What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

Hello -
About twelve years ago I read a book that was pretty much a sensual close-up of red-haired woman from her lover's perspective. I can't remember if he was her husband or she was his mistress, but it was set in the present time and the book is probably 15-16 years old.
I know this is pretty thin...

Apologies. I have now found the name of the book. I remembered it was written by someone who also wrote about Vietnam and searched a couple authors. The book is "They Whisper" by Robert Olen Butler. thanks.
