What, are you Yoda now?
I can't believe there are groups with mandatory minimum posts. We should all do what Bluemoon said and join the group! Haha! Glad you're with us, Susan!

I will take that as a compliment so thank you :)

There are secret groups on here? So weird! You would think that if you have to close your group or keep kicking people out of your group for not posting, you would figure out where the problem is. ;)
As far as I'm concerned, you have a lifetime membership (Team Twilight and Team Peeta)! Haha!

My favorite recently read YA books are The Hunger Games books and The Book Thief. Also love the Harry Potter books and stories by Neil Gaiman.
I can't stand the Twillight series, but I think that's because I'm hooked on the Sookie Stackhouse series & HBOs True Blood.
Goodreads is one of my very favorite websites! I love being able to keep track of what I've read.

I'm not too anxious for the next Sookie book, as I was very sick/out of work Jan-March and had the opportunity to read the series straight through. So, I've had lots of Sookie recently :) Although the addition of a cliffhanger in the last book has me curious.
Reading that series straight through has made me want to go back and read the Harry Potter books & Anne Rice's Witching Hour series straight through, but this is a much more daunting task.
I can't wait for the new Hunger Games!

Welcome, Angela! Can't wait to hear what team you're on. ;)
GO TEAM PEETA!

I have to agree with you though. Gale is hardly on the book, but I never read the second one yet. So I can't judge. I'm still iffy about Peeta since he didn't s..."
I am right there with ya Bluemoon! Gale isn't in the book much, but I wanted him to be! I was anxious to hear more about him and we never did. Peeta seems too weak for Katniss, but hopefully we will be decided after Catching Fire!

Really? You think Peeta is weak? I absolutely disagree. He's just strong in a different way than Katniss is. He's saved her life, being willing to give up his own on multiple occasions. He's also got the people skills that Katniss lacks. In a good relationship, each person has his/her own place. A Peeta more like Katniss wouldn't even be in the running for her heart. Too many cooks spoil the soup, you know.
It's hard to judge Gale accurately at this point, we haven't seen much of him for sure. But it's clear that Katniss has strong feelings for him and he for her. Still, I think it's hard to resist a man that loves you the way Peeta does. Selflessly. He has given up everything for her. And like Haymitch says, she could never deserve him. The real problem with Katniss and Peeta, in my humble opinion, is that she has been forced to love him in public. She hasn't been able to stop and really understand her own personal feelings for him and a girl like Katniss can't like being told what to do. The government has given Gale his biggest boon and his greatest competition.
Sorry for going on so long, Hunger Games is one of my all-time favorites. Only four months until the release of Mocking Jay!

I completely see your point that Peeta is strong in his own way, by being willing to forfeit his life for her. I think what ruined him for me was her feeling like he was holding her back while they were hunting instead of being an asset. That was so unattractive to me. I think a strong woman needs a man who is an equal and her skills far outshine his. I can see how Peeta is strong in his own way, but to me those strengths are not as attractive as Gales. Thats just my opinion so far, Catching Fire might completely alter it.
Mandi - You summed it up very well. :)
Kourtni - The fact that Peeta held her back while hunting is what turned you off? But he has done so much to save her!
Team Gale - How can you love a character that is hardly written about?
Just some of my thoughts. ;)

Shannen - Yep. That pretty much did it for me. And the fact that his greatest skill was cake decorating, which helped him with his camoflauging. It did make me laugh though. I like his character, he is endearing, but from what I've seen so far I just don't like him for Katniss. As for loving Gale, I don't know if I'd go that far as of now. But I like the idea of him and I really want to know more about him.
I like the idea of Gale too and want to know more about him. With this series, I'm sticking with the theory of "opposites attract".

Haha, that's a sound theory. I'm so glad we can voice our opinions without creating bad mojo. :) Though I wonder where all the Gale lovers are now? No Love.
