Run out of books to read. That's a good one, Ann. Know any more?

Naw, we're just good helpers. I'll get mine done tonight.

Linda

Sidweena | 15 comments I'll start this AM with June of '08!

message 27: by Sidweena (new)

Sidweena | 15 comments June '08 is done so I'm starting on May of '08! Please Ann review and correct my guesses on the arrangement of some of the authors....Garcia Marquez, Gabriel and Zafron, Ruiz Carlos. I have seen them filed both ways and I have no clue which is correct.

message 28: by Ann (new)

Ann (akingman) | 2097 comments Mod
Just wow.
I think I'm not the one that needed to be told to go to bed ;)

Sidweena, should I mark Jan-March 09 complete or are you still working on those? Also, I think those names are right -- I'll double check and fix if necessary. Zafon I'm sure of, and pretty sure of Garcia Marquez.

message 29: by Sidweena (new)

Sidweena | 15 comments Oh yes...please mark Jan-March 09 complete as well as May of 08 as I am moving on to April 08.

Linda | 3099 comments Mod
Hey, Ann, there wasn't that much on most of the podcasts - 6 to 9. I know I'm super typist (85 wpm), but I also learned a lot about your site while I was doing it, so that I will be able to better use the site. BTW, July is finished. If you need any more help - just ask! It's always good to feel needed and able to help - especially something (one) we love.

message 33: by Sidweena (new)

Sidweena | 15 comments There are a few postings in March 08 so I am headed there to finish!

Ann (akingman) | 2097 comments Mod
I'm headed off for the weekend (early Christmas with my side of the family including my adorable 8-month old nephew)and likely won't be checking here during that time. You should all go enjoy yourselves and get off the computer!!

700????????????

We've talked about more than 700 books in under two years?
No wonder we need a vacation!

message 39: by Eric (last edited Dec 18, 2009 05:26PM) (new)

Eric Here are the leaders so far
A fraction of the whole 8 times
The girl with the dragon tattoo 7 times
The Story of Edgar Sawtelle 7 times
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society 7 times

All Great Books!

I am equally aghast that we've talked about 700+ books! And that you all have entered them!!

Maybe we should recommend fewer titles each episode? :)

message 41: by Kirsty (new)

Kirsty (kirstyreadsandcreates) | 116 comments I've only just seen the first post about this, so am too late to offer my help, but I have to say this is a fab idea! I have been trying to keep track of the books I want to read from the podcasts, but I'm sure I've missed some. The spreadsheet will be a huge help!

message 42: by [deleted user] (new)

I completed 07/2009! The very first episode for that month featured audiobooks so, for every title mentioned in that podcast, I not only included the author for that title, but the narrators for the book as well. I did the same for the one audiobook mentioned in 10/2009. The only other item that came up was when Jack Murnighan did his video clips on The Old Testament and on The New Testament. I listed "The Bible" and the author as "Various."

Thank you for the opportunity to help!

message 43: by Ann (new)

Ann (akingman) | 2097 comments Mod
Tanya, great idea to add the narrator. Thank you!!

Kirsty, no worries, we'll likely be calling for volunteers again later for some other project. We have lots of ideas! Thank you for wanting to help!

message 44: by Trish (new)

Trish (bowedbookshelf) good grief. looks like I am the only one who didn't do my month yet. i'm impressed.

message 45: by Trish (new)

Trish (bowedbookshelf) Well, podcasts for Sept 09 are complete. Will check the rest tmrw.

message 46: by Ann (new)

Ann (akingman) | 2097 comments Mod
Trish, thanks. Quick question: did you do only the podcasts, or the blog posts from September as well? Just trying to keep track of what to mark complete.

Thanks so much for your help!

message 47: by Trish (new)

Trish (bowedbookshelf) Ann, I have finished the whole month now, I believe. Both podcasts and blogposts, including the guest blogger, Josh Christie. The only thing I did not do is Sept 9, 2009 which is a list of hyperlinks to YA/Kids titles--Since these titles are listed elsewhere on your blog and these specific titles did not generate any discussion on this day, I did not include them. Proper, or not?

message 48: by Ann (new)

Ann (akingman) | 2097 comments Mod
Trish, that's perfect! Thank you so much!

message 49: by Trish (new)

Trish (bowedbookshelf) Ann, I thought you were taking the weekend off? If you were looking at this on Sunday morning, you didn't make an entire two days away. :(

message 50: by Ann (new)

I only checked periodically, I swear! It was a good excuse to get some "me time" away from family in my mom's spacious-but-too-small-for-the-entire-extended-family condo!
