Young Adult Fiction for Adults discussion
Introductions

I'm the author of "The River Way Home: The Adventures of the Cowboy, the Indian, & the Amazon Queen” a historical adventure and coming-of-age tale that was recently named 2013’s Best Florida YA Book as well as Best Florida Adult Fiction by the Florida Authors and Publishers Association.
The Tampa Bay Library Consortium says, “…this lovely story is about Queenie, a young black girl, and her two young male friends, a Seminole Indian and a Florida cracker who get lost on a trip to Lake Okeechobee and have to find their way back. High ratings from the librarian judges in two categories!"
We’re currently doing a Goodreads Giveaway that ends November 13. Please enter. http://bit.ly/The-River-Way-Giveaway We'd love to have you review it.

I am Prash, the author of "The Eyes that Drowned Uyuni". Thanks for the invite, so great to be here:-)

"I am here. All yours. In this moment. With no past, and an unknown future. I am here, with you, right now."
"Yes....", I had no clue where this was going.
"You, the keeper of my soul", she was looking straight into me now with her sharp, honest, and gullible eyes.
"Will you marry me?"
My heart stopped for an eternity.
I realized: my desire to own her, was no longer awake.
Suddenly, this was not an animal game anymore.
She was not a prey. And I was no longer a predator.
She was getting into me - through my eyes.
She could see me. She could feel me.
Knowing nothing about my fights, my love, my crusades, she was there - asking me an honest question.
She knew I couldn't say no.

I have been an avid reader since I was about five years old (I'm going to be 25 this year). I read a bit of everything, but I especially like YA because YA novels tend to be a bit more adventurous. I'm always looking for a new adventure.
I'm from New York, but I'm writing to you from a small town in South Korea (how's that for adventure?), where I teach kindie-middle school students and live in a one-room efficiency with a half-cat, half-Chinese forest cat I found on the street at three days old.
Anyway, I'm really looking forward to getting to talk to you all. Happy Reading~

I'm Martin and I'm from the heart of England. I'm the author of a trilogy which was penned for my children. I've stopped writing now and can enjoy reading. I'll read pretty much anything but rather slowly, as my full time job and young family take up most of my time (can't remember what it's like to not feel tired?).
Best wishes all.

I am Jorge, I am currently enjoying all these young adult stuff. So I figured the best way to get more out of it is joining a group. I hope to meet my goal by end of the year nd hopefully move into different categories. Please feel free to add me as I'm still new to good reads.I am also a respiratory therapist , graduated in 2012. I am open minded about reading ,but at longest it's not a tuff read. Where I hav to constantly look up a word ever few sentences. :( one day I built up to that level.
Happy reading,
Jorge

I'm looking forward to checking out all your posts to see what recommendations are out there.

I look forward to finding new books to read and offering suggestions, too! :)

I read divergent recently nd I'm debating wrether I should continue the series. What stops me is the amount ppl that we're killed in the first book. The hunger games left me w that trauma .im trying to avoid me getting attached to characters to later find out there end up dyin at the end :(
Btw welcome to the group ,
Jorge

These writers make it hard for readers. Sometimes. I think endings should match the amount of effort the main character put in. They deserve a good outcome after all they went thru. It's been a while I don't pick up a book like that.
I'm going to b puting invergent as one my upcoming reads than :)

Happy reading S.K.,
Jorge

I love young adults book!! Especial fantacy books..
I'm glad to meet you all!

I started off reading adventure books, then went to romance, and now I read supernatural and dystopian genres. I can honestly say I am never not reading. About a year ago I started writing and now I am in the middle of 3 books. Haha! I might never finish them but I can at least say I tried. I'm glad to be in this group and look forward to sharing my opinions on extraordinary(or not so extraordinary)books.

I also really love to read mysteries and urban fantasy but I'll give almost any book a try. I love talking books but sadly I don't have too many people to do that with. Hopefully I'll meet a few good ones here!

But anyway, I hope to meet more people through this group and maybe discover more brilliant books as well :)
