Joanie | 23 comments I was talking to a friend of mine and she said she read an interview with Jodi and it mentioned that her last name is pronounced like Pico, not Picolt, the way I've always pronounced it. How have you guys been saying it? Now that I know I feel strange saying Pico, I've been saying Picolt for 7 or 8 years!

Ashley (readerandwriter) | 75 comments I've been saying it like this, (Pi-colt).

message 3: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 27 comments It's PicO. I heard her introduce herself. I still say Picoult.

message 4: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarahbeesley) I've always pronounced it "pee-coult" like an American. LOL When telling other people about her, I try to say the correct pronunciation. :-)

Miss Kim (thatsmisskimtoyou) I read on her website it's pronouced Pee-Koe.

message 6: by Joanie (new)

Joanie | 23 comments I don't know that I can adjust to saying it that way! I'm going to have to get over this, I know.

message 7: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (sweetpea) | 7 comments Haha. I have always said "pee-coult" as well. When I recommened the books to the Sarah above that is how I pronounced it. So it would be hard for me to say it differently as well. I even pronounce last names for a living and I still would have pronouced it that way it should not be. Oh well. Funny.

message 8: by Pauline (new)

Pauline | 5 comments yeah. its pee-koe. i learned it just recently. i have always been calling her picolt, anyway.haha.

It sounds kinda French... :)

message 14: by Mary (new)

Mary (mhung) | 2 comments I still pronounce it the way it looks, but someone told me they saw her being interviewed and she pronounced it Pico. But like most people I still think of it as the other way. Whenever I tell anyone about her I just say it both ways.

message 15: by Pamela (new)

Pamela My husband is a Princeton grad and she also went to school there....I think took writing classes there. Her last name is definitely pronounced PEE-CO.
