Mary Woldering | 87 comments I'd like to know how to post these things. I have a Facebook site and a fan base, but I really don't know much about the process of making a book really popular that way. Most of my fans are poor as the proverbial church mouse. I've mostly gotten "someday" promises.

message 617: by N. Onym (new)

N. Onym | 14 comments The Harlot Goddess by N. Onym
The Harlot Goddess

Warning: This is HORROR, not YA, not romance or erotica, or even the tale of a scorned woman.
This is black magik, sex and violence.
This is the tale of the devil's maker.
There are graphic depictions of murder, bestiality, incest, infanticide, fratricide, sodomy, rape, domination, schizophrenia, and everything else you dread to dream. The serpents and the spiders reign over you here. This is her world. You are nameless prey. She is the Harlot Goddess.
Book reviewers can't even finish this book. They say it's "too freaky", "it'll scare the hell out of my readers". They say it's too violent, too much, too scary.
Maybe they're right. But then, it wouldn't be horror.

message 619: by Roger (new)

Roger Owen Bishop (rogertheriter) | 12 comments My book UNHOLY ORDERS was the subject of a High Court action to try and ban it even before its UK release. Fortunately the judge decided that as it was a novel and not a memoir that the plaintiff had failed to establish his connection to the character in my book sufficiently to warrant banning its release. Unholy Orders by Roger Bishop

However, it is possible for a person to claim that your novels character is based upon them, and that they have been defamed as a result. This is something that all authors ought to be aware of. I certainly was not at the time I wrote my book, but I am now. You can read for yourself what all the fuss was about.

But all is not well in Utopia. To his astonishment, Hubi finds out slowly that Utopia is not yet ready to be called the land of his dreams. Evil is eating through the fabric of the society.
