"How about if I said why don't you buy some underrated propery in -- I have to of somewhere weird. In Nebraska?"

I actually think this was the one with Maggie and it's Innocent, isn't it?

I think she will discover the candy thief in Robb's final in death book.
In my opinion, it is Roarke. He often shows up in her office unexpectedly, although it could be someone not on my radar like the Commander. There are so many possible culprits it is difficult to guess.
Honestly, Eve has so many monitoring devices at her fingertips, that she could catch the thief if she wants to. She likes the game.

Yes I do, but she believes it is good police work. It amazes everyone who watches her when shes goes through what the killer does. I don't think she will ever say she is a sensitive or even that she has a unique skill.

Isn't it true in real life. Cops flip open their badge and intimidate.

I just put that (& other things like the AutoChef and cars that can go airborne) to the face this is a fictional book/series. Otherwise there would be a chance of someone like Roarke really being in the world.

A real world with Roarke. The women would be fighting for him daily.

You know this right here is what I find myself not liking often about her. Not to everyone but to the doormen/women and things like that. To people who are trying to do their job too.
Sharon, you're right about it being in real life too. Some more on the asshole side than others.

I think on a good day, any one of the two can checkmate their opponent (each other I mean). In fact, Eve especially can be made to lost through what they call Scholar's mate, or mate in less than 4 moves. A suggestive title in itself :)

Similar situation with me following Vampire Hunter D, only two movies were made, and that book series is about to get its own TV series.
Now in the case of J.D. Robb and the Eve Dallas/Roarke series, let's face it, if someone were to attempt at making every single book into a movie, it'd be just as frustrating as it would be when you see people make comic book movies. The movie series would be stale and would probably leave us fans very frustrated with burnout.
Which leads me to this opinion that I rather see this series go the Dennis Lehane route and only adapt at least one of the books into a movie, my pick would personally be Origin in Death on account that in the universe, that case was being adapted to its own movie and (view spoiler) and I think it would make sense for us to follow suit in real life. Not saying that the movie would be Oscar-worthy, not unless if someone were to REALLY put some work into making it good.
Just my own two cents on that subject, what do y'all think?
It’s been years now but we do have a post related to the In Death series being optioned for development. Looks dead…

They’ve never mentioned baseball in my recollection. I know there are references to football. Wonder if it’s still around.

I don't think she says Yankee or Mets, just baseball in general. I need to check later. I know Nora Roberts is a big Baltimore Orioles fan. She was raised in Glen Burnie, MD (Baltimore County), and lived in Severna Park in her early marriage years before moving to Boonsboro after her second marriage.

Thing is, New York is her adopted hometown, chances are she'll either go with the Yankees or Mets, no question. I guarantee you if Eve and Roarke were living in St. Louis, they'd not only feel at home over there, but they'd fall in love with both the Cardinals and the Blues fanbases. Same could be said for other sports cities.

I never said she wouldn't be a fan of a NY team. I said I don't know which one is her favorite. She discusses both teams at various times, mainly when she gives box seats to Dickie. Also, if you know New Yorkers, usually, they are soundly in the Yankees or Met camp.

I used to read the series 8 years ago. I suddenly remembered this scene and I want to reread the book. But I can’t remember the book! I read the first 45 books in the series so it’s definitely not one of the recent ones.
If anybody remembers please comment. I have been racking my brains for the past 4 hours

I keep track of this stuff and the most she’s been described is as a young female cop.

Like you can't find eye color, hair color, or even body type?
I looked through five books…no physical descriptions. That’s not unusual as she hasn’t provided physical descriptions for some of the members of her own team.
About all that's known about her is she's revealed to be a lesbian and a former lover of Gwen Huffman in Faithless in Death. No physical details in any of her appearances.

This question comes up often. While I get that some people feel this way, to me her actions are a big part of her early life. It is often hard for her to step back from the horror of her past. Also her job is stressful and can put her on edge. I know that my job is stressful (nothing compared to a homicide cop) and I will strike out for no reason. It feels realistic to me. If Eve was perfect, the books wouldn't be as successful.
No, Eve isn’t ashamed of his money. She just has a strong need to be self sufficient and doesn’t want to live off of his. She wants to earn for herself.
Many female leaders in law enforcement prefer to be called “sir” rather than “ma’am” in this male dominated profession. I noticed the captain in the TV series Castle (4th season) preferred to be called sir also. I get it.

I understand she want to be self-sufficient, but she gets so mad at him when he uses the limousine coming to the precinct. Like she made Peabody walk to the precinct when Roarke offers to drop her off.
I get it too, but I feel that you should feel proud that I am a female that made it in the male dominated profession. Hear me Roar I am woman.

She likes to keep Roarke's world and her world separate. When he comes to pick her up in a fancy car, she is going to get a ton load of ribbing.

Ok, I can see that now.
