No, how is it? I've liked some of her books.

I just saw this book and was wondering too. I love her writing usually, but wanted to make sure it wasn't really sad.

I just bought it as well. The summary looked good. The only book of Shreve's that I haven't liked was Testimony. It just hit me the day I started it as terribly depressing and I laid it down and never finished. Her books always have a somewhat somber tone, but oh so beautifully written and I'm looking forward to this title (Change in Altitude)

Hi Jan, I agree her books are a bit somber but she does write beautifully. The last one I read of hers and absolutely loved was Body Surfing. Wonderful. Anxious to hear how this new one is.

I was just looking at this in the bookstore yesterday. It looks really good. I wanted to buy it, but didn't want to pay full price for hardcover so I'll be waiting a bit. Hope you enjoy it Carrie.

I Loved her book Light on Snow but haven't been able to get into any others by her (which I found disappointing). Her writing is... transportive (if I may make up a word, lol!). How is this Carrie?

Alright, ladies... I finished it yesterday. I really enjoyed it. TESTIMONY was terrible. I agree with all of you, but if you have enjoyed any of her other books, I strongly suggest you check out Change in Altitude!! The whole thing was good, but I hated the ending. Still worth reading though.
