Ellen | 33 comments I did the 75 challenge for 2009 and have just finished my 99th book so I figure I should move on to this group. Looking forward to 2010!

Ellen | 33 comments Happy 2010 everyone. Here's the beginning of the list:

1) Catering to Nobody by Diane Mott Davidson
2) The Making of a Chef by Michael Ruhlman
3) The School of Essential Ingredients by Erica Bauermeister
4) Dying for Chocolate by Diane Mott Davidson

I realize as I type this list that all the books I have read to date have been about cooking in one way or another. Probably a good think I'm reading the Color Purple right now. (I wonder if you can put on weight just by reading too many "food" books?)

4 down, 96 to go!

Have you read anything by Anthony Capella? He writes"foodie fiction" as I like to call it. I would recommend The Wedding Officer and The Food of Love. 0 calories.

Em (emily27) | 21 comments You should also check out Joanne Harris. She wrote Chocolat (remember the movie where Johnny Depp is a gypsy?) The book is a little different but still amazing- can't decide which version I liked better!

I just picked up Blackberry Wine but I haven't started it yet- it takes places in Lansquenet- is that the follow up?

Yes, that's the one I mean. I think of it as a followup as it takes place in the same town.

Don't you just love Gilman? I reread her Mrs. Pollifax books regularly! I love the mixture of humor and wisdom she blends in her novels.
