Bee (beegeisler) | 3 comments Ditto. :)
I've been having the same problem myself lately. The obvious solution is to include LOTS of personal reading time during our daily at-work projects ...

...

Ha.

Helen Pate | 3 comments I love Alice's idea. It takes me forever to read a book and magazines are taking over my itty bitty trailer. The only time I have to read is at lunch so a book that should take a day or two to read is taking forever!

Sarah (electricmayhem) I think it's because of the nice weather that I can't buckle down with a book. I read a fantastic one recently, and despite its fantasticness, I couldn't whip through it like I normally do with books.

Currently I'm reading An Arsonist's Guide to Writer's Homes in New England, which is slow going and making me covet other books that come across the desk. Oh well, I'll get to them eventually...what with no TV or Internet at home.

Catt (catt1138) | 1 comments i was so proud of myself lately. i was reading books from cover to cover! Of course, they were about how depressing & stark a future might await us as a civilization...

After those kinds of stories, i need some fluff & happily ever afters! (Quite possibly a hug too.)

But back to the topic, reading books for me is like dating. If the book doesn't interest me by the end of our first date, it goes back on the shelf.

The best thing i have gained from my experience, is to keep a couple of quick reads on my back burner for those dry spells between serial novels. ;0)

Anything from a smutty bodice ripper to a Young Adult paperback, or heck a Reader's Digest, will sate my appetite in those conditions.

i'm off the "Dystopian Future" kick & i'm prowling for another Good Read....

I'm so set in my ways, I guess. On work nights, I'm headed for bed by 9 so I can read for a couple of hours before shutting off the light. Guess that means I'm not watching much TV! (way behind on popular culture) But the upside is that I do 2-3 books per week. The downside is when I can't put it down and stay up all hours to finish it.
