vicki_girl | 2764 comments Children's Horror author R.L. Stine needs some help from our multi-ligual librarians, specifcally those who speak

German (This appears to be the most prevalent)
French (I know some French, but don't have time now)
Either Arabic or Farsi
Asian language(s) (either Japanese, Chinese, or possibly Korean)

TIA

Angie (angabel) | 52 comments Should the series information be consistent as well? i.e. Goosebumps, #whatever, instead of Goosebumps, No whatever?

message 3: by vicki_girl (new)

vicki_girl | 2764 comments Probably, but I was hoping to whittle down the 500 distinct works first! :)

message 4: by vicki_girl (new)

vicki_girl | 2764 comments I am working my through them slowly as I have time. However, I could use help on the following. I think it's German.

Thank you.

Kasia That title means "The super-spooky book of horror stories" but I have no clue as to what to combine it with. And I agree that that author is one big intimidating mess.

vicki_girl | 2764 comments Thanks. It may be a German-language only anthology...

If you come across a list of titles in the anthology, it could be helpful in determining if it could be combined with something else.

vicki_girl | 2764 comments I am having a similar problem with the following...

TIA for your help.

message 8: by Kasia (new)

Kasia Er, that's the same book as before...

message 9: by vicki_girl (new)

vicki_girl | 2764 comments Oops, I thought I was linking to something else! I think it was this one.

On closer inspection, it looks like it may be Dutch rather than German.

Carolyn (seeford) | 573 comments Unfortunately, WorldCat only tells me it's Dutch and that the title and description (translated through BabelFish) are:
Title: Blood-curdling shudder tales
Desc: Cord short recovers concerning narrow subjects

Doubt it helps much, sorry!

ETA: When I check Fantastic Fiction, the cover on Nightmare Hour Time for Terror is almost identical...

Veerle | 1 comments It is indeed a Dutch translation of "Nightmare hour" .On this site you can find the Dutch versions of most of R.L.Stine 's books and the English title:
http://www.deboekenplank.nl/naslag/au....
If you need any support with the Dutch language, I will be happy to help!

message 12: by vicki_girl (new)

vicki_girl | 2764 comments Awesome! Thanks guys. It has now been combined.

Keith (kgf0) | 377 comments I've picked up a lot of this project - he gets filed under other names a lot, Robert L. Stine, Robert L Stine, R.L. Stein, R. L Stine, "R.L. )ZHU ?YE QIAN YI MEI )SI TAN (Stine" (yes, really) - so merging always makes a new bunch of combines. I've handled a lot of the German (still plenty left that might not be combinable), working thru Italian now, and eventually getting back to the (ugh) Chinese. Still hovering around 1,000 works, but that might not be off by more than a couple hundred.
