haha that's why I figured I would ask because I kept thinking how much I see it in movies and books but really I've never heard of anyone killing anyone with their coupon cutting scissors :)

Sara (hoot31) Sara, will you take That Old Cape Magic That Old Cape Magic by Richard Russo ?
I was thinking for white, and then when I looked at the library, all the words on the front are all the other game piece colors. What are your thoughts?

For sure! If you haven't read the first book in that series, I'd go for Artemis Fowl (Artemis Fowl, #1) by Eoin Colfer as yellow/mustard/sorta goldish... Or book 6 Artemis Fowl The Time Paradox (Artemis Fowl, #6) by Eoin Colfer for green.

Their coupon-cutting scissors??? *snorts* That's a HILARIOUS mental picture (other than the blood...)... I can just picture you cutting out coupons and someone interrupting you, and then you erupting... ;) Kidding...

But sort-of-seriously, I just read To Kill a Mockingbird, and there's that whole story about Boo Radley making a collage, cutting pictures out of newspapers or magazines, stabbing his dad with the scissors, then going back to collaging...

Yes

Sara ♥ (saranicole) | 1114 comments Tara wrote: "Will this work for blue or is there too much gold? The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly"

It has a lot of blue, but when I look at it, "IT'S BLUE!" isn't the thought that comes to mind, you know? Maybe it seems like a weird call, but I'd take The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly for red, if you can get your hands on THAT version of the book...

Thank you Helen! My husband has been begging me to read Hatchet (it was one of his favorites when he was younger). I think I'll read that for this task and stick Time's Arrow somewhere else.

Jayme(theghostreader) (jaymetheghostreader) | 3041 comments Do we actual;ly have to read a book per color and per weapon and per place or do you just want the title of the book?

message 69: by Sara ♥ (last edited Dec 01, 2009 09:21PM) (new)

Sara ♥ (saranicole) | 1114 comments You need to read ONE book that has a cover that is predominantly red, blue, yellow, green, purple, OR white.

AND

You need to read ONE book that has the name of a weapon in the title (any weapon, not just one of the six in the game.

AND

For the places, ONE of the above books you read should be from a library. (This can include your PERSONAL library, meaning it can be a book you already own.)

So in total, read 2 books, one of which should be from a library. Does that help?

Jayme(theghostreader) (jaymetheghostreader) | 3041 comments yes that helps.

Yes to both. I see a monkey theme here...

Thanks for that! I was like, "How do you spell that one poison that they mention in Anne or Green Gables that that one girl put in the family's well..." And that's the one!

Diane wrote: "Sara ♥ wrote: "No Fist Is Big Enough to Hide the Sky. It is about war and liberation in an African country. "
WOW. That sounds intense. Sure... go for it!

Definitely

I REALLY can't tell what color that is... On Amazon, it almost looks dark yellow... Or possibly brown.... If you can't find another book to read, you could probably twist my arm...

I own this book. It's definitely green...kind of like an army green or the color of a fern. It looks a bit washed out in the online image. I just wasn't sure if you would object to the size of the title and crossed arms.

Mmmmmmm.... I looked at covers online and some show purple with a blue book, some look all purple... So I'm leaning toward no. This alternate cover would count for white: Political Death by Antonia Fraser...

Also, I'm assuming plurals of weapon words are okay? So I could use Knives at Dawn America's Quest for Culinary Glory at the Legendary Bocuse d'Or Competition to count for "knife"?
