Natalie (delicatebooks) | 1 comments Hi everyone! I'm Natalie, 23 yrs old in the LA area. YA is obviously my choice of books, and I love reading Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Mystery, Chick-Lit, & Classic Lit.The YA book of the month for me is All the Bright Places, and I'm currently reading Armada by Ernest Cline.

If you have any recommendations, please let me know and feel free to add me! :)

message 1503: by Tessa Palmeri (new)

Tessa Palmeri aka Tonya Preece | 1 comments New here. Looking for like-minded YA fans that are decades past that actual category. I'm a fan of most dystopian series, some vampire series, lots of romance, and general coming-of-age stories. Life-long avid reader of several genres - romance, historical fiction, mysteries. I love me a good disaster/epidemic story, too!

message 1504: by Veronica (new)

Veronica Hi book lovers!
I'm Veronica and just joined this group.
Favourite books are LotR and Harry Potter :)

message 1505: by Nancy (new)

Nancy (nankay) | 4 comments My name is Nancy, and I'm a smidgen obsessed with YA (insert bored chorus of "Hi, Nancy" here).

My current favorite author is Maggie Steifvater (specifically The Raven Cycle and the Scorpio Races). Anxiously awaiting the final Raven book early next year.

I also have a YA manuscript in progress. I had to put it aside earlier this year because some other creative projects needed to be completed, but if I actually survive October, my nose goes back to the writing grindstone. If there are any other would-be YA authors out there I'd love to hear from you.

message 1506: by Giulia (last edited Oct 26, 2015 02:50PM) (new)

Giulia Hi! I'm Giulia from Italy, but most people just call me Jun.

I enjoy many different literary genres, but YA literature is probably my favourite. I really like the books set in the Shadowhunters universe by Cassandra Clare, and I'm a fan of the work of Maggie Stiefvater.

I am currently writing a YA novel that should be finished in a few months and, hopefully, I'll have it published as soon as possible. I would love to chat about writing and reading YA books! :)

message 1507: by Amy (new)

Amy Hello, I'm Amy from Australia. I'm a big fan of young adult books, I also like chick lit and basically any read that's fun. I don't get to read as much as I would like as I have two young children but I'm hoping I'll get more free time soon. Looking forward to meeting you all.

message 1508: by Madeline (new)

Madeline Dyer (madelinedyer) | 3 comments Hi everyone!

I've been in this group for a while, but just realised that I haven't introduced myself!

So, I'm Madeline Dyer, and I love reading YA! And I'm looking forward to finding some new recommendations, because I just can't seem to stop buying books. Seriously, I have a problem with this--even when I have stacks and stacks to read, I can't seem to walk past a shop without taking a look and... um... buying another.

I'm also a full-time writer. I'm the author of Untamed and Fragmented, two dark YA dystopians from Prizm Books/Torquere Press.

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Madeline

message 1510: by Kate (new)

Kate (ratgirlstudios) | 9 comments Hello I'm Kate. I'm currently working as a Teen Service Librarian and as such I'm constantly reading YA books. I'm a great lover of Neal Shusterman and love a good scifi or fantasy YA.

Alice-Elizabeth (Prolific Reader Alice) (marriedtobooks44) | 1 comments Hey everyone, I'm Alice. I joined this group a while back but haven't posted anything until now. I am a teen book blogger from England who is celebrating a very big birthday this year! ;)

Feel free to friend me, I love chatting to others but I sometimes struggle with shyness. :)

message 1512: by Alex (new)

Alex (cannedham) | 2 comments Hello! I'm Sam, I'm 29 and I'm from Australia. I love Harry Potter and The Hunger Games with great enthusiasm. I'm so glad this group exists! I would love to talk to other adult YA lovers. Please feel free to friend me.

message 1513: by C. (last edited Jul 16, 2016 03:24PM) (new)

C. | 13 comments Hi everyone, I am probably the oldest to join this group at age 65, but I read many genres, and most important is that the books are 'clean'. That is why I created my own group, for a source for books for myself and other similar readers. Also why I enjoy a lot of YA. :D

Clean,Non Religious-Reads
https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...

I enjoy a lot of YA and even some middle grade books, as anyone will see if they check out my bookshelves on my profile page.

I am looking forward to discovering even more titles here.
Happy Reading Everyone!
Chris

message 1514: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 1 comments I have been on Goodreads for quite sometime. After several unsuccessful attempts to find a book club that actually, enjoyed reading & discussing books....and people that shared my love of fantasy, SiFi, YA, etc.

GR has allowed me to feed my competitive side with reading goals & group read challenges, connect with readers, authors and book nerds :) such as myself , while providing an amazing community to discuss, review & recommend good reads!!

Not sure why I waited to search out this group, but I am glad I found it.

My job requires me to travel 70% of the time, so I alternate between reading and using Audible to listen to books while I work ( I'm obsessed).

I'm currently listening to:
The Darkest Minds series by: Alexandra Braken
- just finished the 2nd one & on to the 3rd now

I'm currently reading:
The Throne of Glass series by: Sarah J. Maas
The Killing Moon (Dreamblood Series) by: N.K. Jemisin
Division of the Marked by: March McCarron
Schooled in Magic by: Chris Nuttal
The Red Queens War Series by: Mark Lawrence

If you are looking for a good read or a new series to dive into checkout my shelves! I'm looking forward to seeing what good YA books this group can recommend!!

☁️ Courtney ☁️ (courtneykb) | 1 comments Hi everyone, I'm Courtney. I'm 22 and currently studying for a masters in creative writing for young adults. I love reading YA and I want to also get into some classics and crime. If anyone has any suggestions for great places to start with either of those when you love YA, please let me know! ☁️

message 1518: by Natasha (new)

Natasha | 3 comments Hi Everyone,
I'm a mother of three, and reading is my way to escape the craziness in my lovey home. I sometimes am surprised I can read with all of them making noise. I guess I learned how to tune them out (Survivor mode).
I've heard of Goodreads before but never took the time to check it out am I'm so glad I finally did! I found a place where I can socialize with fellow readers and get recommendations.

message 1519: by Haley (new)

Haley (haleyb333) | 1 comments Hello everyone!! My name is Haley, and I'm super excited to join this group! I've loved reading all my life, but YA has found a special place in my heart that I just can't seem to shake! I'm a 23-year-old medical student, so I never have much free time, but when I do, I'm usually reading!
I love fantasy, mystery, romance, sci-fi, literally all of it! I'd love to connect with people and find more book nerd friends!

message 1520: by Matthew (new)

Matthew Palmer | 2 comments Hey guys, came across this group on my search and wanted to join as I have found myself always going towards YA books.

My two ultimate favourite YA series is The Selection and Beautiful Creatures.

I look forward to discussing books and hearing some suggestions.

message 1521: by Cam (new)

Cam Hi! I love reading and recently I started reading like crazy again. I really love YA books, and mostly if they have a good love story.

Right now my favorite series are Twilight and The Mortal Instruments.

I really want to read The Selection next. I really love to connect with people over books, and I look forward to find more book nerd friends :)

message 1522: by [deleted user] (new)

Hello all :)
I joined about a day ago but may have skipped the introductions.

I'm Danusha but feel free to address me as Danni. I'm a 19 year old accounting student from South Africa and am still VERY MUCH into reading YA books.

Some of by absolute favourites in this genre are Sarah J Maas' Throne of Glass series and Shatter Me by Taherah Mafi :))

Nina ✿ Looseleaf Reviews ✿ (looseleafreviews) | 1 comments Hi, everyone! I'm 26 and find YA to have more engaging characters and interesting plots than the "adult" market. I review and chat a lot, so I'd love to connect to more readers!

Kristin Cortner (kristincortner) | 1 comments I’m still pretty confused on how to use Goodreads lol but I just really love connecting with YA readers. There are so many books I could recommend but I recently finished “Rebel Spy” by Veronica Rossi and LOVED it! It is YA Historical Fiction which I would love to see more of!

message 1532: by Susan (last edited Mar 23, 2021 07:03PM) (new)

Let's connect! : )

message 1533: by Vivian (new)

Vivian | 8 comments I'm obviously a lover of the written art. When people first meet me they usually think i'm just a serious person but I love to have fun and be silly with friends and family. Currently I'm a nursing student and I hope to go into the field of pediatrics and get to work with kids. I'm a Christian and not afraid to let anybody know about it. If that sits well with you add me up! I love talking books and life with other book worms :)

message 1534: by Moira (new)

Moira McCabe | 1 comments Hello! I'm on a great streak of reading through YA novels as nice escapism from all my dense master's degree reading this year. So sad that I never read these as an actual YA, forcing myself to read the classics was not nearly as fun so I'm trying my best to catch up now! I recently finished Call Down the Hawk (Stiefvater) and I'm starting A Curse So Dark and Lonely now. Would love to follow/gain follows from whoever, trying to make more friends who read similarly :)

Carmen Capuano | 1 comments Hi, I'm a YA writer and hope to get to know all of you on the group.

message 1538: by Danny (new)

Danny Stoll (omesjtollie) | 2 comments Hey there!

My name is Danny and by the time I'm writing this I'm a 35 year old father of three boys living in the Netherlands.

I absolutely love reading and Ya (mainly Fantasy and Sci Fi, though I try to branch out from time to time) is one of my favorite genres. I joined this group as I often feel as the odd man out in other groups. I've noticed they are for a somewhat younger crowd and that makes me feel a bit awkward at times.

Hope this group will suit my tastes better and hope to have some meaningful discussions on the books we all love (or hate).

Emma L Beal (emmalbeal) | 1 comments Hi all :) I hope that you are having a lovely Thursday :)

I am a self published author of ten books - all of which can be found right here on Goodreads, as well as Amazon and my website / blog www.emmalbealauthor.com

My Thursday so far has consisted of:
Discovering that the fridge freezer has died over night and all of our food has defrosted (more upset about the ice lollies to be honest).
Research for current work in progress.
Ordered a new desk and chair (very much needed).
Eaten waaaaaaaay too many crisps (they are my weakness).
and last but not least: I got dressed - hee hee - I work from home so it's not required normally - is it?

Have a lovely day :)
Em
