The Cap'n speaks at twitter @kerrylynne2 and on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/pages/Pirate... - excerpts for Nor Silver and Nor Gold second book in The Pirate Captain series, June 2014 release

First off, I have a blog called Tales of Adversego which you can find here: http://updegrove.wordpress.com/ I'm currently running a step-by-step guide to self-publishing based on my own experiences that should be helpful to anyone who's just starting to explore that process. Experienced authors who would like to provide their own advice in comments would be very welcome.
Second, I'd love to have more reviews here at GoodReads, where I've only recently started getting actively involved. My book is a cybersecurity thriller called The Alexandria Project. I've got 42 reviews at Amazon with a composite score of 4.8 (out of 5), so a lot of people besides me think it's worth a read. You can find those reviews here: http://amzn.com/1457509288
I'd be happy to provide a free PDF, ePub or Kindle eBook copy to anyone interested in posting a review.
Thanks in advance for any help anyone is inclined to offer.
Andy

My letter was "Y", and I chose to write an essay on youth, and growing older. It is an odd subject for someone my age to tackle, I know. Such reflections are usually done by writers in their 50's and 60's. I thought it might be interesting to approach the idea of lost youth from the perspective of someone who is suddenly what the world would consider "an adult", and doesn't always feel equipped to handle such a responsibility.
I'd love if you'd read the essay here!
Please show us both some love with likes, comments, sharing, and all that jazz....:)

My name is Nihar and I am a college student at Cornell. I'm currently working on a new book titled, "The Corridor of Uncertainty." The book is about the inspiring journey of the Afghanistan cricket team. Many of the players there grew up playing cricket in refugee camps (because the Taliban banned all sports in Afghanistan, there was major danger, and families faced poverty), but persevered against all odds to qualify for the 2015 World Cup for the first time ever in the country's history. The team is single handedly uniting the war-torn country of Afghanistan. At the moment, the players are preparing for next year's cup.
Even better, I have had the opportunity to work with movie directors and producers in California to discuss scripting the book into a movie once I am finished writing it. There is one major obstacle that I have to tackle though first before I can move forward - in order to complete the book, I need to travel and do some more research on the what type of environment the team grew up in, cricket facilities they had, and movie shoot locations. I need to raise at least $2,500 (ideally $5,000) to cover these costs and realistically finish the book to the best of my ability.
If you are able, it would mean a lot to me if you could donate some money to the campaign I started below:
http://www.hatchfund.org/project/the_...
There is no pressure to donate, but every single penny helps! $5 would go a long way. I definitely think the world needs to hear more inspirational stories like this. Positive news often gets covered by all the negative news in the modern day media. I really hope we can spread the message that positivity is everywhere. Even in Afghanistan, there is hope. You will definitely be seeing The Corridor of Uncertainty in a bookstore and movie theater near you if I can meet my fundraising target.
Thanks for supporting my dreams :)

Forever
Devon Tarantino
Blurb: Riley and Kyle have been best friends since they were nine-years-old. To them, it doesn't matter that Riley is a girl and Kyle is a boy, or that Kyle's parents make a lot more money than Riley's, or even that they live an hour away from each other. All that matters is that they've found a friend in each other unlike anyone else, and that they share a bond that is uniquely their own.
As Riley and Kyle grow up, however, they learn that life isn't always as simple and as easy as they once thought, and that the lines between friendship, love and hate aren't always so easy to define.
Blending genres and styles to exemplify the many ways people stay close in the face of physical and emotional distances, Forever is a story about growing up and learning, not only how to stand alone, but how to trust in those around you. It is a story about what is means to love and lose, and how to heal.
Not just a coming of age story, romance, drama, or inspirational fiction, Forever is, at its core, a story about two people trying to hold onto each other, despite everything life throws at them.

The book is based on transcripts of 24 hours of interviews with Mr. Stokes and several of the musicians from his 30+ year career rising up from the CBGB's underground to Carnegie Hall. To the late Frank A. Stokes, every note he played was a prayer.
