***ANY TIME PERIOD, FICTION OR NON-FICTION***

Okay everyone, it's that time of the month - time to nominate! Anyone who would like to nominate ONE book may do so in this thread.

The theme this month is SCANDINAVIAN OR RUSSIAN ROYALTY. We can definitely be flexible with the theme - if only part of the book deals with Scandinavia or Russia and the rest takes place in some other country, that is fine. Same idea with individuals - for example, if someone was born in a Scandinavian country but spends the rest of his time in England, that's fine too.

Please try to check amazon or some other site to make sure the book is easily available - the last thing we want is to nominate some great book that no one can get! If you nominate more than ONE book, only the first book listed will make it into the voting thread (so save additional books for the next months!). Also, if the book doesn't fit the theme, I won't add it to this month's voting list, but I will carry it over to the next theme that it does fit under if you would like.

Feel free to nominate one book of your choice in this thread until December 4th, 9pm Eastern.

At around that time, I'll make a voting poll and list all the nominated books in it, and people can vote in the poll until the poll closes (around end of December 8th). Discussion can start on JANUARY 15th.

Happy Nominating!

Lisa (violaashford) | 10 comments I nominate Most Beautiful Princess by Christina Croft.

This is about GD Ella, the Tsarina Alexandra's sister.
It has had extremely good reviews and Croft also wrote a bio of Ella.

Terry | 11 comments I nominate The Kitchen Boy by Robert Alexander

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 378 comments Peter the Great by Robert K. Massie. Winner of a Pulitzer in 1981.

Cathie | 38 comments I read Peter the Great and it was wonderful. Also, I believe he wrote Catherine the Great, which was also a good read. A very interesting character was Catherine.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 378 comments I did not know he had done a bio of Catherine the Great - his book about Nicholas and Alexandra is excellent.

Hi Terry, we actually already read this as a group read a while ago (excellent book if you haven't read it). Would you like to nominate the follow up book (Rasputin's Daughter) or a different book?

Mandy Moody | 544 comments I'll nominate Rasputin's Daughter!
I thought the Kitchen Boy was excellent and would love to read the follow up :)

Sara W (sarawesq) | 2153 comments Alright, Rasputin's Daughter is in! Sorry to be closing this thread before Terry has a chance to reply, but I'm desperately trying to get back on (my self imposed) track. Time to vote!

Terry, certainly feel free to dig through and find those older Kitchen Boy threads if you'd like to comment in them (it was a European Royalty group read last Jan 15 - Feb 15). People will still read the comments and add to it.
