I read something about this a few weeks ago. I hope it works.

Michelle | 2651 comments So I'm rereading NiD again.
I can't remember if we discussed this before so I'll apologise in advance if we have.
Eve has gone to roarkes's the first time to see his weapons collection but of course Roarke has other ideas. They start with dinner. Dinner is served by a woman.
My question is this. Did this woman ever appear again. I'm not talking about intimate moments. Just them in the house. I have an idea she was there when they have parties.

If I remember correctly, she is a member of the staff. In later books, Roarke doesn't use the staff to serve them except for parties. I could be wrong, but I think staff was part of Nora's trilogy plan. Things change when it became a longer series.

Michelle | 2651 comments I think you are right Sharon. A lot of things in reading and I'm thinking this was the plan for the trilogy.

Veda (moonchild63) | 104 comments I'm hoping that this is the place for my inquiry:

The Novella's

Whose read them/any & have there been any new ones!?

Also, if you have read any/them - do you only read the JD Robb submission or the other authors/stories?

message 857: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth | 127 comments I have read most of them. TBH I don't usually read the other short stories (I know I should). But I've also gotten just the sets that only have a collection of three of the novellas.

message 858: by Veda (new)

Veda (moonchild63) | 104 comments TBH, me too

🤦

I miss them & was wondering if there were any new ones

or if she's even doing them anymore.

I’ve read all of them but just the JDR novellas in those anthologies. She hasn’t done any in the past few years. Check out the book list for reference.

Veda (moonchild63) | 104 comments Thanks Jonetta

"me too"

on just the JDR's.

I've read them all, just wondered because had not seen or heard of any - mores the pity, yet she's busy & a grandma now etc.

They popped into my head (when I got the new Sweepstake nitice) & thought it would be a good question/conversation topic.

Have a good evening

I think her goal with the novellas was to promote the other authors. Many of us just read the JDR novellas and skipped the other stories.

Ahhh, that makes sense 🌺

Agnieszka (agnieszka7) | 259 comments What is the title of the book where a stewardess is killed? Some details I remember: her sister finds her; the victim was one of Baxter’s lovers and if I remember correctly the case was around Peabody’s detective exam.

Now that I don't get any notifications, I don't see posts unless I look for them.

The Book is Born in Death. The murder victim is an accountant who was killed with her boyfriend. Baxter's friend is the Stewardess who stops at her sisters on one of her trips.

It is also the baby shower book and Bella's birth.

Thank you. Of course that was the one I didn’t check *grins*

message 869: by Rejina Khar (new)

Rejina Khar | 2 comments Does anybody remember which In Death book was it where Whitney told Eve one of the reasons she couldn't be a captain was because of her marriage with Roarke? And when Roarke found out he got upset because by then he has helped the NYPSD with many cases? Been trying to figure out which book this scene was for years.

Witness in chapter 16

In Purity Tibble tells her that she'd be wearing captains bars in not for perception and image.

And in Born ID Whitney talks about that as well. Chapter 7

message 872: by Kell I Am (new)

Kell I Am | 5 comments As a general idea... I have an excel spreadsheet where I list the book, the chapter number, and the scene I like. I started it quite a while back and on my rereads I sometimes adjust it. That way I can keep track of the scenes that are important to me.

I wish I’d been smart about doing that.
