SciFi and Fantasy Book Club discussion

I belong to a science fiction/fantasy Yahoo group. We're going to be reading "Schism" by Catherine Asaro in May or June. I saw that you have one book on a shelf labled "not finished" or something like that. Can you enlighten me on what kept you from finishing it? Is it terrible? I've never read anything by this author before and I have no idea what her writing is like.

Thanks! I think I will give "Schism" a shot. It sounds like Asaro is an old-school science fiction writer. I tend to like books with great character development, but the old-school stuff can be good too.
