Definitely MUST read in order. It really is more fun and each book refers to past events in some small way.

Then I read book #1 and I TOTALLY got hooked. I think she spends the first book or two making you fall in love with her characters then after that she ASSUMES you love her characters and just makes them NUTS. Which is the fun of it of course. But if you don't already love (ex.) Grandma Mazur, she's just going to bug you. So definitely read them in order.

At the way things are, no. Unless someone gets really popular dramatically.

Me too, me too!!

So, I settle on challenges, and lately, I'm on a kick for single-book challenges. : )

So, I settle on challenges, and lately, I'm on a kick for single-book chal..."
The single book challenges are a great idea! Nice, easy peasy challenge to finish!

Yes, it will continue to 2011.
Happy to hear that you like this challenge. It's one of my favorites, too. : )

(bad English is bad. sorry :/)

Elizabeth Lowell
Her Donovan series is probably one of her most famous (just 4 books I think, not in this order):

Lots of people also liked her St. Kilda Consulting series but I didn't think they were quite up to her suspenseful OR passionate standards.
My favorite of hers is the one set on an island off the Great Barrier Reef--and Lowell is sooooo good at painting vibrant word pictures, you can just feel the sand in your toes and the salty ocean spray on your face. This is a standalone and a little hard to find these days.

She's written "90 distinct works" according to Goodreads and I probably have read over 30 of them, maybe closer to 50. She's right up there on my "gotta read" list with Nora Roberts, Linda Howard, Suzanne Brockmann and (most of you might not have heard of her)
Shannon McKenna, though Shannon's sex scenes are notoriously explicit and frequently pages long....they've even begun to wear on my patience. I think it is authors like Shannon that the 50 shades wannabes started wanna-being.
Elizabeth Lowell has the ability to create a sense of passionate love--without sex. She writes a great sex scene, esp. first kisses, but she can create the passion in your heart without resorting to the lust of the flesh. When she does both, you're a goner :)
My apologies if we're not supposed to nominate authors for the FAC but I saw Lowell's name missing and she's been around as long (or longer) than many of the others nominated, best-selling with the best of 'em.
