Batson, and Andrew Klavan.

5) What's your next writing project?

I have many projects on the go, but the one I am currently working on is a psychological thriller screenplay. I am about halfway done, and I look forward to bringing it to the big screen within the next year or two.

S.T. Jones | 4 comments 1) What is your name and bio?
S.T. Jones

S.T. Jones has been writing books, poems, music lyrics and short stories since she was 11 years old. She has published her first book, “He Went That Way” in 2018, a book that she had worked on since 2011. She will soon be releasing her second book, “All That Glitters is Gold.”

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?
I have two books.
He Went That Way is my first book I’ve published. I’ve been writing since I was about 11 years old, maybe earlier but this is the first book I published because I felt it was important to put this book out. It’s about a woman name Charlene Charlemagne who tries to piece her life together after a tragedy hits her.

All That Glitters is Gold this is my second book and I just recently released this only a few months ago. I’ve seen a lot about Britney Spears and her conservatorship so while I did have this idea prior to her getting freed, it really inspired a lot of this book as well as the celebrity culture in general. Brooklyn Appleby is the world’s most famous pop star but she gets trapped into a conservatorship she can’t soon get out of. She must deal with the aftermath and repercussions that led her into this life she never wanted.

Readers can find both these works on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/S-T-Jones/e/B0...

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?
From observing really. I don’t write what I know, I write more about what I don’t know. I observe real life situations and then I make things make sense or I think “what if this situation is happening because of this?” Sometimes the ideas really do just randomly come to me though.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?
Jane Austen, Nicholas Sparks
Karen Kingsbury
Melody Carlson
Sarah Dessen
Francine Rivers
Alex Flinn
C.S. Lewis

I mean, how can I choose just one?

5) What's your next writing project?
I’m working on a book about a homeless woman who gets rescued off the streets and what life looks like for her post-homelessness. I’m very excited about this project. I feel like there’s not enough fiction books about homeless people (at least none that I’m aware of) and I really want to show people that homeless people are people too and they don’t always fit into a stereotype.

Hehe. So I may be a rarity, but I generally don't read books. I know, I know, like wtf, but I read science articles. I actually prefer movies.

5) What's your next writing project?
Depends on whether or not I can get a good response from my current title. Hey, do you think people could read and review my book?

J.J. Matthews | 6 comments 1) What is your name and bio?
My pen name is J.J. Matthews. I'm a British author currently residing in the more eastern parts of Europe, rather than my birth home. I've been writing stories and book ideas for years but only within the last three years have I started really taking writing seriously as a possible career.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?
My most recently released book is called Maleos: Rise of the Old Gods. It is a dark/high fantasy book that will hopefully be the start of a long-running series. It follows the newly reborn Warlock, Mortius Maleos, and his friends Saminha and Clive as he learns about who and what he really is and about the return of primordial entities that threaten the end of all things.

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?
They just come to me as I go along. My first book started as a weird dream I had that only lasted around five minutes. Once I started writing, I just kept building more on everything I wrote and eventually created a whole world.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?
I think my love of fantasy stems from the Artemis Fowl books I read as a child as well as the Ian Livingstone and Steve Jackson adventure books (The Warlock of Firetop Mountain, Citadel of Chaos, Caverns of the Snow Witch and many more). Currently I mainly read Stephen King, Kathy Reichs and Stuart MacBride

5) What's your next writing project?
Currently, I am working on the sequel to Rise of the Old Gods, and number two in the series, the name of which will soon be revealed along with it's release date on my TikTok page!

4) What books/authors do you like to read?
I'm not picky when it comes to reading and I don't have favorite authors.

5)What's your next writing project?
I'm currently writing a romantic book of sorts. It's a new thing for me. I hope I don't screw up.

Mark Worden | 3 comments 1) What is your name and bio?

My name is Mark R. Worden, I have to use the "R" in my pen name because there is another Mark Worden who is an author as well. The funny thing is that I learned about him while I was in High School in Roseburg, OR where we each lived back in the 70s. He was getting my packages by mistake. I saw his poetry book at a local bookstore and purchased it, so we met up a few times. Anyway, I have recently published my first book and am learning how to let others know about it. I am finding out that it is one accomplishment to write and publish a book, and another, to actually let others know about it and for someone to choose to read it. I was helped greatly in the writing of my book and hope that it will help others too. I am a former pastor of a local church who still likes to teach the Bible and encourage other to grow in their faith. Life and faith are a journey!

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?

Title: HE IS! Knowing God through Fifty Scriptural Meditations

My first review from Readers' Favorite did very well at giving a synopsis:

Reviewed by Edith Wairimu for Readers’ Favorite

He Is! Knowing God Through Fifty Scriptural Meditations by Mark R Worden is an uplifting and profound devotional that guides readers on how to relate to God and know Him. It is based on Hebrews 11:6, “But without faith, it is impossible to please Him: for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” (NKJV). It begins with an encouraging account of Worden’s faith journey and how it all began. Each meditation included focuses on an attribute of God. In the first meditation, the book explains that knowing God begins by acknowledging His existence. It examines scriptures and explains more about God. Meditations describe Him as forbearing, loving, unchanging, righteous, and more.

I loved the personal anecdotes included which help expand the work and show how knowing God applies in everyday life. The reflection questions included at the end of each meditation allowed me to pause and internalize the messages. I also found the scriptures included for further reading and meditation helpful in learning more about each attribute of God. Ultimately, the work guided me in developing a more intimate relationship with Him and reminded me about who God is. I loved that the work is backed by biblical passages that support its discussions. I also found the work uplifting as it shows God as personal, all-knowing, and merciful. He Is! Knowing God Through Fifty Scriptural Meditations by Mark R Worden is a powerful and hope-filled work that expands on who God is. Recommended to any reader who wants to grow in their knowledge and relationship with God.

Available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and at the publisher:
https://www.westbowpress.com/en/books...

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?

The idea for HE IS! came from the challenging verse of Hebrews 11:6 and then months of Biblical research.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?

Bible
C.S. Lewis
John Piper
Many more . . .

5) What's your next writing project?

I am thinking about a follow up book focusing more on the Christian life experience in Christ. I also have a series of sermons that could be turned into devotionals through a book of the Bible.

message 414: by Brieanna (new)

Brieanna Wilkoff (brieannawilkoff) | 5 comments 1) What is your name and bio?

I am Brieanna Wilkoff (she/her), and I believe wholeheartedly in the power of kindness, the importance of theatre, and the awesomeness of ’80s rock. I married my husband onstage at the oldest surviving theatre in central Ohio, and our first dance was to Bon Jovi’s “Thank You for Loving Me.” My favorite musical is a three-way tie between Les Mis, Wicked, and Hamilton. I live in Westerville, Ohio, with my husband, daughter, and dog.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?

My debut contemporary young adult novel is titled I'll Be There for You:

Rae Ballester loves movie musicals and—thanks to her dad—’80s rock. Since he died a year ago, his favorite music helps keep his memory alive. Struggling to move on, Rae keeps her head down and earbuds in, but shunning the world has cost her even her closest friendships, leaving her the “Owner of a Lonely Heart.”

When Rae meets Mac, a boy with a charming smile who thinks any problem can be solved with a show tune, she cautiously welcomes their easy banter. With his humor, enthusiasm, and well-curated Broadway playlists, Mac slowly edges his way into her heart, but when he proves “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” Rae thinks about withdrawing to the comfort of hair metal and the silver screen.

Should Rae retreat from the world to protect her already broken heart, or will her involvement in the school’s theatre program and the random acts of kindness she and others have started performing give her “Something to Believe In”? I’ll Be There for You delves into the personal journey of healing old wounds, making new friends, and learning how to build a future with pieces of the past and present.

The book can be purchased on Amazon, Barnes and Noble online, and Bookshop.

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?

It depends on the book, but I’ll Be There for You was inspired by my family’s commitment to kindness, including performing 100 kind acts in a single day.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?

I love John Green, as well as Eleanor and Park. Some other favorite YA books include Momentous Events in the Life of a Cactus, The Field Guide to the North American Teenager, What If It's Us, and Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda.

5) What's your next writing project?

My next YA novel is about a high school English class that is reading Romeo and Juliet. They're given an assignment to write a letter to "Juliet" asking for love advice, but instead of being answered by a stranger in Verona, the letters get posted online, leading to frenzied attempts to determine who’s crushing, who’s gay, who’s in love, and who cheated.

message 415: by Lucilla (new)

Lucilla (lucillalin) | 6 comments 1) What is your name and bio?
My pen name is Lucilla Lin and I'm a Finnish speculative author living in UK. I have two young kids so I write mainly during the night! I've published horror, fantasy and science fiction in Finnish for over 1 years but just recently translated my first novel in to English. There's nothing really Finnish about my writing though, I've created my own mythologies and cultures for speculative fiction.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?
My only English novel is called Green World and its on Amazon
https://www.amazon.com/Lucilla-Lin/e/...
I advertise it as a "provocative eco-utopian-dystopian space adventure" It's about violent criminals and terrorists fighting a well-meaning tyranny. Unreliable narrators and a story that can be interpreted in many different ways.

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?
For me characters come first - I plan little biographies for them and then start plotting away. I get ideas from my academic background (arts and history). Almost everything I write in related to a sinister mythology I came up with long ago.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?
First- wave Gothic horror master Charles Maturin, Tolkien and Lovecraft for the myth making. Finnish 19th century author Zachris Topelius. William Gibson.

5) What's your next writing project?
I'm currently editing the second part of my space opera trilogy (all in Finnish) and writing the third part. Star Wars meets Akira meets Lovecraft in a way. As with everything I write there is a lot of interesting characters, violence, gardens and tea drinking.

message 416: by Mark (new)

Mark Latowsky | 2 comments Good Day Vincent,

I am a newbie to Goodreads and so do not yet know common protocol but came across your open author interview post which certainly attracted my attention. If interested you can contact me through email: [email protected] or cell: 416 826 3015

1) What is your name and bio?

My name is Mark Laurence Latowsky. I am a retired medical physician who had practiced Family, Emergency and Addiction Medicine in the Greater Toronto Area for over thirty years. I am married and have four children. Even though I have published past articles more than once in medical journals I consider myself a newbie book author.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?

My book, entitled House of Giral, is a fast paced medical thriller which follows the slow and steady progressive transformation of a kind of girl interrupted, namely Jennifer ‘Jo’ Hart. This necessary journey of self discovery has brought her and a small group of her closest friends though fragments of half forgotten memories and intrusive visions she had first encoded through an unrecognized past life. One of sexual and physical abuse at the hands of her father, the psychopathic family killer from the House of Giral, something she would rather forget but just can’t.

Now a Jungian Psychologist with a huge practice in the south Florida area, synchronicity and cuban cultural heritage bring her and her gang to the point of identity crisis, wholly necessary for purposes of transformative healing, leading her at end towards a justice of recognizance and karmic consilience, still having to amass a boatload of shit along the way.

The book will be published sometime this spring and should be available through I Universe Website as well as online social media platforms like Amazon, Goodreads, Kindle, Facebook etc.

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?

Great question. My ideas come primarily from dream wishes and if you believe it out of karmic past lives. I don't aspire to connect all the dots, only sheer prophetic geniuses can do this, but like everyone else I can (and will) remember. Moreover I have advocates and helpers like Astrology, Tarot, Kabbalah and Molecular Genetics to help guide me along the way. If subconscious dream memory is the genetic expression of eternal spirit, then forgetfulness might be construed as the psychopathology equivalent of conscious everyday life. For a narcissist only sees in the watery abyss his or her own internal reflection. And so the trial for Jennifer Hart is much likened to that of everyone else. To see something more that just ones own Ego staring back. Just what that ‘more’ turns out to be, exactly, maps my internal vision.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?

The most salient and inspirational authors for House of Giral would, off the top of my head and in no particular order be represented by the likes of: CG Jung, Sigmund Freud, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Soren Kierkegaard, Herman Hesse, Franz Kafka and Aldous Huxley. Some key House of Giral resource books: The Alchemist, I Ching, Tao Te Ching, The Book of the Dead, The Psychedelic Experience, Madness and Civilization. Other major influences: lyrical artists, musicians and play writes like Bob Dylan, Sylvia Plath, Beatles, Moody Blues and Santana. Musicals like Hair, Fiddler on the Roof and Rent. Lastly a few scientific-medical-sifi-detective writers, the likes of Oliver Sacks, Richard Feynman and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

5) What's your next writing project?

I am entirely satisfied leaving it with only this one. That being said, sequel visions pour upon my psychedelic dream colored mind . . like draino! Its been a whole lotta work trying to get this vision done but o so much fun!

If interested I’d love to do an interview with you. Cheers for now.

Mark Laurence Latowsky

message 417: by Russel (new)

Russel Fox | 2 comments 1) What is your name and bio?

Hello, my name is Russel Fox, I spent twenty-five years in the car business before God called me to vocational ministry. I completed a double-major undergraduate degree in pastoral ministry and Christian studies before earning an advanced Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry in biblical counseling from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. I co-host a podcast titled "Let's Open the Bible," I occasionally speak at conferences, write, and I pastor a church in the Piedmont Triad area of North Carolina.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?

My book is titled "Walking in the Son: A Devotional Pursuit of Holiness." My thesis is that one of the causes of church pain and the splintering of churches is the neglect of its members pursuing holiness. When a believer focuses on themselves instead of Christ, selfishness is always the product. This book is available in Hardcover, Softcover, and Kindle editions on Westbowpress.com, Amazon.com, and barnesandnoble.com

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?

Scripture primarily. I write from my experiences in school, growing up, and my observations and experiences in the workforce and church.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?

I like to read devotionals, commentaries, and books that prove helpful to me to minister to those who are hurting.

5) What's your next writing project?

I have a follow-up devotional in a very rough draft format that I have put off to focus on a pastoral care book and I have started a book about biblical financial stewardship, which is what I did for my doctoral thesis.

Harlow Dayne | 17 comments 1) What is your name and bio?

My name is Harlow Dayne. For many years I wrote dark fantasy and horror under the pen name Morgan Griffith. My work has appeared in such anthologies as: Frightmare--Women Write Horror, edited by Billie Sue Mosiman; A Mythos Grimmly; The Book of the Dead; Cellar Door; In Creeps the Night; as well as magazines--The Literary Hatchet, Horror Zine Magazine, and Creepy Campfire Quarterly. These and more can be found on my Amazon Morgan Griffith author page.

I'm originally from Southern California, love Halloween and studying the paranormal, and share my life with pet rats.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?

Lessons from a Large White Rat is my first book and was recently published on Amazon. It's a true, paranormal memoir. I grew up among a family of women who believed in most things supernatural and encouraged pursuing this. Because of my experiences I became driven to express my awe and wonder for the magic of the universe--that's when I began writing.

Experiences such as mine may be much more common that we realize. Speaking of them is often chastised or worse. So we hold them close, not giving them the consideration they deserve. What I experienced led me to believe we are much more than our mundane, physical world. Puzzle pieces were brought to my attention that helped me gain clarity. I continued to pursue developing my intuition, building a belief system. I hope sharing these moments is relatable and helpful.

Lessons from a Large White Rat

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?

All of the events detailed in Lessons from a Large White Rat actually happened. As to my horror stories, I'm very visual. Images from first lines generally come to me through detailed sensory passages. In fact, I'm also an artist who works in pen and ink. I've included many of my drawings in my book.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?

I grew up embarking on treasure hunts through used bookstores. Especially so after reading Poe, Ray Bradbury and Tolkien. I discovered Lovecraft, Clark Ashton Smith, William Hope Hodgson and a host of others this way. I love good atmospheric writing that engages the reader. My current favorite author is Dean Koontz, although I also enjoy Nick Cutter. The Deep was amazing.

5) What's your next writing project?

I've just started a paranormal fiction book tentatively titled Whispers Led Me Here. It's about the life of a sensitive/investigator, including her backstory and history honing her intuitive abilities, and everything she encounters along the way, especially at haunted locations. No screaming and running from demons here. Her open-mindedness allows her to consider all possibilities for activity--everything from layers of residual energy to muti-dimensional beings.

Thanks if you took the time to read this. I'd love to hear about other people's paranormal experiences or hear suggestions for reading along these lines.
Best---Harlow

Matthew Hogan | 10 comments 1) What is your name and bio?
I am Matthew Hogan. I'm currently an online Pastoral Counselor, based in Kingman, AZ. I live with my wife and our 4 cats. Our passion is ministry.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?
"How to be a Christian in Today's World: Shame or Fear of Failure vs. Living Confidently in God's Love" is intended to help Christians or fringe Christians that for whatever reason struggle to believe that God wants them or will use them; Christians who have gotten the message that they have to be good enough on their own; or Christians that have just forgotten the excitement and passion of the loving creator of everything.
It's on Amazon https://a.co/d/e6lfFld
and Barnes and Noble https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/how-...

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?
With 30+ years in ministry, most of my ideas are messages that have percolated in my heart and my wife's heart until we are compelled to get them out. This book and my next both come from years of seeing the same things over and over again and knowing many people need to hear the same message.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?
I have always been a big fan of C.S. Lewis. I have loved both his fiction and Non-Fiction. I think my favorite of his fiction would be "Perelandra" and "Out of the Silent Planet."
Recently, I've become a fan of Brennan Manning.

5) What's your next writing project?
I'm wrapping up a book that is mostly memoir styled, but intended to be inspirational for those that are hurting. My current proposed title is "Being Job: How I Found God's Glory in the Ashes of my Life.

Gary Simonds | 5 comments 1) What is your name and bio?
Hi. I'm Gary Simonds. I am a neurosurgeon, a college and medical school professor, and a frustrated soccer and rock star. I have cared for tens of thousands of very ill and injured patients through the years. I have previously written three non-fiction books on healthcare worker burnout and psychological strain. I am very interested in, and would be delighted to discuss with any reader, reading group, class, or book club, modern healthcare, neurosurgery, neuroscience, medical ethics, burnout, wellness, humanism, spirituality, the interface of science and religion, the paranormal, death, dying, vicarious trauma, and more.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?
My new novel, to be released May 2023, is entitled Death's Pale Flag. It is about an over-committed brain surgeon who unravels when he starts to encounter a slate of ghosts. The reader is called upon to decide whether these encounters are real or he is going insane (or both). The reader is also challenged to consider which provides the greatest terrors, the supernatural world, or the "natural" world of a modern American medical/trauma center.
The book will be available in all formats through most major providers.

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?
I am very interested in the psychological effects of constant exposure to death, dying, and human suffering. I've seen a lot of it. I also love ghost stories. Somehow, the two collided in my brain one night and I started writing.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?
Shakespeare above all else - the title of my novel is from Romeo and Juliet. I read a lot of non-fiction. History. WWII, Civil War. English History. Archeology/anthropology. Science. Historical fiction. Guitar and Banjo instruction (I am passable but not good at either). Wouk (the Caine Mutiny is my favorite ever - read it over and over again). The Last Convertible (so beautiful it is almost poetry - also read over and over again). Lovejoy Mysteries. Morse Mysteries. Various other British Mysteries. Ghost stories of any kind. Stephen King. And anything my wife passes on to me (she reads at five times my speed) as worth reading.

5) What's your next writing project?
I have a YA soccer story finished and on its fifth rewrite - so that is probably next; a non-fiction expose of the twisted and dysfunctional medical training process in my head, and now I have a dystopian post-apocalyptic type novel rambling around my noggin in the middle of the night that I fear I will have to get down on the computer.

Thank you for allowing me to answer these questions!
Best of health and happy days to all who read it.
Please contact me if you wish to discuss!

I'm K.K. Edwards, writer and former factory rat, graphic artist and kindergarten teacher.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?
My novella Somebody Knows Something was published last year by Indie Novella and is available for purchase on their website. SOMEBODY follows two strangers drawn to the tragic story of a little girl who'd disappeared 20 years before: Ginger, who is determined to uncover the truth and Daniel, who is desperate to keep it buried.

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?
It's the cosmos. Gotta be. I dreamed one novel, start to finish. Thought of another whilst driving past a street sign. Sometimes a character will appear in my head with a story to tell--I just have to find it. All of my novels are stand-alones, each is different, all are suspense/thrillers, a couple are what you might call 'literary." With my novels, voice is paramount--if I can nail that down, I feel like I'm on my way.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?
I am loving Shannon Morgan, whose novel Her Little Flowers comes out in a couple of months. Love anything by Anne Perez from NYC (she's a writer, also working it.) Love a good thriller/suspense novel, esp. if written by King, Palaniuk, Lee Child (some), Steve Hamilton, Kellerman, Koontz. . .and of course, I love reading novels by K.K. Edwards--my own stuff is pretty good. :)

5) What's your next writing project?
My latest novel is SOULLESS, a thriller about two boys--a bully and his victim--who join forces when they stumble upon a murderer's killing field. I am querying that novel when I can, along with three others, ready to go: CHERRY, EFFIN' ALBERT, and TWINK.

I have published several poems and photos in various books. I graduated from North Greenville University with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice & Legal Studies on May 5, 2023. I live in South Carolina.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?
I have 2 books so far. The first is called Tangled Suspects. Here is the synopsis: Martin Trescott was brutally murdered. With an endless supply of money and dark and cold secrets, the list of suspects is unlimited.
Brandon Caldwell teams up with Kennedy Biscoe to untangle the chaos. But unraveling the mystery proves to be even more complicated than first expected. Martin's enemies will do anything to keep their corruption buried and are preparing for drastic events that just might change the world forever.
Then, it seems like someone is targeting Brandon and Kennedy. With life on the line, can they discover how Martin links into all of this before time runs out? Or will they be silenced first?

The 2nd one is called Aftermath of an Autopsy. It is part of a 26-book thriller series. I'm co-writing it with my sister. Here is the synopsis: When a body is found, FBI agent Mike Atkins teams up with his new partner Chelsea Turner to unravel the clues. Confusion mounts when it seems the victim was murdered by two different methods. Was there one killer or two? Mike and Chelsea are no closer to solving the murder when the killer or killers strike again. Will they figure it out before more people die or will they too become victims?

Both can be found at https://www.barnesandnoble.com/s/%22T...

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?
Everywhere. While reading, writing, and going about my everyday life.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?
Colleen Coble, Lynette Eason, Kiera Cass

5) What's your next writing project?
Next, I'm writing a book called Assassin. It is based off of a game we played in the Criminal Justice department. Once I finish that, I'm beginning a series of fairytale retellings.

Maria's love for travel and diverse cultures is reflected in her writing, making her work filled with both vivid imagery and compelling characters. With an A.S. in Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University, Maria brings a unique perspective to the literary world. Maria's unique experiences have greatly influenced her writing, making her work a must-read for anyone looking for an exciting new voice in literature.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it? The Islands of Rune is a romantic fantasy following Josie and her new friends as they sail throughout the magical islands searching for a way to restore balance and correct the injustices plaguing their respective kingdoms. Although they find much on this journey, including love, true freedom, and unbreakable bonds; they're soon faced with the immense cost of achieving the greater good that they seek. In this story of magic, conflict, adventure, and unparalleled passion, will these young friends choose what's right for their kingdoms or for themselves?

It's available in both print and ebook formats through most major retailers. If you visit the website www.theislandsofrune.com , there's several links posted and you can choose the one most convienent for you.

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?
Much of my inspiration comes from simply living my life. Whether I'm reading something exciting, binging an anime, traveling somewhere new, or poking around an art museum, I always find that there's inspiration to be found in the experience. I try to remember every thought and emotion in the most detailed way possible, then portray the beauty of it in my writing.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?
It may sound odd being as though I write romantic fantasy, but I read a lot of books on philosphy and history. Right now, I'm wrapping up The Art of the Samurai, a translation of Yamamoto Tsunetomo's Hagakure by Barry D. Steben.

5) What's your next writing project?
A sequel, of course! Unfortunately, the details of it are still under wraps. In due time though, I will begin to release more information on the website and social media pages, easily accessed using the link provided.

Jon Sparks 1) What is your name and bio?
Jon Sparks.
I've been writing fiction as long as I can remember, but for many years I made my living as an outdoor writer and photographer specialising in landscape, travel, and outdoor pursuits, particularly walking, climbing, and cycling. I've won a few awards for writing and my photography.
After a few health issues (now mostly resolved), I've been giving much more of my time to fiction. In fact the genesis of Three Kinds of North, and the whole Shattered Moon series, lies at least twenty years back, but it's taken a concerted effort to bring it to fruition.
I live in Garstang, Lancashire, UK, with my partner Bernie and several bikes.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?
'Three Kinds of North' and 'The Sundering Wall' are the first two books of the Shattered Moon series. There are definitely two further novels to come, probably more, plus a collection of short stories and novellas.
Here's the blurb for 'Three Kinds of North':
A distant future. A world transformed.
Remnants of a shattered moon traverse the skies, memorials to an ancient and nearly-forgotten conflict. In an isolated northern land, society is overseen by the reclusive, all-female, Guild of Dawnsingers, which holds a monopoly on advanced learning. Life seems peaceful and well-ordered; but are the Dawnsingers as benevolent as they seem? What secrets are they hiding?
And what really lies beyond the mountains in the East?
Orphan Jerya unexpectedly finds a home in the Dawnsingers' Guild, but her new life turns sour. Soon she finds herself struggling to reconcile the exhilaration of learning with her growing doubts about the very basis of the Guild's rule. Ultimately she faces an agonising choice which could utterly change her life, and the lives of her two most trusted friends.
For details of where to find the books, go to https://www.jonsparksauthor.com/where....

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?
I think this is a question many authors dread, probably because, like me, they don't really know the answer. However, I don't think ideas are the hard part. Most people probably have ideas that could make a story. What's much harder is translating an idea into a book.
When I began Three Kinds of North, though it wasn't called that then, I had a few elements; a sense of the setting, the remnants of the shattered moon in the sky, and the idea of Dawnsong. So who were the Dawnsingers, how did the moon get broken, and what was the real meaning of Dawnsong? I couldn't, then, have given a clear answer to any of those questions. I wasn't even sure whether I was writing SF or fantasy or some hybrid form. (Perhaps I'm still havering about that!)
I did, however, have a reasonably clear sense of my protagonist, Jerya: her enquiring mind and her frustrations with hearing, far too often, 'it's the way things are'. It didn't take me long to realise she'd be drawn in to the mysterious world of the Dawnsingers, but would bring her own sceptical gaze to bear on it. This gave me the idea that she was going to be significantly older than the usual new recruits to the Guild.
Beyond that… well, in essence, I wrote the book to find out. Many authors, some much more successful than me, have said similar things. It may be a more uncertain way to work than meticulously outlining everything. But… been there, done that (in non-fiction). Being a pantser may be more scary, but it's also more fun, at least for me.
So, when someone asks me 'where do you get your ideas from?', I can only say, 'out of my head'. Where else?

4) What books/authors do you like to read?
All sorts. I'm an eclectic reader, and I think it's beneficial to an author to be that way rather than staying within the confines of one genre. Still, we all have our favourites, and my all-time no. 1 author is Ursula K Le Guin. I love pretty much all her work, but I count 'The Left Hand of Darkness' as the book that's had the greatest influence on me since I first encountered it more than forty years ago.
Another, very different author who I also first met at an opportune moment, even further back in time, is Arthur Ransome, starting with 'Swallows and Amazons'.
I'd like to think observant readers might trace the influence of both in my work, and there's definitely a big 'Easter Egg' for Ransome devotees in Book Three of the series, which is due next February.
A few other favourite authors, in no particular order: Terry Pratchett, Iain M Banks, Jane Austen, Dorothy L Sayers, Kate Atkinson and Becky Chambers.

5) What's your next writing project?
I'm currently dividing my time between final editing on Book Three (provisional title 'Vows and Watersheds') and a maybe-final draft of Book Four. With excursions into cover design and side-trips into short stories and novellas. It's not a focused way of working but I tell myself it keeps me fresh.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?

Clifford's War: The Bluegrass Battleground
In this page-turning suspense action novel, private investigator and military veteran Clifford Dee finds himself in deep trouble.

After accepting jobs from an unrelenting local Mafia boss, Clifford is promoted from PI to hitman...without the option to refuse. His envious arch-rival will do anything to take Clifford down a peg and earn back the favor of the mob...even if it means paying the ultimate price.

To find a way out of the Mafia's clutches, Clifford must make friendships and alliances in the most unlikely of places... and hopefully escape with his life intact.

Clifford's War: Without End
In this action-packed, twisty, and fast-paced continuation of the PI Clifford Dee thriller series, private investigator Clifford Dee is back with his team, this time in Northern Virginia, working with his former Army Rangers commander, Doyle Hamilton, in Washington D.C.

After a U.S. Senator was murdered, Doyle was chosen to run in a special election to fill his office. To qualify, he must step down from his army command and decides to hand the division over to a former military rival of Clifford's, Kevin Burr, who shuts Clifford out from work out of spite.

While his teammate, Bailey, takes on a minor copyright case involving a budding rap star, they uncover connections between a government department that Burr used to run and another famous rap artist, Dark Fenix, who was about to tour overseas as a cover to smuggle weapons into Africa for Burr. Things worsen when he also finds a connection between Burr and a ring of assassins for hire. Clifford discloses this information to Doyle, which makes things worse and Clifford's team is targeted. He must now work with Special Agent Sims of the FBI to continue investigating the weapons dealing, find who is running the assassins, and dig up evidence to incriminate Burr...all without getting killed. Clifford's team gets Dark Fenix's Africa tour canceled and Burr is in the hot-seat because he cannot deliver the weapons to the African warlords as promised. Stretched too thin, Burr finds himself in a deadly bind.

Clifford and Sims take on the assassins, resulting in one of them ending up in the hospital and an office fire being set to cover up evidence. More assassins are sent to finish the job, which turns into an all-out brawl, but they manage to escape. The assassins' leader gets the drop on the team and plans to force Clifford to watch his team die, one by one. This time there doesn't seem to be any escape...

Fans of action thrillers and crime suspense like the TV series Burn Notice are sure to enjoy this mile-a-minute story of government conspiracy, car chases, lethal encounters, and humorous situations.

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?

Inspiration can come from various different places. It could come from a song, movie, show, people-watching, or just observing nature. Letting you mind wander and thinking about how things work and why can give you ideas for story lines or plot points.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?

In the past, I liked reading mainstream authors, but now becoming a self-published author, I quite enjoy reading the indie-authors and getting a sneak peak into their minds and stories.

5) What's your next writing project?

My WIP is a prequel to my debut Novel, Clifford's War: The Bluegrass Battleground.
It follows two spree-killers from childhood to adulthood. It will give you an idea of how they became the nefarious killers they became in the first book.

My name is Indie John Baptiste, and I'm a high schooler.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?
My book's title is The Emerald Castle. It's about a young jewelry designer who takes a trip to an Irish castle where family members still reside to learn about their royal lineage. While there, she falls in love with businessman Alastar, attends balls, etc. The book is sold at various places.

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?
The book took place from October to January, so I revolved a lot of it around fall and winter activities and Christmas. Some of the dresses were inspired by Scarlett O'Hara's wide-skirted ballgowns, and Disney's Cinderella and Belle. I designed a jewelry piece on the Diamond Nexus site as inspiration for a jewelry piece in the book. I researched Ireland's noble families and names. This was partially a school project. Some of my ideas come from real life. Alastar's based on my dad - his interest in business, his name containing “al,” his saying that Brenna’s so beautiful, his being great at chess, his interest in the stock market, and his taking Brenna on a sleigh ride. The winter solstice chapter is based on something that really happened with him.

4) What books/authors do you like to read? I like some romance and YA fiction. I also like some classics.

5) What's your next writing project? I don't know quite yet! I’ve considered various ideas.

I’m a fan of Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and Horror. I started writing fourteen years ago when a strengths analysis suggested writing would develop one of my skills and a new writer was born.
To date, I have published five novels and a short story collection. The third book of my A Journey Toward Tomorrow trilogy will be released by the end of 2024.
I was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and now live in New Jersey.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?
My most recent release is Dreams & Little Nightmares, a short story collection available in softcover and ebook at Amazon. My many dreams over the years have, in some fashion, inspired the short stories in the book. I can assure you I have not actually dreamt of an old hag witch or an alternate reality, taken a trip to Hell, or been abducted by aliens. Dreams can inspire many strange ideas, and you never know where they may lead.
3) Where do you come up with your ideas?
My other five books, all novels, haven't had different inspirations. My Journey and Zeptulgar novels were inspired by news stories. My Psychic Storm novels were inspired by season two of Space 1999.
4) What books/authors do you like to read?
I enjoy the old masters, such as Asimov, Clarke, and Bova, and I'm looking for current writers to read. I prefer Sci-Fi, Horror, and Fantasy.
5) What's your next writing project?
I am 65,000 words into my third Journey Novel.

Her personal interests have to do with children, family, animals, health, agricultural sustainability, and higher levels of conscious living. She is herself a single parent of an amazing adult son and has been challenged by several serious illnesses. In her role as a Pantheist Minister, Caryl approaches everything as containing divinity.
Caryl is the author of Rich Board, Poor Board, Your Diet Success Plan: Lower Your Weight and Elevate Your Health and Happiness, and the forthcoming book, Navigating to Joy: 11 Steps Mapping Your Personal Path to Fulfillment.
With the launch of her new novel, A Brush With Mortality, Caryl is offering her first work of literary fiction under her own name.
She has degrees in landscaping, psychology, visual arts, and mythology. She particularly loves exploring ritual-based oral traditions, dragons, witchcraft, and steampunk.
Caryl is a certified strategic life coach specialized in Emotional Intelligence, and a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Practitioner, transforming dysfunctional emotions and behaviors to produce happier, more fulfilling daily outcomes. Through her practice DogWatch Navigation, Caryl offers these services as well as developmental editing and coaching for writers.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?

A Brush With Mortality (literary fiction)
This character-driven novel encompasses psychological mystery and suspense in a genuinely unique manner with spoiler alerts every step of the journey. Themes related to sexuality, LGBTQ+, HIV/AIDS, hospice, infidelity, and a little kink are explored in a partially epistolary format, and in the subtle dialogue between Letty Mae and the characters with whom she interacts.
By all outward appearances, she’s just a typical woman going through menopause at the turn of the 21st century. Living in a stale and distant marriage, her grown kids living their own lives, there is a psychological and sexual itch she hasn't felt in years that needs to be scratched. What are the secrets this Executive of a Hospice nonprofit keeps? Even she doesn’t know for sure –
Set in the San Francisco Bay Area in the year 2000, her journey explores meaning through death, erotic adventure, mystery, and those thoughts and actions we’d rather keep hidden. Letty Mae searches for what it means to be a female over 50 when the new century’s reality does not fit your worldview. Luckily, she has a guide in the form of an elite bisexual patriarch who must, in the end, die.
available as ebook and paperback (audio coming in late 2024)

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?

Mostly I have written fantasy, the current novel is literary fiction working on a premise of how everyone, even the reader, is judgmental and often wrong in their judgement.

Quirky news articles, or really anything that catches my eye, I will set aside and wait for a story to suggest itself. The world is full of weird things that might be stories that need telling.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?

I like well written books of most genres but my favorite authors tend toward satirical fantasy, Pratchett, Gaiman, etc.

5) What's your next writing project?

My WIP is back to fantasy. It is the first in a series about of a family of Sicilian witches in Massachusetts. It is based on the journals given to me by a friend, who happens to be third generation Sicilian/American witch.

I’m here to show you, without delay, that your own inner wisdom will lead the way.
A journey we'll take, with passion and care, to transform your life, if you dare.
I spent my life in shadows, hiding away, afraid and unsure, just living each day.
A constant war within my mind, left me exhausted, peace hard to find.
Through therapy, energy work, and books galore, courses and schooling, I explored more.
Still, I felt broken, something was wrong, until I discovered my true inner song.
“No, I’m not broken, there’s nothing to fix! I’m a beautiful blend, a magical mix!”
Now my mission is clear, my purpose in sight, to help others shine their own inner light.
I’m an author, a guide, a healer, you see, certified in massage and Magnetic Mind coachery.
Reiki, chakras, theta healing too, intuitive development, I bring to you.
I love to dance, to sing, to create, meditation, laughter yoga, they’re truly great.
Learning and growing, every single day, helping others find their way.
You’re not broken, there’s no need to fear, success isn’t personal, let’s make that clear.
It’s structural, a journey, always creating, a life you’ll love, no more hesitating.
So come along, let’s start this quest, to find your potential, your very best. With joy and laughter,
let’s begin, to unlock the magic that lies within.

2. My book is Are You My Happiness?

Once upon a time, in a city so bright,
Lived a woman named Emma, with dreams taking flight.

She was smart, she was kind, worked hard every day,
But lately, dear Emma felt lost in some way.

Join Emma on her whimsical quest,
To find where her happiness might truly rest.
From cozy cafés to hilltops serene,
She searches for joy in places unseen.

At Luca's café, with coffee so warm,
And Mr. Kendrick’s office, amidst the work swarm.
Through books with Mr. Gupta, and markets with cheer,
To yoga with Ms. Lee, finding peace very near.

Each friend gives a clue, each stop adds a layer,
But happiness, dear Emma, lies not in the player.
For happiness blooms from a place deep inside,
In the heart, where true joy and love coincide.

With verses that dance and illustrations so bright,
Discover where happiness hides in plain sight.
A tale for all ages, both tender and wise,
That joy is within us, like stars in the skies.

This special book, with colors so grand,
Has highlighted sentences, a helpful hand.
Inclusive for children of all learning styles,
It brings out the best, with fun and with smiles.

So open these pages and follow along,
With Emma’s sweet journey, in story and song.
And remember, dear reader, through laughter and tears,
Your happiness is with you, through all of your years.

3. I came up with this idea when I was reading the book Are You My Mother? to my nephew. It reminded me of how we all look for happiness outside of ourselves, when happiness is actually an I inside job.

4. I love reading , new age, spirituality, inspirational biographies, self improvement. general fiction and mysteries.

5. my next projects are a book about how step into your power and create a life that you love, and a fiction story based on the foundational principles of conscious creation. Of course there will be more Emma adventures as well :)

Lori Nates | 16 comments Hi everyone!

1) What is your name and bio?
My name is Lori Nates and I live in New Jersey. I am a mother and children's book author. I have written two young reader books, "Misty the Unicorn and the Magical Rainbow" and "Misty the Unicorn and the Shouting King." I write children's books that focus on good morals, traditional values, and patriotism.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?

My new book is "Misty the Unicorn and the Shouting King" (Book 2 in the Misty the Unicorn series). It will be available on November 5 on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and all major online book retailers. Here is the Amazon link: https://a.co/d/hcxC1LR

Book description:
It’s Hanukkah time, and Becka Cohen wants nothing more than to celebrate the holiday with her family. But amid the joyous celebration, Becka feels a lingering sadness. For her secret friend, Misty the Unicorn, has not returned as she promised.

When Misty finally reappears, with a mysterious explanation as to her long absence, Becka is thrilled to learn that they will visit the royal palace of Rainbow Domain. Becka returns to this magical country and is reunited with her old friends Fortune the leprechaun, Ben Smith, and Prince Ani. She also meets the loud but lovable King Rincki, the charming Queen Camellia, and the lovely Princess Acacia.

In this delightful sequel to Misty the Unicorn and the Magical Rainbow, readers will once again journey to the end of the rainbow. Tour the royal palace along with Becka, Misty, and Ben. Discover the amazing history of Rainbow Domain and learn how King Rincki earned his nickname of “the Shouting King.” Is King Rincki really as scary as he seems? Will Becka be able to solve the mystery of why Misty stayed away so long?

This second book in the Misty the Unicorn series takes readers back to a fantasy world full of laughter, fun, and happiness, but also with an underlying sense of mystery and possible peril. Misty emphasizes the importance of safety, security, and patriotism in a clear and entertaining way, teaching children traditional values that are woven into a fantasy story. And if readers look closely enough, they will see certain similarities between the character of King Rincki and a specific modern-day American president.

Prescription for a Frozen Heart, a Medical Romance Prescription for a Frozen heart, a medical romance, (p4f) is a love story mixed with medical drama. It will be released on 1 March on Amazon and Kobo. Pre-orders are available. https://books2read.com/u/mZV6xp

Blurb: Workaholic, kid-shy Dr Charlotte ‘Charlie’ Kriel is a petite, fiery sports doc who’s built her life around two simple rules: men are not to be trusted and kids are best avoided.

Anaesthetist Dr Thomás Ribeiro is everything a woman could wish for: a skilled healer, a devoted father, and undeniably Dreamland’s most swoon-worthy doctor. Except love is not on his prescription pad or in his frozen heart.

Charlie’s broken heart’s strong cage worked perfectly until she meets eleven-year-old Emilía and her delectable but irritating dad. It’s bad enough fighting the impossible yearning for a child of her own, now she needs to squash her debilitating attraction to the Arctic Iceman.

Thomás is captivated—and frustrated—by Charlie’s fierce spirit and the glimpses of vulnerability he sees. But when she finds out he is keeping secrets from his daughter, she asks for the impossible: he must come clean with Emilía.
He could lose everything…or win it all…

If you adore single dads, smart-mouthed kids longing for a family, and heart-warming romance wrapped in medical drama, you’ll fall hard for this emotionally charged tale of love, healing, and second chances. A guaranteed happily ever after awaits!

Charles Cordell (charlescordell) | 8 comments 1) What is your name and bio?

Charles Cordell is the author of English Civil War historical fiction series Divided Kingdom. A former soldier, he is an author with experience on the ground in the Middle East, South Asia and North Africa - witnessing humanity at its best, its worst and its near most desperate.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?

Charles Cordell’s latest book is The Keys of Hell and Death: Divided Kingdom Book 2. From the brutal Battle of Lansdown Hill to the Storming of Bristol in 1643 – Divided Kingdom book #2 takes some of the characters from God's Vindictive Wrath to the edge of Hell and drags others into the conflict that racks Britain. All must face the brutal reality of civil war.

“Heart-pounding action, heart-breaking loss as a nation tears itself apart. The ground shudders from cavalry attack and cannon fire. You can smell the sweat of fear. Not to be missed.” David Gilman, award winning author of the Master of War series, The Last Horseman and The Englishman.

The Divided Kingdom books are available instore in the UK from Waterstones, Foyles, Toppings and good independent bookshops. They are available online in the USA, CAN, AUS and internationally from Amazon, Bookshop and Booktopia.

Book reviews, details, links and more here on Goodreads and on the website at: https://charlescordell.com

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?

The Divided Kingdom books are based on historical events. They are as historically accurate as possible. Many of the characters are known to history. I also draw on my service as a soldier – on time spent in the fraying margins of civilisation, as well as a deep study of The General Crisis of the 17th Century and its parallels today.

The writing is gritty and real. It has been described by some as brutal. However, as a former soldier, I do not believe in hiding the truth of combat. The characters and issues within the stories are highly relatable. They are also sharply relevant today.

The books take a fresh approach. They are not based on a single hero. They do not take sides. Their voices – ordinary men and women – face each other in the chaos of Britain in civil war. Hardship, inequality, injustice scar each character. Each faces the brutal reality and human emotions of war – the bloodiest in British history.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?

As a full-time author, I spend much of my time in book research. My reading today tends to be non-fiction 17th Century history. However, when I have time, I still enjoy novels by the likes of CS Forester, Patrick O’Brian, Bernard Cornwell, Winston Graham, Daphne du Maurier, Graham Greene, Patricia Highsmith and JRR Martin.

5) What's your next writing project?

I am currently writing Divided Kingdom book #3. This is a novel that opens with the Massacre of Bolton and ends four weeks later at the cataclysmic Battle of Marston Moor.

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?
My book is titled Tudor Dynasty: An Introduction.
It offers a concise yet informative exploration of the Tudor royal family, focusing on the political, religious, and personal aspects that defined one of the most iconic periods in English history.
Written for both curious readers and students of history, the book provides an accessible overview of the Tudor monarchs and their lasting impact.

5) What's your next writing project?

2) What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?

Title-

My book is called "Comprehensive Hindi English Bilingual".

Synopsis-

Learning Hindi is a lot like learning Music. Hindi has a structure that includes Swar and Vyanjan just like in Music you have Keynotes and Notes. No one can count, how many songs can be made from Music. Similarly, one cannot fathom how many words and sentences can be made from Hindi.

This Comprehensive Hindi English Bilingual book is great for beginners who want to learn Hindi thoroughly in detail. It is similar to level 1 and level 2 in Hindi with additional clarifications. The phonics are in small capital letters and big capital letters for pitch and tone quality in English. This was done to simplify Hindi as a language.

Concept of Hindi Language is given at the beginning of the book. This is so that people can relate to the basics of Hindi as a language. This has Hindi Varnamala which includes all the alphabets of Hindi language. Here in Varnamala, Varna means alphabets and Mala means garland.

Hindi alphabets are divided in two parts that is Swars and Vyanjans. Here, Swars mean sound and Vyanjan means birth. Vyanjans are used to express, explain and can manifest.

I have also elaborated on the pronunciations with Hindi and then English Phonics along with translations in English. On one side of an alphabet page; the phonics is in English. On the other side of an alphabet page; there is a sequential break down of words explaining the alphabet in Hindi and then English phonics. It also has translations in English.

Each alphabet in Swars and Vyanjans are explained with Hindi and English Phonics along with pictures. How to write them is also given with numbers and dashed red line to follow. Along with all these, I have explained complexities of Matras that are the degrees of pitch and tone. Pitch can be high or low and tone is the sound quality.
Visarg which means sacrifice is also described.

Anunasik where anu means atom and nasik is exhaling from the nose is explained. Anuswars comes after Swars in Hindi Varnamala. I have used the Sanskrit Dictionary for reference. It's learnsanskrit.cc website run by the Indian Government. All the pictures have been taken from Pixabay and are open to publish commercially.

I have kept bright colored pages so that people who are suffering from Dsylexia can read it with ease.

Please do give me your feedback in the Reviews on the benefits, improvements and problems you are facing while reading my book.

Comprehensive Hindi English Bilingual Book is available for purchase at https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F3X7P4D5

3) Where do you come up with your ideas?

Dr. Samuel Caudry (PhD, Anthropology) and I were brainstroming on how to generate revenue in a week or two weeks Gigs. It was Samuel's idea to build a Hindi Language Book. But then Paul black balled with "how can I read this book?" so I made it for English speakers. This book started as a small two weeks Gig that took nearly 4 years to complete. John who is my mentor: is a huge support and he has helped me out significantly.

4) What books/authors do you like to read?

My favorite authors are Jo Witek of In my Heart, Gary Chapman of 5 love languages, Margret Rey, H.A.Rey of Curious George, Jessica Joelle Alexander and Iben Dissing Sandahl of Danish Way of Parenting, Christie Matheson of Tap the Magic Tree.

5) What's your next writing project?

My upcoming projects are 3 Interactive, Personalized Books on Organic Bamboo Canvas. One Blanket Book and Mat Book. I will then build a Comprehensive Gujarati English Bilingual Language Book. 2nd Edition of Comprehensive Hindi English Bilingual Book.

Thank you, I hope that I have answered your questions, satisfactorily.

message 444: by Joshua (new)

Joshua Bish | 2 comments Hello Vincent, I recently found this group and thought I would throw my information out there. Thank you for the opportunity.

What is your name and bio?

My name is Joshua Bish. I’m a horror author from Princeton, West Virginia, an Army veteran, and a 18-year law-enforcement professional currently serving as a campus police officer at Concord University (where my current series takes place).
My fiction leans into Appalachian folklore, theological dread, and the unease of institutional spaces, think haunted halls, bad history, and secrets that don’t stay buried. I’m a husband, dad of three, and a very proud grandpa. When I’m not writing, I’m on night shift, walking real hallways that inevitably crawl into my books.

What is your book title, synopsis, and where can readers find it?

Title: The Lady in Flesh (Book I of the Psalms of the Tear series)

Synopsis: In 1603 Appalachia, a vision-fast meant to guide a young Lenape woman, Wenonah, instead opens a wound in the world. When a Puritan outpost carves a home where it shouldn’t, something ancient answers. What follows is a slow-burn descent into grotesque transformation, sacred blasphemy, and the origin of a horror that will echo for centuries.

Also in the series: Room 316 (modern-day haunted-dorm horror set at a fictionalized Concord University) and Blood of Psalm (Book III, continuing the war between the living and the Shadow Realm).

Where to find it: Available on Amazon in paperback and Kindle (included in Kindle Unlimited). Audiobooks are in production with narrator Ashen Morire.

Where do you come up with your ideas?

From the night shift and the mountains. My work blends real campus police experience (the quiet, the keys, the things you hear at 3 a.m.) with Appalachian history, abandoned places, and Indigenous and settler folklore. I’m obsessed with the question, “What if the land remembers?” I build stories where faith, guilt, and place grind against each other until something terrifying crawls out.

What books/authors do you like to read?

I gravitate toward dread-heavy, character-driven horror and dark folklore: Shirley Jackson, Stephen King, Clive Barker, T. Kingfisher, Laird Barron, and Josh Malerman. I also read Southern/Appalachian voices for texture and place, plus am a bit of a nerd, and will read graphic novels as well as procedural nonfiction to keep the details honest.

What’s your next writing project?

I am starting the outline for the next book in the series (title TBA) In parallel, I’m assembling a lore/bestiary compendium for the Psalms of the Tear universe with the monsters, timelines, maps, the whole dark cathedral. On the lighter side of my brand, I’m continuing work on a cryptid/paranormal logbook, a dark humor journal, seasonal student planner and an Appalachia-inspired coloring book of abandoned places.

All my works can be found on amazon, as well as on my website
